Your AE doesnt count in any of my remarks because a) we did your swap and the car was cool as hell and b) i would put up the same bets up with your car vs either of the other two AE86s in question. Rane would still get ya from a roll im afraid (even if we snuck in a 150-shot with that tranny lol) but the added power would make it a MUCH better contender on a roadcourse... Jeff
-
LOL -- sorry, im talking about Jeff (screen name JCBCPA) with the red 300Z 2+2 on here
-
Oh, its not open-ended -- unless of course you go pick up an AE86 Not like id throw that out to any Z06 or Viper or 911 around. Regardless, id still bet that Jeff would more than hold his own in his 2+2 out at MidOhio and id bet on Rane even-up on a roll race as well no matter what you buy (no offense, but both cars are that good) Now, spotting 10 cars from a roll I would have to be REALLY OVERLY confident (hint hint) to do that and unless you pick up something with less than 300hp stock that probably wont happen. Even getting a nice jump in roll-racing is huge so 10 would be a bit much... Jeff
-
Id like to make a wager (assuming youd ever show to race either) that not only would Jeff nearly half-track you out at MidOhio but that Rane will destroy you in a 55mph roll-race including an automatic 10-car spot. Basically, it would be something along the lines of "Just Go" and hed wait about 7-8 seconds or so (by the time your taillights are starting to get nice and small) and then come around you like you hit a wall. Sound fair? And since that leaves just Auto-X as your saving grace as soon as the season starts next year you can run yet another customers 300ZX TT in which you might actually have a chance. Auto-x is 95% driver so id automatically say youd lose for sure, but since Auto-x takes away any advantages a 3:1 power favor has its not quite a complete lock. However, to make this bet even worth considering on your end ill take this one as well. I dont drive either car so i have no bias one way or the other aside that both Jeff and Rane are customers of mine and i know a sure thing when i see it I think it will be fun for you to see the whole "weight vs horsepower" arguement live and in color lol. How much are we betting?

Ahhhhhhh--now i get it. Thanks man

You trying to explain something you posted? NO WAY lol. My gibberish dictionary isnt at the shop so thank you. Just a FYI--i didnt get all quiet once you "launched it" because you ran whatever @ whatever--i could care less. I dont get into these little debates with someone too dumb to live because there is no amount of logic or reason or even straight facts that ever sink in so its a COMPLETE waste of my time. Been there, Done that--no thanks. Let me simplify what I posted for you so that your cat wont have to explain it to you (there are wayyyy too many words up there with more than 3 letters in them): 1) You bring your car down here (we all know it wont make it if you drive so borrow a truck and trailer) and race Tilley 2) *IF* your piece still runs after your beating, you can race my car via whatever terms you dream up (IE: 100 roll, backwards, 80-120, whatever). 3) Ill wager whatever your allowance can afford and we will run them. Better hope it snows a lot up there this winter because youre going to need the extra money
-
Im not going to bother trying to figure out who you are talking about (me only race at the track? LOL) but bring your sled down come spring time and *if* your piece doesnt grenade itself losing to Tilley by more cars than id care to even count ill be more than happy to run you in my car--dig, roll, whatever. Deal? Jeff
-
It actually has already dynoed over 650fwhp so it sucks to turn back now but i just cant get anyone to drive it lol. Anyone want a half-primered tempo to race the colt in for cheap?
-
Not to interrupt all the shit-talking but i was just going to let everyone know that we have $741 and countless hours into "Project Tempo" only to realize its a giant POS. Soooooo. We picked up a different, Nissan, RWD, POS and will be playing with it over the winter to call out anyone that wants some come spring It will carry on the legacy that would have been the IPS Tempo save for the fact that its wayyyyy less gay and will be even faster and wont be a Tempo and wont be FWD and pulling the front wheels is cool. Our total budget for this project will be less than $2k so 9s or bust !!!

Depending on your taste i can get very good deals on many popular brands like 5Zigen, Enkei, TSW, Black Racing, Roja, and a few other lesser sold brands. On the pricier side i also do Volk, HRE, Work, etc etc. Let me know if there is anything specific you are looking for... Jeff

He got sideways on the first run and the next *maybe* a little but the last full run i know Brett said was closer to 65-70mph and Ant doesnt get loose at all. You can tell becaue he actually leaves with them (Brett & Tilley) for a change and then gets pulled instead of it just being an instant 5 car spot every race...

To the little bitch in the white 3000GT or Stealth or wtf it was.
Turbotrio replied to lemosley01's topic in Dumpster
Yeah, its a Pitroad-M but has the Apexi N1 look to it--thats probably him as im sure there arent many VR4 Spyders in columbus (let alone white ones). Not that it really matters, but is this 3000 even a VR4? -

