It is an accountability issue, but it is governemnt wide. The police union has strength because those in power do nothing. Show me the numbers where government employees, including Capitol Hill, see the swift hand of justice when their atrocities are judged. Left. Right. No matter. We The People are the problem. We are the racists... if not at least very guilty of incredible amounts of apathy toward those around us. Stopping the economy in its tracks is what gets our attention. Dead children do not. Dead black children especially do not.
I tried that for many elections. It doesn't work. I have not voted for a Republican since McCain.. and even then I about puked in my mouth while doing it. The Libertarians have no chance... and I voted for them, too.
THE. TWO-PARTY. SYSTEM. IS. BROKEN.
At this point, call it "Cop Lives Don't Matter", "No Donuts For You", "Fuck Color, Stop Shooting"... whatever... for all I care. Just fix the fucking problem. Semantics are a distraction. Credit is irrelevant. Just fucking solve the problem.
The Voyager is very good 2-up. It is a lot better with fresh tires. She is quite happy with the Voyager.
I rode a K1200GT and I do not like the lack of grunt from the inline. The bigger bike may be better, but I think the Wing's flat-six is more appealing.
Lower seat height, primarily. The GS is too tall for 2-up with my short legs. If the RT is too tall, I will have to disqualify it. This is where the GoldWing begins to gain momentum as the best overall option.
Have you ridden one? It's the same style front end as mine. I figured you would hate it.
It's on my list. You and I need to get in a ride so we can swap bikes for a few hundred miles.
Not necessarily, but I am really impressed with the overall build of mine. I have not ridden a RT since the 1150.. which was boring as fuck. The 1200 is a hoot and the RT is the best BMW tourer with that engine. However, rumor has it the 2-up qualities of the GoldWing are damn impressive.
I also find the Wing more visually apealing than the RT, but both are dynamite tourers... and I used to ride a 1st gen Multistrada. I am used to ugly.
I think most heavy cruisers will fade away in the next decade. Why buy one when the GW is so good? The Voyager is a decade old and is $20k. I would gladly spend another $2-5k to step into something modern if I were in the market for a new bike. There is no chance I am spending GoldWing money on a 900 lb bagger.
I am NOT in the market for a new machine, but I am supposed to be HD's demographic (I am 43 and make enough to afford one). A giant HD/Kaw/whatevs isn't even a blip on my radar.
425 miles. Had a great ride. Had decent BBQ (not awesome, but warm and convenient) and good company. I rode Jason's 2008 K1200GT. Nice bike, FAST.... but cramped.
WV-20 is partially repaved. WV-7 is brilliant, as always. 250 is becoming mainstream and I will begin to quietly shun it for the rest of this season. OH-800 is always a treat.
HD had its heyday, but all things come to an end. This is what happens when you build your product on an ideal, rather than market research.
Good. Maybe one of them will buy my Ducati.
