  1. Just about every chassis had a different oil pan, are you looking for something specific?
  2. Updated the sticky with all the dates I have found, you could certainly autocross just about every weekend if you wanted to drive a little.
  3. updated. As you can see there is lots of autocrossing going on within reasonable driving distance.
  4. I think it's the Akron SCCA, I'll check and update my list when I get home.
  5. My Impala with Michelin X-ice on them was only marginally different in ride and handling. You could tell they were softer but it wasn't drastic. The factory all seasons are 235-50-18, and I went with 225-60-16 on steelies.
  6. Sorry dude, I thought I clicked the quote button, didn't mean to edit your post.
  7. The headers on my C5 required me to remove the stater, slide that one halfway in, and install the starter before putting it the rest of the way into place. The passenger side is not fun and I can certainly understand why it would give you trouble. I'm sure you'll get it worked out, thank you for continuing to post the progress it's cool to watch.
  8. Get them shipped to my house, take them to work with me. I use ebay for tires a lot too. The couple times now that I've bought snow tires on steelies, I just bolted them on in the driveway, they came with lug nuts and everything.
  9. Like drag racing it just depends on how many weak links there are, for a sound car I doubt it hurts it much at all. Just stresses things a little differently, the valvetrain gets more of a workout since it lasts longer and RPMs fluctuate. Suspension, brakes, and especially tires come into play a lot more, but it's not really an issue so long as things are in good condition. Your Corvette was made for it and will be just fine though.
  10. I had heard of autox at D42, who's putting that on? I'll have to update my list when I get home.
  11. So I didn't race much in the last few years, and I want this year to be better. I originally bought my Corvette specifically because I wanted to autocross it so that's what I want to do this year. I put together a list of dates, see here http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21 , obviously I'm not going to make it to all of them and I can't find anything on OVR yet, but with the newer class of CAM-S I think I'll go to more of the SCCA stuff. I doubt I'll be very competitive but that is the direction I want to go with my car. For those that don't know it was for "Optima Challenge" type cars, requiring street tires and very lax on other rules. Anyone else look into this, or plan on doing more autox this year?
  12. This is what I have so far, compiled from Facebook and various sites. I suggest you double check the dates, as this is as accurate as the internet I found it on. 13. You know how many people don't listen to me, and I'm a GM certified tech? This is why I don't even bother much anymore, besides trying to be nice typically turns into getting taken advantage of. You and Doc are but a few who never tried to abuse my kindness, you'll never know how much I appreciate that.
  14. Going to try auto-x in this one are we?
  15. Did you buy it because it matched the shirt you had on that day? I guess Tina has rubbed off on you more then I thought.
  16. Yes an LS2 is cathedral port.
  17. This will be interesting, aparently 42 has paved some additional areas to be able to host autocross. Maybe Trail's new owners will see some value in that as well, OVR doesn't have a lot of options anymore.
  18. Unfunnyryan, I need to get you over to my house. You should have a consultation fee to help people plan this shit out. I'm one of those people who is not techy with this crap.
  19. Not sure why he would've dyno'd it that way. Maybe your car spun on the dyno, tuning can still be done in 5th and reduce wheelspin. Hard to say.
  20. I don't know of anything specifically, but I'd look hard at anything made of rubber on anything that old.
  21. Yes this, headers are not the hard part. So much has to come out to do a clutch in a Vette.
  22. Wish I wasn't working today. Have fun.
  23. Your system will drain itself if it's not capped off. If the ABS is not allowed to go dry it should be fine, same thing with the clutch. Pinch off the rubber hoses, or find something to cap them with. Simple bleeding after reinstall and you should be just fine.
  24. Had Wow a couple years ago, hated it, service went down alot, then they wanted to charge us to have a service call so they could fix their shit. Went to Uverse, but they couldn't provide the internet speeds I wanted in my area. Recently went to Time Warner, and after having them come back out last week because their shit wasn't fast as advertised it's working well. I'm seeing 70 megs most of the time. I too will not part with DIRECTV, it has worked fantastically for the 3 years I've had it. At&t wouldn't bundle the crap either or give us decent internet, so I have no issue giving my money to Time Warner.
  25. Definitely a big turnout at C&C. Glad I got my lazy ass out there.
