I read the local news on the Fox8 and WEWS sites each morning and am astounded by how consistently poorly they are written.

They actually are superior to any local radio and/or television news network, as far as accuracy, grammatical errors, and syntactical mistakes. A friend of mine is a videographer for WEWS, and told me much of their online news copy is sent to Pakistan for editing due to costs. Ridiculous.

There was a feature story about this bill yesterday afternoon on NPR, which included expert testimony from an ENT doctor about the dangers of wind noise. They also cited several studies which refuted the assertion that ear plugs blocked critical sounds such as sirens. I was expecting this to be followed by an interview with Tonik . . . The story can still be accessed on the NPR web site.

I read an article about how Trump is weaponizing the presidency after his acquittal, and agree with you two--Pelosi will undoubtedly be the unwitting star of Trump attack ads. She handed them a loaded gun, and they WILL use it. Jen is right; Pelosi's impetuous and very public act is something one would expect from a second grade classroom.

I'm not a big fan of Trump, but watching Pelosi rip up those speeches was truly shocking--and somehow embarrassing.

Jen, you have the right attitude! Nobody who is "let go" is happy about it initially IMHO. The old adage "being fired was the best thing that ever happened to me!" rings hollow for many, but is also true in many cases. The question to ask yourself in retrospect might be, "why would I want to work for a company that treats employees this way?" The jobless rate really is at an all-time low now. I'm glad you found something satisfactory, but fortunately for all of us, and because of the low unemployment rate, there will be several other opportunities for you in the foreseeable future. We all know that the days of working for a single firm your entire career are long gone.
