I thought the same thing but the following quote from the book makes me wonder: "Using the outside peg as your pivot point -while pressure is being applied to the bars, either by just pushing or using a combination push and pull- reduces your weight on the seat and puts the majority of your weight on that lower, outside peg."
-
I can handle that. That makes sense to me. This is my struggle. The majority of my weight is on the inside peg. I guess I still have more to work on.

On my flight to and from Florida I decided to read Twist of the Wrist 2 again. As I was reading I came across what Keith Code calls pivot steering. He mentions to use the outside peg as a pivot point and carrying most of your weight on that peg as you hang off on the opposite side of the bike. (Pg 85 is where he discusses this). So yesterday I had 1 last road with some decent turns and I decided to focus a bit on this concept. It made no sense to me. I find myself weighting the inside peg. I feel weighting the inside peg is accomplishing the same idea he is discussing to carry your weight low on the bike, but am I setting myself up for disaster here? I posted here in the track section because I was not sure where else to post. I know there are some really fast goes on the street as well, so please chime in.

Met @TreeFime (Ireland) in Lisbon and rode for 3hrs together. Great times. Starting to really like the Q3s. Noticed a big difference in the front brakes after replacing the eBay cheapies with some EBC pads. I think I also got all the air bubbles out of the lines from the previous owner. Feel like I chased that issue forever.

Nice car. What year? Is it the Trans Am? What year?

I put new brake pads on all around, tightened and lubed the chain. Then washed it and prepped it to hopefully ride tomorrow afternoon. If anybody wants to join in I plan to be in Lisbon around 2pm. I'll be taking 164 to 9 into Cadiz area then probably 646 to 152 to 213 to 170 back into Lisbon area.

Email the seller on eBay. Ask them the questions you have. I recently purchased a used wire harness on eBay for my cbr to be able to swap out plastic easily. Granted the harness I purchased was for a 2006 not 20 years old. When I was looking for 1 there were some that looked like somebody hacked them up with a butcher knife, I just avoided those. I found 1 that I looked over thoroughly in the pics and got it for $40. Most were going for over $100 and I think new was $250-300. If you can find 1 that looks good and the seller can tell you it came from a running bike I'd say go for it. I get what others are saying, but I'd take the chance especially if you get it from a seller that will accept returns.

When I first started riding back in the late 90s I was told to use both brakes. I still find myself doing that at times. Even when using both I rely on the front more obviously.

Took the bike out for a quick run through some mediocre twisties in northwest PA. Nothing like a 150 miles on the bike in 2.5 hours to clear the head.

Put the plastic on I plan to use for my track day(s) to test the eBay wire harness I purchased. Everything seemed to work as it should. $40 for the harness $40 for another headlight assembly I taped up so I can just leave it in the OEM plastic as my track plastic. Got me out of the house and spent some time in the garage. May only use it once or who knows maybe I'll use it a bunch.

I got the response that I shared as well as another. I was 2 for 3. I guess I'm doing pretty good here in no mans land. Maybe my Representatives never hear from anybody. The 2nd one was interesting. I think it was from the assistant and said something to the effect of: That's rather interesting but the Republicans are in control right now and you may have more success if you get them on board.

I keep telling myself my helmet is good and I don't need to buy this. I need people to stop tempting me when they post in this topic.

@Tonik saw your 2 post. Based on what I saw in your second post I'm not going to bother my representative. I do have a tentative meeting date of April 8th.

I rode all summer last year in a pair of Kevlar jeans I got from Iron Pony. I liked them, to me they were no different than jeans as far as comfort goes. I actually went to Deals gap and back with them.

I got 1 of those letters here in the sticks. I responded no and it still switched. I haven't tried to deal with it yet because I'm more concerned about the spike in kilowatts used due to our heat pump taking a crap. Once I get the heat pump sorted out I'll tackle the supplier issue.

I would agree. I often don't wear earplugs on short runs and have no problem. It's those lengthy rides that will kill your ears without some kind of earplugs. Btw @Tonik I did get a response. He said he would prefer to hear from me first and then go from there. The date he first suggested to meet I am unable to do ( I'll be on vacation in Florida). It looks as though it will have to be some time in April.

I think the picture of me and the representative I know snuggled up on my crotch rocket would look even worse than that picture.
-
Just responded to the email and mentioned you would be interested in meeting him as well. I asked him how he wished to proceed. Thanks for the additional facts. I'll keep you posted.

Response from a Representative: Received your email and would like to meet with you to discuss this matter in greater detail. I realize that you are in class Mon-Fri and I am down here Mon evening through Thursday. Would it be possible to catch breakfast sometime on a Saturday morning? Probably the best I can do at this point given our schedules. I probably should add I personally know this Representative. He was my high school history teacher and basically ran his campaign from local friends and family support. Anything specific you feel I should bring up? Obviously the idea that the ear plugs are a safety concern. Other thoughts?

I've been looking into doing something like this. If you buy an unlocked phone will it work on any network? Are you better off buying a used phone from the same network or a new unlocked phone?

05 cbr600rr called for 87 octane. 06 cbr1000rr calls for 91.

Did you only have nasal issues with your allergies? I have both nasal and eye. I have some eye drops that usually can make them tolerable, but the nothing seems to work for nasal issues. I may ask the doc about this nasal steroid when spring rolls around.

When I got pulled over last year I had earbuds in and was not ticketed for it. I kept my helmet on, however, until the very end when he handed me the ticket. I just pulled the earbud cord from my phone as soon as I pulled over. One of his 1st questions was didn't you hear me back there? I responded no, but for sure said nothing of my earbuds. He did see them, but by that time he was telling me to take it slow through Cadiz because he had radioed ahead to them. Grant it this was not a state highway patrolman. He could not have been impressed though. He thought I was running and had radioed ahead.

Done. Thanks for doing this Tonik.
