  1. Well, I like the Whale for sweepers and highway cruising. The wind gusts didn't even phase it. I was being blown around on the saddle and the bike just stayed put. We stopped in Barnesville and I put the taller screen back on. It got a lot quieter and my head stopped rattling around. That made the twisty bits of 800 more enjoyable. Plus, I could really hear the folks' heads explode on NPR. A topic for a different thread. The taller screen really amplified the engine heat, though. Holy hell that 1700 puts out some fire. This summer is going to be something. It really does shine on the interstate. 100mph felt like nothing and it just floated past all the traffic. However, when we took 147 from Bellaire, the first section felt like I was riding a 900 lb water balloon. All said, I am pleased with the bike. It does exactly what it was built to do and does it very well. Thanks, Jim.
  2. Someone will start to code monkey the ECUs and fix that, maybe? Unless it is a gyroscopic issue it should be reprogramable.
  3. You can't adjust that in space shuttle mode?
  4. The evolution of the Voyager's name is progressing nicely. The Turdasaurus Flex need not bring street credit. It has a real man at the helm, now.
  5. Yeah... every OhioRiders even is going to be accompanied by 90's hip-hop blaring as loud as the Whaleasaurus can belt it.
  6. I will be piloting a 1700cc Barcalounger. Route is irrelevant. I have cruise and a stereo. I hope you folks like NWA and 2LiveCrew.
  7. I just had a sit down with the integrators on site and lit them up over these control faults. They suggested I stay another day to make sure all is well. I told them I am leaving tomorrow even if the roof collapses tonight. In other words, change that pencil to blue ink. See you all on Thursday.
  8. That is up to Jim. Bolivar and Lisbon both work for me.
  9. Pending no catastrophic failures on site, I fly home tomorrow. Pencil me in for this ride. Figure out a meet spot in Lisbon and your eatimated arrival time and I will plan to be there.
  10. The margins are low on Ducs. Once floorplanning is used up, they get too hot to touch.
  11. They aren't going to move it at that price, but maybe they are trying to stave off a repeat with the 2019. Since they are already going to take a hit on it, they might keep it priced at MSRP to make sure the 2019 sells and then lower the price on the 2017. I don't own a dealership, so that is merely a guess.
  12. Greetings, Starfighter. You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-dan Armada.
  13. You will never be accepted into the WingDing Club.
  14. Sorry, Kent. This bike has made me grumpy and mean. I can't explain it. It just has this weird vibe like it used to be ridden by a fucking dickhead and his negative energy is still exuding hate from the grips. I hope it wears off soon.
  15. What are you talking about?
  16. Took the Whaleasaurus out for a few miles in the valley. Getting used to the weight and relaxed ergos was comical. My muscle memory kept my legs reaching behind the seat to shift, but most everything else fell into place relatively quickly. I am in love with cruise control and the stereo is also quite a nice feature. I like this bike way more than I thought I would. When the hell did I get so old?
  17. You know... I have not named a bike since the 748. So, any name I give it should be enough to show I respect it.
  18. My cats (Mouse and Hesher) onced lived happily as inside cats that went outside whenever they pleased. Then, Mouse decided he didn't want to use the litter box and began shitting on the floor in the basement. He and his counterpart are now permanent outside cats. Life is better with outside cats. He also likes being close to the garage. He feels safer knowing there is a giant Kawasaurus Rex inside to keep him safe.
  19. I rode a Pacific Coast down US-250 and then a twisty road to Wytheville. Then rode it all day in GA and then home again. It was more competent than I was in the corners. Comfortable, too.
