It seems all well and good right now, but I bet one of two things will happen, either a recession or autonomous cars. Autonomous vehicle would likely turn other cars into very expensive to insure and kill that market aside from museum pieces.

You and Kerry in typical CR fashion changing topics, which changed back now so whatever....

And a good idea for a thread goes to shit on page 2.

I wasn’t even considering inflation, but this was what I meant, park the money until a worthwhile investment comes along. A CD with a decent yeild (given todays market) is what makes sense to me. https://www.ally.com/bank/high-yield-cd/

Put it in a CD until a really good investment deal came along. Just opened a new CD at Ally, 12 months at 2.75%. Honestly I’d probably play harder in the stock market with options, but that’s all I’ve been studying lately and isn’t for very many people.

Pretty sure Harley-Davidson has been pushing for all dealers to be on major interstates for a awhile now. Something for people traveling on Harleys to stop at and buy merchandise. So I’m not surprised at all they would move it.

Thanks for copying that Tim. Compared to most people in the automotive business the Ricart family is right up at the top. I wish they’d buy another GM franchise. It’s cool to see them doing this.

Goddamn people pay $200 to shut that shit off, I’ll do it with HPtuners cheaper then that. Or just get it dyno tuned after some mods and have it shut off then. I agree AFM sucks, but it’s easy to work around, and I’d happily do a mild cam swap and eliminate it all. I think any of those engines are great, but I’m a little biased.

Log calculated load and commanded line pressure when it acts up. If the numbers look good you’ll know it’s in the trans. Kind of sounds like the accumulator sticking or leaking to me, but chances are good you’ll need to get into the trans.

I’ll bet that 227 is the 22nd week of either 97 or 87, after 2000 the last 4 digits were week and year.

You should always be pushing for the next step. My personal issue with that is there is not really a next step without dramatically changing what I do on a daily basis. I'm a GM World Class Technician, what that means is that there is nothing higher to achieve while still turning wrenches. While I may find some minor amount of money doing the same thing somewhere else, I'm pretty much at the top of working on cars. Techs don't typically move into service advising unless they suck at being a tech, and I don't know that any service managers came from being a tech unless they are a service advisor first. Besides I don't really want to deal directly with customers on a regular basis, which also pretty much kills opening my own business too. I guess as much as I like to keep working upward, unless I take some dramatic steps, I'm not going to do that anymore.

Overall I like my job. Lots of dumb issues working on cars, but when it comes to diagnosing an issue and making it work right it makes me happy. When the other techs in the shop go “Wow, how’d you figure that out?”, it really makes it satisfying. The worst part at this point in my career is everyone just expects that I’ll figure it out. That’s just not always possible when things act up so random you can’t pinpoint a cause, the service advisors and the customers just can’t seem to accept that sometimes.

Imho cannabis is pumped up from all the hype, I already took my gains somewhere else. I got into Cron late and still made money, but Alphria was better. Happy to just let that crazy shit alone for now.

I haven’t used Robinhood, but it is legit. They just charge you big fees to transfer stuff out of their service. I use Ally, works pretty well, and I already had money there due to their very good interest rates on savings. I like watching Youtube vids, but yahoo finance is probably my favorite site for research. Just like anything else, most everyone is just spouting opinion, it’s not like anyone know what’ll actually happen. Best advice I ever got was to look into things I believe in, and research those specific stocks. That leads you to other stuff, and on and on it goes.

Same here. About half the refund as the last few years. Kind of annoying to feel like my wife and I aren’t benefiting from home ownership anymore, and they cut the child credit in half. Definitely cost us more in taxes for 2018.

I bought into Aurora recently, felt like Cron was a little high at the moment. Cool thing about Aurora is that Atria (or whatever the company’s name is that owns Malboro) just bought in big, so I’m hoping they take off. The REITs I have are doing well. Most people would call me stupid for the rest of my stocks, so right now I’m just waiting for the bottom to fall out before I dive in any deeper.

Yeah I didn’t even think of that, probably because I never do it. Basically you get the vehicle into learn mode (turn the key on and hold the lock and unlock buttons both down on the key fob untill the horn beeps) and start letting air out of the tires until it triggers the sensor. You have to do it in the same order you would with a tool, LF RF RR LR, when the horn beeps start letting air out of the next tire. After they’ve all been learned the horn will beep twice and you can air them back up.

If you come to me I’ll program them for you, literally takes 2 minutes. I have a tool to do it with, or you could buy your own tool and do it yourself. Either way is really simple, doesn’t matter to me. Those listed should work.
-
I would install them first so they can easily be learned on the car to the correct locations. Copying and transferring sensor IDs is some aftermarket bullshit that I don’t mess with, I’m a dealership technician so that’s what I have tools for. So long as they are direct fit sensors (which I would strongly recommend on GM vehicles, as I have seen issues) they should learn just fine. I can only mount tires at work so if you want a one stop scenario I’m not it (unless you want to pay Dan Tobin). Most tire shops should be able to complete the task. It would be surprising to me that a tire shop would not have the proper tool to relearn TPMS, the tire monitoring has been required by law since 2008.

Depends on the car, I have the tools for GM cars.

It is silver, has a carbon fiber nose on it. Looks great Alex. Keep throwing pics up on Facebook I enjoy seeing what you’re working on.

Cheapest Place locally to get a Snell Rated Helmet?
Cordell replied to Geeto67's topic in Passing Lane
You’re going to want to spend an extra few bucks on an SA rated helmet if you plan to do any HPDE events. A snell helmet, not M, would be fine for everything else. Iron Pony doesn’t have much if anything in SA rated helmets, as would any other motorcycle shop. Jeg’s, Summit, and Track First are the best options in Ohio. I only have a Snell rated helmet that I found at Iron Pony, but ypu have to pay attention as most of what they have will just have a M or DOT rating. -
Seeing as how most GM dealers have remaining 2018s in stock, I'd suspect there are good deals out there to be had on Chevys and GMCs. Just my useless 2 cents, because I don't know of anything specific.

Always nice when officers do more then just write tickets. I've come across a few good ones, and most appreciate when you treat them decent. Very nice of them to go above and beyond changing tires, but just slowing traffic and making the scene safer for those unfortunate people stranded is a good deed.

Pretty sure his parents have it. I’m pretty confident he’ll get it back.