Turbotrio replied to lemosley01's topic in Dumpster
Not to interrupt but just wanted to say it wasnt me or either of the other white TT Stealths in the shop now Ive got a customer with a white VR4 spyder but pretty sure it wasnt him (even though the car made 500awhp he rarely drives it hard) and i cant think of any others off the top of my head.... -
Nissian parts websites--LIST THEM NOW!!!
Turbotrio replied to Jelloman4571647545499's topic in Passing Lane
If youre talking about performance parts vs just used stuff i dont think there is anything i cant get for the car. Shoot me an email at: sales@ipsmotorsports.net if you want to ask about anything in particular. Jeff -
Now its $3000? LOL. Your Sig its $2k, on other forums its $4k, and now its $3k. Not that $500 total would be hard to believe with the masterpiece you have created. You really should write a "how to" book for all the DSMers out there trying to Dyno 500whp for less than $73 It would be a best-seller overnight if you could only spell more than two words in a row correctly. As it stands it would just torture them. Its like a secret code or an ancient map to hidden treasure. The answers to all that they seek are right there and yet they cant understand a damn word of it lol. Maybe the book thing isnt such a good idea after all... It would be a horrible thing to add up all the receipts and then factor in paying yourself the $4/hr that you make at your "real job" for the countless hours of "fabrication" youve had to spend to find youve got well over $20k in the ol colt huh? Race gas damn near free up there? Slicks, Dyno time, an engine rebuild, who knows how many tranny swaps, clutches, and on an on. No wonder you dont have any cash left over for the 14" spinners you wanted to put on last spring Oh, and before you post how every part on your car was free or close to it save it. I already know you bought each weisco piston individually for $2-3 (found one on ebay, found one in some shops dumpster and it looked like it would work, and then got 2 for free that were out of something else but spent 137 hours "fabricating" them to fit) and each rod was free from some other colt guy that realized the mistake he was making before they were put in so he just gave them to you. You let your machine shop guy swim at the pool on the weekends for free so he bored your block out for you. You showed him where the little hole in the wall was for the changing room so he even balanced it and put it all together for you as well--nice guy he is . Your pretty tubular exhaust manifold was 99% off because you put a tack-weld on it so you got it for $3.42. Sheetmetal intake was JB welded back together after someone blew it apart with nitrous so that only took a few hours and like $2 for the JB. Injectors and fuel pump were out of a 72 Lincoln that after hours of research you found actually flowed freakishly close to the 720cc and Walbro 255LPH that all those other fools pay top dollar for--you got the Continental parts for free cuz the guy at the junkyard had no idea what he had. Turbo and FMIC came off a school bus that was rusting away out behind some farmers place. You had to make multiple trips out to BFE late at night to get them off but hey, didnt have to pay anything for them and even lucked out and got your 4.5" exhaust while you were as well. Im sure you have 10-15 spare trannys laying around your bedroom at any given time from adoring colt owners everywhere that need to see your car out beating Exotics on the weekend so that they have an ounce of ammunition to fight all the "rich kids" online with real DSMs that all say the colt is a useless shitbox. Im sure youre still on the stock clutch because any car that still spins the front tires from a 100-roll will never need a clutch--roxxers. Slicks were off a 73 Vega that was rusted to the ground but rubber doesnt rust right? Dry-rot Smy-rot -- they hold air so what the hell! Your cage started life as a set of monkey bars on a childrens playground but since the kids never really used it anyway....One hundred and fifty-one hours later its a work of art welded with such skill its like quarters lined up all in a row. Gutting the shitbox like a fish only took a few hours and it was even fun to find all the holes in the floorboard and you even found enough change under the carpets to pay for the used gauges off ebay--ChaChing! Your AFC was traded to a fellow colt guy online for a timeslip so all the V8 guys would start sweatin his little pony as well. The rest of the car needs no explanation as to how it costs less than $20, its obvious from 15 feet away. It all adds up perfectly so no need for explanation Turning all those free parts into a rolling death-trap that can beat a Ferrari --Priceless
-
The 14-second whale even has that covered--i thought the car was fast?
-
Actually i was just joking with the "throw as many parts as you can at it" thing -- its from a sig over on 3si. "You have 2 choices. A) You can select a well chosen group of parts that not only will make the power you expect but will work well together and then tune them to 99% of their capabilities, or B) You can just throw so many parts at it the car has no choice but to go fast" A is quite a bit cheaper
-
Oh, i wasnt saying you ran poorly--just putting a face to a boardname Just because you spent some money on the car doesnt mean its exponentially faster all the sudden. As the car gets faster it will get harder and harder to drive -- just go back out and youll get the hang of it. A year ago my car ran a 14.0 and you were my first race since then. Without any major parts changes (clutch being the biggie) i dropped 2 seconds with just getting used to the car and getting the bugs worked out. Hang in there--itll get quicker. Otherwise do what i do and throw so many parts at it that it has no choice but to get faster eventually
-
You werent in the Blue Jetta that i ran (White VR4) by any chance were you? Just curious...
-
The Viper ended up running a 9.2 @ 157 at the end of the day
-
Cut off for the Quick-4 was like an 11.90 i believe but Andy will have to post as to what he ran to win the finals. I think there were 7-8 of us total in the 11s and i believe Alex's STI had the best pass of the day with an 11.3 @ 13x
-
No problem man--i got to check it out in the staging lanes a couple times and she was looking very nice. Love seeing "Show quality" cars able to be running low 11s at the same time. That powdercoating is purty We didnt end up staying to the very end (somehow i red-lighted on my last qualifying pass ?) and so we packed it up around 8:30. I called back to get updates and heard you ended up winning it last night -- Congratulations!
-
We had a lot of fun and everybodys cars ran well and all drove back home at the end of the day = the win. Mike & I just proved that you cant go out and drag race once a year and expect to make clean passes all day lol. Damn i was rusty-- most 60s were in the 1.8s and 1.9s and missed shifts here and there. My best 60-ft of the day was a 1.72 (and then a 1.74 so i started getting a little better as the day went on. My VR4 went 11.62 @ 119 (Clutch held at the launch but not on top) Mikes EVO went 11.9x @ 121 (That was STILL with missing 2nd) Jeremys Stealth ran 12.89 @ 113 on like less than no boost Tank won the auto-x with his 200SX (in his fwd class) Customers 300ZX won an award in the car show All-and-all we proved we arent hard-core drag racers but we got in close to 10 passes each and had a good time. Met a bunch of people all day so it was well worth the frustration of crappy launches and missed shifts... Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and complimented the cars and such. Jeff
