Rebuilt my seat/helmet lock with some old internal parts I had from the original that broke years ago. Glad I'm a pack rat! Once I got the seat off, I saw the wiring for my SpeedoHealer was frayed from rubbing against part of the frame. Lucky it was only cut through the outer jacket and foil shield - all conductors are OK. Some electrical tape to reinforce it and all is well.

I have 2 pair of the IXS RS-200 gloves and I'm very impressed with the quality and comfort. I have found myself choosing these gauntlets over other gloves on my shelf even in the heat we've been having. Don't buy them without trying them on first - I thought sizing was way off. IP has them on the clearance rack in several colors.

To be a decent street bike it needs 17" wheels, 2 front discs & USD forks - then it would be a nice hooligan!

May I recommend the Haywood Smokehouse in downtown Dillsboro. Been there several times and always had a good meal. Best banana pudding this side of a Southern Baptist Church potluck. And a couple local area craft beers on tap. That's a Green Man IPA in the mason jar...

Pushed it out of the garage to make sure it would start. Gonna ride to work tomorrow after 2 weeks working out of town...

31 bags here. Trimmed shrubs and planted some new crap to maintain later. All day yesterday and most of today!

Here's a tip from a 60 year old who's not planning to stop riding anytime soon. My Bandit has pegs up and inch and back an inch and drag (flat) bars. I avoid the slab whenever possible but when I can't, I find posture and core support makes all the difference. When droning, make sure you are squeezing the tank between your knees and push down with your feet - try to push your heels below or even with the level of the pegs. This lower body posture will tighten your core and take a surprising amount of weight off your arms, shoulders, and upper back. The "heels down" will help stretch the calves and keep them from cramping up. Once you get the load off your upper body, practice keeping arms and shoulders loose by flapping your elbows frequently - think chicken dance. And after you get this down, you should notice you don't have to hold the grips very tight at all. Make sure your gloves fit well, I find too thick or too loose gloves will cause arm pump from gripping too tight. I don't think more than 400mg of Ibuprofen at a time helps to alleviate pain any better. Higher doses are great for reducing inflammation but 400mg before you start riding and every 4hrs or so will be adequate. And, as mango said, Throttlemeister FTW! Pricey, but a very well made product.

Email this morning says the wheels are backordered and expected delivery date is Aug 14! At least that's better than an "unfixed" date like the silver ones. I have a week to decide whether I want to cancel or wait it out... I suppose I would probably have been more surprised if they had them sitting on the shelf. The most recent of the two was last sold on a new bike in '07.

Ordered the wheels I asked about in the Tech and Tips section. The silver color was out of stock and they said the next delivery date is ""ünfixed"" so I ordered black.

Thinking about ordering these - what do you think?

Just finished dropping 170,000 yen on these! Can't wait to see and ride on them. Tried convincing my wife that they were $11,000 less than a new FZ-10 -

I have a friend who's working on his second bike that he's fitted with Galespeeds. He says they're not the absolute lightest out there, but they're light around the circumference to minimize rotating inertia and he can really tell the difference. The price seems right and the site I linked will sell the F & R wheels separately which I need since I'm running Hayabusa forks. I'll keep you guys updated and, of course, post pics when they're here and installed. -
https://japan.webike.net/products/1253059.html Gun Metallic Silver should look good with my bike. Just have to find a 48T sprocket to fit that isn't a $150 Supersprox On-Demand-CNC custom.

I've been carrying my Spyderco Clipit Delica with half serrated blade for the last 20 years along with a small Victorinox Swiss Army Rambler (size of a Classic but with a bottle opener). I've bought 3 different Kershaws in the last year because I'm fascinated with the spring assist opening but ended up giving them away because they were twice as thick and 3 times as heavy as my Spyderco.

Get a proper JIS screwdriver and you'll never round out a Japanese crosshead screw again.

If you don't do it, someday you'll have to make excuses for why you didn't.

29o when I left this morning. My commute is about 15 minutes longer this winter and I think I found my limit unless I invest in heated gloves.
-
Rode it to work this morning! Finally, no rain. 34o but it beats another day in the car.

Yeah, but my Pilot Power 3 also has a 73 load rating. As I understand, the GT spec has a stiffer casing - you'd think that would translate to a higher load rating but not according to the data. Hmm... I have 2 friends with Connies that swear by the PR4GT.
-
I like the looks of those. Any word of a GT spec for the FJR & Connie riders?

What will taxes at license fees be for that in Malaysia? I don't think I saw anything bigger than 650cc while I was there!

You said you want to ride Sepang, are you from KL? I've only been to the airport in KL, but have been to Penang/Kulim several times. I like your country but I've never seen a bike like yours there! Be careful with that thing.
-
Same here. It's on my way home from work. Dangerous place to stop when you have money in your pocket.

Cleaned and lubed my brake & clutch lever pivots. It's amazing how much better they feel. I'm disappointed with myself that I let them go so long.

DUH! Can't believe I confused the two. And I was just there 2 weeks ago and rode through Franklin at least 4 times... I'll blame posting while working 2nd shift.
