  1. I remember my first inside pass. It was at Nelson's. It was probably my third track day. If i remember right, it was a really light day for Moto Series and they combined N and I and did 30 minute sessions. I was just starting to tip into 3 and a bike came flying through. Completely threw me off and i stood the bike up. I ended up on the outside edge almost into the grass. Fun times. I miss Nelsons.
  2. I never register before the late fee kicks in (10 days?) as the weather changes 15 times in that 10 days. I refuse to ride in the rain and i have saved a few days by doing that. And with being 3 days, i figured it would be more spread out and not sold out. With that, i did the novice thing and made lemonade out of it. But i was surprised that they did change up. I remember when i was doing novice, i loved the leapfrog thing. It gave the instructor a chance to follow you and help with body positioning. And the classroom time was much more formal. We talked about apexing, body positioning, braking, etc. as a group. Now it was just talk with your instructor for a few minutes after each session. I liked it as it gave me more time to relax, but looking back when i was new, it really helped me learn to ride a track. Our instructor said he didn't like leapfrog as it separates the groups and people get lost and all mixed up; which i can understand. And with 32 people in novice, i think there was too much speed differential between everyone to just do an open track anyways.
  3. Same here. I ended up in group 2 novice. 3 of the 4 in the group were normal intermediate riders. The one guy said he called early in the week and they told him there were plenty of spots open and walking in should be fine. Se he was pretty pissed as well about being sold out. There were 43 pre-registered for Intermediate and ended up with 32 in novice. Unfortunately, our instructor did not want to bump anyone up. He finally started picking up the pace the last two session but the final session ended up red flagged. My fastest lap was still 10 seconds slower than my normal pace. But anyday at the track is better than being at work. I worked on my lines and stretching out my new suit. It was my fault for not registering and i chose not to complain about it (too much). Planning on being there next thursday and then customer appreciation day.
  4. Made sure the battery is charged for tomorrows trackday at Mid-O.
  5. I believe its strings from kites that were cut and flew away or lost. Just random string caught up in power lines and whatnot.
  6. They do not have a tire vendor per say. There is a guy that will change and balance your tires if you have one already. They also usually have some decent take-offs for sale as well. But i don't believe they sell any new tires. I'll be there on the 23rd as of now!
  7. I'm all for that. The US would be in such a better place.
  8. Does N2 allow walk-ins? Do they usually sell out? I plan on going Saturday dependent on weather.

    FML

We've been kinda trying (not preventing) for kids for couple years. I drank too much mountain dew growing up and killed most of my swimmers. We're getting to the point where we say yes and go IVF or say no kids.
  10. I love the prowlers! I want one but they turned out to be huge collector items and they are way overpriced. I will probably own one at some point.
  11. I stopped by over the weekend on the way to my parents. Nothing has been done except tearing down the barn in the front. The tech shed, barns, bridge all still stand. There was not any construction equipment on the premises that i could see from the road. Hopefully something didn't fall through. I really want to ride Nelsons again.
  12. Too hot for me today. Good luck on the 35's!
  13. I'm planning on making it there that weekend. Been wanting to try out the new section. It's going to be a busy end of July/beginning of Sept.
  14. So fresh and so clean.....I need get dragged behind a car before the next track day. haha.
  15. I just got a new suit thanks to Riderdiscount i need to break in too.
  16. The website still states on the track at the same time. If it starts at 5 and runs 20 min sessions, that's 3 sessions per 2 hours. Probably get in 5 sessions. Not a bad for the price. Do they accept walk-ins for twilight? I'll think about Saturday night.
  17. I need to get a camera/gps system. I also need to start looking into these twilight days. Not having a track day until end of august is painful.

    Holy crap

target fixation. He probably went o-shit i'm going to hit that guy and panicked. Also the idea of going through a red light. Not much brain left for decision making. Not saying he had no choice but it's hard. I slid on ice when i was 16 though an intersection. Slid prob 60 feet and could only think shit shit shit. Not to let off brake and steer into the grass next to the road. I hope i would do better now but you never know.

    Holy crap

From the comments, his brakes went out and was honking the horn trying to get the bikers attention. When i rode on the street, i would never sit in the middle of the lane for that reason. Didn't want to get squished between two cars.
  20. I wear a 40/50 suit. That might be a little bit big on me. HAHA. RidersDiscount hooked me up as usual. New suit is on the way!
  21. What camera/data gear you using to create the overlays? That's awesome! I think it would really in analyzing my riding.
  22. Thanks for all the responses so far! I've been gone all weekend and at the track yesterday so i haven't been able to look into the suggestions yet. And they frown upon gun sites at work so i'll start checking stuff out tonight. Main use will just be shooting shit in the back yard. And just to get one before they get ban-hammered at some point in the future.
  23. Beautiful day at Mid-O yesterday; just a little bit warm. I only counted 20 in intermediate, so whoever said it was 2/3's full was full of it. I registered Friday at 11:30 and i ended up being #8 on the list. I'm not complaining though. I had open track almost the entire day. Too bad my lap timer battery crapped out the first session. Pretty sure i was hitting personal best in the afternoon. On a side note, i was told at gear tech (yes they check gear now) that they will no longer allow 2-piece suits next year in intermediate. That really makes me upset, my 2-piece is better than many of the 1-pieces out there. I really like taking the coat off between sessions. Now i have to spend my slipper clutch money a new suit this winter. Blah....
