  1. You simply over thought what I was saying. The way conservatives and liberals would go about implementing autonomous cars on society will be different. I’d like to think one would just make owning them possible while the other would push them on you and make it difficult to do something else. Politics aside, I absolutely hate thinking about how many fucked up ways autonomous vehicles could be forced down our throats.
  2. Cool video sir, thanks for putting it together.
  3. Hate to say it but it actually is. I don't want it anymore then the next guy, but if people keep voting for liberal fucktards that want to control every aspect of your life then things like this and more will continue to get popularized and crammed down your throat in the name of "it's good for you". Ever head Mary Barra say "We are working towards a crash free, emission friendly, future" (I'm paraphrasing)? You're getting the shit and they don't care if you want it or not. If you don't believe it you better wake the fuck up.
  4. Seriously Dude? You're smart enough to know even if GM wanted to do either of those things they wouldn't meet current vehicle standards. As much as I do really like the new Camaro, and consider buying one every time I work on them, they are just not practical, not affordable, and just impossible to justify.
  5. Don't be stupid. Yes change the fluid and filter. Just have the computer tuned to bump pressure and shorten shift times (If you want me to do it, it'll be cheaper then a shift kit). A shift kit in this situation is dumb. Yes I've put shift kits in, iirc most if not all 4L60s behind LS engines had the "Corvette" servo in them as standard, maybe yours isn't because it's a 4.3 truck. Putting new parts in an old trans is like remodeling the kitchen in a condemned house. Don't waste the money.
  6. I bought these at the end of summer last year. Put them on the Camaro, went to one autocross and took them off. Been stored in the basement ever since. I'm just not going to use them like I thought I would. They're mounted on C5 Corvette 18x9.5 wagon wheels. The tires alone are $1k from Tire Rack. Wheels and tires $800, or I'll dismount them and sell just the tires for $700. You can't go wrong with these for autocross, the DOT numbers are only a year old.
  7. So this year has been interesting thus far. On my birthday (April 1st) I had it on the dyno with the following added parts, 3.4 pulley (down from 3.6), CCP Jam Cam, supporting cam swap mods, and Alky meth injection kit. That day did not go as expected because my dumbass thought I'd be okay with the meth, nope, ran out of fuel. Took it home and spent a few weeks figuring out how to make a Walbro 450Lph pump fit in the Corvette tank. Back on the dyno and it ended up at 680rwhp and 606rwtq. Unfortunately it rained that Saturday and I hit some standing water on the way home, hydro locked the engine, broke 2 connecting rods and windowed the block. That really sucked. After weighing many options I decided that I didn't want this car any more modded then I had originally planned on and decided to buy a 60k mile used LS6 dropout from a wrecked 2001 Z06. This gave me the better 243 heads and LS6 intake, I swapped the cam and everything else over, LS9 head gaskets and ARP head studs, decided to upgrade to Kooks 1 7/8" long tubes and off-road x-pipe, and a new McCleod RST twin disk. It hasn't been on the dyno getting retuned, just me conservatively street tuning it, but I put it on Carlyle's dyno Friday night anyway just to see, and it only made 655rwhp and 595rwtq. Looks like the belt may have been slipping a little bit up top, and like I said just street tuning. Made a few passes a the track, 11.9 at 130.00 so as you can tell it spins a lot. Participated at Street Car Takeover Saturday in the roll racing, wasn't sure what to expect but it was fun. Made a few passes trapping 136mph. Been a roller coaster year, but it's alive and doing pretty well. Maybe I can leave it alone for now.
  8. If it got starved for oil I doubt I'd be reusing anything, the rods get oiled last and is probably where the failure started but typically sends debris throughout. Where do you think you'll be getting a new crate shortblock? LS1s and LS6s have been discontinued for some time, about the only thing to get a 5.7 new is when someone rebuilds an aluminum 5.3 and overbores it to a 5.7. LS1s in a crate are almost non-existent. To run an LS3 Lingenfelter makes a converter box to run the gen4 with gen3 electronics, or you can pop the crank out and swap the reluctor wheel, neither option is a big deal with a little tuning.
  9. Good luck finding an LS1 with reasonable miles, probably would want the LS3 for a somewhat affordable aluminum block based engine that may bump power a little bit. Sounds like he needs to spend some time on Improved Racing’s website looking at oil control stuff for LS engines. A dry sump is ideal but an accusump would be good too, at a minimum some of their baffling and control products.
  10. Goddamn man. Words don’t describe how much that sucks. Glad you’re all ok. Cars ok at least? Looking for a bright side maybe.
  11. You know I’m really surprised when I say I have brand new in the packaging Powerstop evolution pads and rotors that nobody wants them. I do a little looking on the part number I do have and they fit Honda CRVs, and Odysseys. I know some of you have these vehicles, should I really throw them in the trash?
  12. I’m going to start throwing this stuff away this week, or giving to our scrap guy. This shit has sat here long enough.
  13. Thanks for swinging by for that.

Keep in mind your wife is full of hormones like crazy right now, and if she’s already getting silly keep in mind that post-partem (sp?) depression is a real thing and effect lots of new mothers. It’s important as the new dad to watch her just as much. Now as for which one is more important, my daughter hands down. Just know when I say that my wife expects it to be that way. It’s been an interesting 18 years as a dad, as mine just finished high school, I wasn’t very involved until she was 2-3. I don’t have any interest in babies, and I really only tolerated it because she was mine. Once she could start talking and getting around it got alot more fun for me.
  15. Anyone who didn’t go missed out. Last night at Carlyle’s was fun. Lots of people I haven’t seen in a few years. Roll racing was fun, much better then riding that keyboard. Lots of cool cars and a cool event. I look forward to doing more of this.
  16. Just know it’s free for a reason, like I said worked when pulled, but literally been laying in a corner for 6-7 years, use at own risk. I’m not going to be around much this weekend so message me and I’ll try to get with you Sunday sometime.
  17. Weather looking excellent today, and decent tomorrow. Looking good to me, excited to be out.
  18. Did they give you an oil dipstick? Hydro-boost? Interesting. No room for vacuum, or is the Porsche hydro?
  19. Thanks Tim. Anybody else going to come get some cheap stuff?
  20. I wouldn’t put this in anything I cared about. This is what people use to go out and beat on until it blows up and not care.
  21. Ok. Message when you want to get them.
  22. I live in Blacklick and work in Dublin so it’s easy to meet north or east.
  23. Yes, I was really looking forward to Friday so that’s good. Hopefully some runs Saturday either way I’ll be happy to do something.
