My utility trailer sits out behind my house 24/7. Put a few cinder blocks under the wheel springs and throw a couple cheap covers over the wheels and you'll be fine. Way cheaper than buying an actual vehicle.
It's a lot of fun, but the older I get, the more conservative I ski. Mostly, I just want to get the boys away from the damn video games during the winter and it's great fun watching them do all the silly crap I used to do on the mountain.
I know a guy that applied shoo goo to his tire that was showing cords, then proceeded to ride it a few hundred more miles. Of course, I'm pretty sure he's certifiably crazy...
I do have a truck and trailer if things get really bad for you. I can't leave until about 1630 tomorrow though.
Good rubber put back on the rear, general pre-trip inspection completed, heated gear located, bags being packed right now. Playing with routes in the Zumo.
Hopefully I can get Saturday's route loaded in the Zumos sometime Thursday night, or maybe Friday in Parkersburg, but that'll be a hand-jamb since I'm not dragging my laptop along on this trip.
