  1. Yeah, I am just gonna run down from SEO to the hotel on Thursday via twisty roads. You're welcome to join.
  2. I put together a brief synopsis of my 2017. Let's hear how everybody's 2017 went, and what 2018 has in store for them. 2017, wow what a year. I finally took my health serious, lost almost 70 pounds while adding muscle. I rode my motorcycle over 21k miles, visited 23 states, and met countless friends along the way. I became an uncle for the 2nd time. Started a new job in a field that I love. I completed one of the biggest motorcycle challenges in my life, riding over 1,000 miles in less than 24 hours. I visited some of this country's coolest attractions and landmarks. All these motorcycle trips and I brought everything home in one piece. If 2018 is half as good as 2017, I say bring it on. I got big plans already. 2 week trip out west planned, and a bucket list of other things (2nd bike?, track day?, run a 5k?, skydiving?) Who knows....
  3. Due to work scheduling, I'll probably rolling down Thursday instead of taking the while week. Probably take 16 most of the way.
  4. My Aerostich has no lining, so it's not bad. I've been in bumper to bumper traffic in the 90s. It's hot, but not unbearable.
  5. Honestly, you should probably pack these for when you're off the bike each night. I have the stitch, so I can't recommend much. It works for any trip. Before I had it though, mesh/textile pants and jacket with waterproof liners worked well. I think good base layers help comfort the most. I prefer moisture wicking shirt and athletic shorts with knee high socks and klim riding shorts.
  6. I thought that's how discussion works , no need to be salty We could all just sit here and say nothing, that sounds like a bunch of fun... The track bike build is crazy too, but I see more merit in buying a street bike and converting it to a track bike, than a Adventure bike and just changing the adventure parts to slightly different adventure parts. At least the track bike build I can see major differences.
  7. Some guys take a brand new GSA, and drop crazy money in replacing perfectly fine parts. That's the sad part.
  8. No, it was a Kawasaki Nomad with a Voyager trike kit (Like a training wheel kit). Boss wanted to know if the trike kit they installed was stable before letting a customer ride it.
  9. You realize that's the weekend of the International Motorcycle show in Cleveland right?
  10. I took a bike out for a test ride at 16 degrees this afternoon. Good thing i was getting paid to do it
  11. There was a landslide on Rt 28 just south of Fontana. Predictions are that that section of 28 will be closed until late February.
  12. Dang, if I get in the 180s I feel like I'm gonna die
  13. Got some new shop tools today. Also some other tools to build a on the bike tool kit.
  14. FJR is not going anywhere, and I don't see myself owning an Indian anytime soon. Why buy one when I can ride them for free. I do plan on having a 2nd bike though, hopefully in the sub 500 pound with more hp than the FJR
  15. Sorry to hear Kent. Hope everything works out well for you.
  16. Paging @2talltim. He has the oxfords
  17. Yes, this is correct. Confirmed by the National Park Service Website, quote below. What about motorcycle drivers who purchase an Annual Pass? An Annual Pass permits entrance for two motorcycles IF the two people who sign the pass arrive at the same time on two motorcycles, regardless of the number of people on each motorcycle.
  18. I was very back and forth between the Givi and Sw-Motech (I really like SW-Motech with the powered tankbags). I've never had my Givi even show the slightest hint of coming unlatched.
  19. So "pass holder and occupants of a single, private non-commercial vehicle" leads me to believe 2 motorcycles is more than a single vehicle
  20. I was gonna say the opposite I love the tanklock, especially compared to others I've tried. I'm not a fan of their top case latching but it seems to work okay. Their adventure stuff looks pretty decent but I've never personally used any of it.
  21. Well every year, my mom's side of the family has a Christmas party, and we get family pictures. This has been a good way to see my year over year progress. They're not the best pictures, but it's cool to see change.
  22. Let me know a time and place. I'll be there.
