No amount of deoderizing will get the smell out of a flood car, short of striping it and starting over. To use one for a race car sure, parts maybe, but as a driver its not going to go well.

Carboned up throttle body or idle air control valve, take throttle body and IAC off, clean, reinstall, report back. Cheap and easy to try and somewhat common on most cars, thats where I'd start.

Not sure if there is any adjustment in the base of the strut on your car or not, but this would be the only way to get your alignment way off if it doesn't go back together close to how you took it apart. Obviously it will need aligned regardless. BTW the wheel vibrations you were talking about before will now be amplified by the shorter stiffer springs. Just in case you haven't thought about that.

Used them, work fine, just remember to go back and forth tightening both sides down evenly that spring is under a good bit of pressure. If I had some I'd help out but everywhere I've worked always had a wall mounted unit so I never needed my own.

It all has to do with how much catalyst is inside them, cheap ones even though oversized still may not function as the vehicle was designed. A lot goes into catalyst design so the after market cat likely isn't even "bad" it just isn't correct for the truck.

I'd punch them out and have Dyno Brian tune out that shit. I've heard that spacers work, but have never used them and would rather the computer not look for the sensors at all. Were they replaced with factory cats? I've seen quite a few cars and trucks come in the shop with undersized aftermarket cats causing the same issue. You may also want to make sure the enigne is operating well as poor economy can clog up the cats as well.

GM covers cats 8year 80k miles, if its covered bring it in I'll take care of it.

Keep in mind that Trails used to run top fuel and funny cars so shut down shouldn't be an issue for anyone. Their track prep on the other hand isn't super consistant, however I would think for a bigger event it should be decent.

I couldn't have explained it well in technical terms like you did, but I have a decent understanding of how the different modules interact. I am not surprised at how my Camaro got worse, but I was implying that it wasn't very good stock. Hence why now the "throttle relaxer" was taken apart and had the gear removed that fucks with the cable. So it doesn't disable ABS or function as traction control at all. It will set a code in the ABS module if you do burnouts without turning the system off, but its whatever.
