  1. We need someone that can learn, and that can work as a flat rate tech. GM experience would be a plus, but some who is capable of doing more then oil changes and tire rotations is what we are looking for. Someone motivated with an ability to learn, and has their own tools should call the service manager Joe Stanwick via (740) 967-8021 (Lash's main line). This is a monday through friday job with no weekends. The work is there for someone who can pay attention and try. Of course you'd be stuck with me everyday :dumb:
  2. Get her a Miata, pre 05 are super reliable and fun, put some snow tires on it in the winter and it'll do really well. Cobalts might be a little more realistic option, but they are noisey little shits.
  3. Ok guy comes in and asks an honest question in tech, you guys are being fucking dicks.6 replies and not one worth a damn. Black smoke is typical of running rich, typically a modern car doesn't need to run rich enough to produce black smoke ever. That being said the cold does all kinds of crap do cars, so I'm not really sure if this is an issue you should put much worry into. As long as it doesn't last long or produce a lot of black smoke I would wait until it gets warm and see if it goes away. If lasts longer then the first 5-10 seconds I wouldn't think that is normal on anything, typically the ECM injects additional fuel on start up but it never lasts long.
  4. and is why I wouldn't want to own a "supercar". Sounds like one hell of a headache. I'd have to be rich enough to own an enclosed toy hauler and rent tracks out so I could play in peace.
  5. Commercial accounts is what keep most parts stores alive, and there will always be people trying to get stuff ASAP. I only go for fluids and batteries because shipping those can be a pain, plus there isn't much mark up in that stuff. Of course my lazy ass loves the internet for shopping and anything else I have the parts department at work order it through our commercial account.
  6. Good luck getting many people from CR to drive to Quaker or Thompson.
  7. We use it at my house, works great, hasn't been free for us, but we like it enough to use it for the last 3-4 years now.
  8. I think Trails just likes to suck, and piss people off. The NHRA doesn't do us any favors either. Its a damn shame. I'm going to get the Camaro together in the next year or so and start running some local stuff for a change. Looking forward to D42 really.
  9. Glad we had a nice turnout, thanks to Doc for opening up and letting us get out. Weather wasn't horrible by the time we went up there so that was a nice bonus.
  10. Fire in the fireplace? Leaving as soon as I finish eating.
  11. Looking forward to cruising up.
  12. Light snow doesn't bother me, it would have to be worse then that weather report. Will know for sure tomarow but I don't see that slowing everybody much.
  13. What you're refering to is more about being politically correct then freedom, and I could care less if people's feelings get hurt. People have a choice to ride a plane or not, so things like charging more for a plane ticket are on the right side of constitutionalism.
  14. First post brings this up as a good idea, what do you guys think? Besides it's about as close as you can get and not be our country.
  15. I'm starting a religion based on eating and therefore the possibility of this law would conflict my amendment right to freedom of religion. The government has no right to tell people how to live, and just because you may not agree with how some people choose to live or take care of themselves doesn't give you the right to try and control them. That is the basis that this contry was founded. If I can't choose my own food I will seriously consider becoming a citizen of some other contry.
  16. None of you business what my kids or I eat, that kind of shit impairs my rights just like so many other stupid laws.
  17. For those of you who don't have Valentine's day plans, or are free after 9pm, Doc will be opening the hangout. Some friends have said they will come on Facebook, so it will open. Let's not disappoint our very generous friend, who rumor has it may not have the hangout next year. For those who don't know, Hangout is at 320 London Road in Delaware, in the Howald Industrial Park. We are at the front of the first building to your left as you come down the drive. There are many good routes to use from Columbus to the Hangout (e.g., I-71 north, SR315 north along the Olentangy, SR257 north along the Scioto), but a simple way from Polaris tonight would be this: travel west on Polaris Parkway. It becomes Powell Road at US23, but continue to the village of Powell (watch your speed there). In the center of town, turn right on Liberty Road. Go until it dead ends on London Road. Turn left on London Road, travel 100 ft, turn right into Howald Industrial Park. The whole trip is just 3 turns!
  18. It seems that you have been through a ton the last few years, so I'm happy for you. Faith is a good thing and I hope it continues to help you
  19. Turbo Cobalts are LNFs which get mouted longitudinally in a Soltice GXP. However its the contradiction of 650 hp, reliably, easily, and cheap, with the options he listed. it not impossible, but that doesn't meet my definition of cheap and easy when it is going into something that has a SBC in it, and thats not cheap and easy enough?
  20. Boost an LS based truck motor, most of what you listed will hold great power but 650 is more then double most of them stock and would really be pushing it in my opinion.
  21. Yeah, keep your eyes open for a used trunk lid to make that wing go away. Thers are 4 nice holes under that thing. Put some mufflers on that thing so it at least sounds like a Camaro, otherwise I approve of this car
