  1. I think it’s around $12hr, I really don’t know for sure. Someone with a clue and some interest in learning would certainly have lots of room to grow.
  2. I might be, those sound nice. Probably too much for my broke ass.
  3. Not sure about seed, but I bet Ohio Mulch has most of what you need. Haven't used them in a while but always good service from them.
  4. So a V6 Mustang..............pretty fly for a white guy.
  5. I don’t let people film me street racing either. No one wants a record of illegal activity.
  6. Never heard a torque converter make noise that wasn’t physically broken, usually a flexplate issue. Without experiencing that one I’m not sure I have any good advice for you. Did have this noise you thought was lifters ever since install and it got worse, or did it operate normally for awhile? Sure sounds more like something is loose. I wouldn’t be surprised if the flexplate is broken around the middle, you’ll never see that until the trans is out.
  7. :thumbdown  That shit is so played out. If you must have black skip the cheapened look of the machined lip. Makes it look like you bought them at Sears. There are lots of wheel options out there that won’t break the bank, TSW makes some nice Corvette fitment wheels. http://s7.photobucket.com/user/br98ta/media/IMG_20120207_164630.jpg.html
  8. Is that the only angle the car looks good at? Snap some more pics, I’ve seen that one pic everyday for a week. On a positive note, I’ll never see that angle going down the road Does this mean you’re going to autocross this year?
  9. There is already tax on gas, vehicle registration, and lots of tickets paid every year, why can’t they find money to fix roads? Serious question.
  10. I have to agree, I can have the drivetrain out of a Traverse in less then an hour. I’ve certainly made alot of money on them. Seem to be dying off at the dealer though. Still fixing plenty of Cruzes and Equinoxs. Now it seems like I do a few New Malibu/Cruze pistons a month, the 1.4/1.5 are cracking ringlands in the 2016 cars. DI injectors in V8 trucks are also typical lately. Anyway, sorry to talk you out of buying one but I don’t blame you.
  11. I’m going to agree with most of this, however most of the timing chain issues are with the earlier vehicles, pre-2013. If they had minimal cheap oil changes the chains wear fast too. Any newer ones I’ve had apart were black inside. I own a 3.6 Impala and just maintain it, haven’t had any issues yet and it’s at 75k. If it does then I’ll just drop the engine and do the chains, but it’s a 2015 and I bought it early so hopefully it’s a ways off. As for the R/V body (Traverse,Acadia, ect), I personally don’t like them. The 6T70 is a decent trans if maintained, but I think the vehicle is a little heavy for it and they do wear. Early ones break 3-5-R waveplates, newer ones break when abused. Power steering parts are all prone to leaking. I have seen a few evaporators leak, more so the rear ones leak. The struts have a tendency to lock up at extension, usually happening after sitting on a lift for a few days, but again tend to only happen on the earlier ones. If you like these vehicles there are 2 ways I’d buy one, first option is to hunt down an older one with low enough miles to have the special policys for the transmission and the timing chains and have those done. Second option find a newer one, 2014+, with good maintenance records, and keep maintaining it. It’s easy to get jaded when all you see are the broken ones, it’s also common for people to bitch all over the internet when they have major vehicle repairs they can’t afford. I personally just don’t like these vehicles at all in the first place. However they are popular and the right scenarios are out there to have a decent experience.
  12. We are always looking for people to change oil here at Dan Tobin. Need a couple right now as we have people moving up into apprentice roles, so if you or someone you know is maybe young and wants to get into this business this is a decent place to start. Applicant is expected to have basic tools, ie enough to change oil and rotate tires. This shop is mostly by appointment so you typically don't have more then 1-2 cars an hour. I wish it was like this when I got started. Anyone interested should stop in either Dan Tobin Chevrolet and ask for Jeff Craig, or Dan Tobin Buick/GMC and see Glenn Heiss. Both service managers would like to consider all applicants.
  13. Bought the last few car audio related things from Crutchfield, always been pleased with what’s included for the price.
  14. I wish I had a place to put it. That’s the only car from my teenage years that I still lust after.
  15. This doesn’t surprise me at all.
  16. I uploaded directly to CR in my albums so not sure why it’s not working for you. Mine is a Snapon Masters Series, alot of them now have 3 extra wide draws where mine only has 2. Of course I traded in a box I only had roughly $4k in and paid $4k on this one, when Snapon “list” price is $15k for this one with the black bedliner top. Just shows you how much markup is in these things.
  17. I’m glad I gave up my matte black Snapon box, I liked it but it wasn’t big enough and everything that touched it made it glossy. Everyone thought I was crazy to get white, but with a good sealant everything cleans right off and it looks great. My Snapon rep knew I was ready and what I wanted, made sure to snag it at a tool show so I could get it as cheap as possible. Here's my box and cart. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1000&pictureid=9251 My cart has all my hand tools in it, so the box doesn't need anything special for organizing. Cart has magnetic wrench rails and the post style socket racks, otherwise nothing crazy. Cart was custom ordered with the deeper draws so sockets can be stood up in the top draw. Short little draws are worthless IMO.
  18. And I was just clarifying. I hope this gets some interest, doesn’t need to be complicated. Maybe Anthony will stop his boost pipe from blowing off and not have any excuses for my stock bottem end Corvette dragging his Formula, lol.
  19. No, one driver one car one list, possibly multiple lists if you have multiple cars. Whatever I’m driving is on the list. If I’m driving Wagner’s car then mine won’t be on the list. Wagner has said he will probably not participate and just run this so we had talked about me running his car, nothing set in stone just willing to talk shit with any of them. It’s not like I played a major part in building all of them. And just in case anyone wants to say shit about running someone else’s car, my wife owns “my” Camaro, so....
  20. I’m racing something, Corvette, Camaro, Wagner’s Trans Am, I don’t care which. Whoever wants to race one of those three will determine which one I use.
  21. When all you see are the broken ones you get a little jaded. Obviously I still only buy GM stuff, but like anything most of their cars when properly maintained hold up well. There are just your typical weak points and I’m more then willing to point them out.
  22. If that’s a space frame then it’s no wonder the new shit is breaking with decent power. And yes I’m just fucking thrilled, any of this shit comes to Dan Tobin it will be forced upon me. I can only imagine the bullshit coming. I’ll gladly bitch about it in the future so you’ll all know what’s up with them.
  23. Anybody remember the Offspring song Pretty Fly for a White Guy? Try to be cool, try to be different, just end up being a dud. That is all, carry on with dumb shit Buicks
