  1. I am a fan of setting everything at the very middle and working from there.

    Honest question.

The original question is whether or not they should be allowed to vote since they have paid their debt to society. Clearly, you feel former convicted felons should be held to the current standard. So, you have answered the question. I feel Americans are too stupid to know how to govern themselves and should be restricted from voting without some sort of empirical evidence demonstrating above-average intelligence. I view denying released citizens their constitutional rights as a failure.

    Honest question.

Weren't we discussing the merits of holding released persons to a different standard than other citizens?

    Honest question.

Yeah, but it is still non-enforceable thought policing.

You will need a stronger argument than that to convince me that imposing extended punishment that is not enforceable by any stretch of the police budget is even slightly in the same ball park as speeding violations. My immediate counter is one is an infraction based on physical evidence that is provable by eye witness account and velocity measuring technology. The other is a punitive action for a crime not yet committed.

    Honest question.

How long do we make them pay for their crimes after our justice system has decreed they have paid for their crimes? Since every person with a functioning brain knows gun restrictions will not keep these baddies from acquiring a firearm, exactly how does one reconcile this point of view with reality and reason?
  7. Motorcycle tire manufacturers are scamming the market with round tires. I just spooned a BFG Longtrail to my bike and it handles perfectly.

    Honest question.

If we are being honest, I feel most people should not own a firearm or be allowed to vote based purely on the fact that they are too fucking stupid. However, civil liberties, founding fathers, constitution, yada-yada.... Freedom is a messy business. Either we all are equal or we are not. I don't like the idea of ex-convicts walking around with access to firearms, but I seriously doubt they really are a huge threat to society. Nevermind the fact that laws don't keep guns out of the hands of felons. We should look at why going back to crime is such a popular option for a lot of these individuals. Privatized prisons could be a good place to begin looking. Lack of emotional and spiritual support is a big factor. Not necessarily "Jesus loves the little children..." type of spirituality. I mean the real shit that helps a person connect with something greater than himself. Honest soul searching. Honest societal forgiveness. No more shame-inducing policies that only exacerbate the hardships that ex-cons face when they are released into society. I mean... are we REALLY going to talk about it? The average American voter is about as intelligent as a fire hydrant. Can we even solve real intellectual issues with voting ballots when the vast majority of the populace is running around town square with double-digit intelligence quotients?
  9. Majorally funded? 2% of their budget is non-direct funding from the CPB. About 6% of their funding comes from federal, state and local governments. However, I did hear Koolaid was sponsoring a phone drive soon. You might want to mark your calendar.
  10. Hand me the fob to that Wing and I will show you fast.
  11. I got an email today with homework inside. I will be out, but only long enough to push Jim's Wing over. Speaking of wings... what are we eating?
  12. Excellent. That is the one-way mileage, Craig. I know you won't object, but just want to make sure you read me correctly. If the weather is good enough, I plan on riding the Wheelhouse. I am not excited to ride fixed on the trail and I don't have the KHS set up for singlespeed. You have my number. Just let me know, either way.
  13. Fuck that VFR. I will sell you my minty-fresh FZ6. It already has Yamaha electrics, so no need to replace anything under the hood.
  14. I do not suppose anybody else is interested in meeting me at the Manchester trailhead and cycling the Towpath to Massillon? It is a tick over 20 miles, which should take less than 1.5 hours to ride at a relaxed pace. I have really been neglecting my road bike this spring and my fat ass is feeling it.
  15. Highway pegs? They look like a pair of burnt fish sticks. I find your lack of chrome disturbing.
  16. Options for an intermediate-oval Arai in a Small.
  17. Yeah, she is a piece of shit, too.
  18. I have to read it to verify, but I heard the talking heads on the radio say because Trump's aids didn't follow through on his instructions for them, they basically kept him from breaking the law. His intent was unlawful, but since his aids are smarter than he is, he is clean on a technicality. I personally can't stand the fat, smug piece of shit. His politics aside, he is a disgusting human being and his childish outbursts on social media, coupled with his arrogance and ignorance, make me wish he would drop dead of a heart attack. However, that would leave Electro-Shock Therapy Pence at the helm... and that thought is terrifying. So, if it came out that Trump 100% had zero intentions of illegal activity, then that is great. Time to move forward. They also said he isn't being impeached because it is too close to election season.... which is a giant crock of horseshit. "They" being whomever was interviewed on NPR today while I was chasing Jim across southern Ohio.
  19. I have not decided. I cannot push it as hard as Jim did, but I think the Voyager will be fine down there. The roads aren't Ohio-Grade shyte. She's worth the effort for that long slab home on Sunday. Plus.... luggage, cruise, stereo. The FZ is ready to go, minus luggage, cruise, stereo.
  20. Well, I like the Whale for sweepers and highway cruising. The wind gusts didn't even phase it. I was being blown around on the saddle and the bike just stayed put. We stopped in Barnesville and I put the taller screen back on. It got a lot quieter and my head stopped rattling around. That made the twisty bits of 800 more enjoyable. Plus, I could really hear the folks' heads explode on NPR. A topic for a different thread. The taller screen really amplified the engine heat, though. Holy hell that 1700 puts out some fire. This summer is going to be something. It really does shine on the interstate. 100mph felt like nothing and it just floated past all the traffic. However, when we took 147 from Bellaire, the first section felt like I was riding a 900 lb water balloon. All said, I am pleased with the bike. It does exactly what it was built to do and does it very well. Thanks, Jim.
  21. Someone will start to code monkey the ECUs and fix that, maybe? Unless it is a gyroscopic issue it should be reprogramable.
  22. You can't adjust that in space shuttle mode?
