  1. Now that was funny. Especially when he started fucking up Polamalu's name...
  2. The way I see it, is that #1 Clemson has to beat #7 Miami to knock them out. They are right below OSU, so we need them gone. #6 Georgia has to beat #2 Auburn (who has two losses) to knock them out. TCU beats #3 Oklahoma to knock them out. And OSU beating Wisconsin knocks them out. So the Playoffs would then consist of Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, and OSU. But now people will bitch that OSU is in it, and that there are two SEC teams...
  3. So what has to happen for OSU to get in? Not that I think they should or will, but I'd be interested in hearing opinions on how this weekend needs to go...
  4. More good replies. 16 years ago when I joined this site, I probably would have got into some heated responses, but now I'm old and don't give a fuck. If I didn't make it clear, this is nothing more than a winter / rainy day driver. The SUV is mostly my wife's, and the rest only see salt free, dry roads as best as they can. I don't have car payments, and this car had 45K miles and was $6K, not $8K. I don't mind driving something like this in the crappy weather and for the most part, not giving a shit about it. Someone suggested a couple of GM based vehicles. The last two GM cars I owned bricked (Cavalier) or almost bricked (Envoy) on me. So I'm pretty soured with GM right now. My G8 has been a rock star so far, thankfully. I was pretty set on getting as close to 40 MPG as I could, hence the Yaris or Fiesta. I looked at the Fit and Mazda 2, but they just didn't get the MPG I wanted. And I've always been mostly a Ford guy, etc.
  5. No, keep piling on, it's fun to read. I rarely use the cruise in my commute due to traffic. Manual window crank, whatever.
  6. They could, I just like the trunk space on the sedan better than the hatchback. We actually rented one when we were in Florida this past Summer.
  7. Check my sig, I drive a bunch of other shit. This is the MPG beater, nothing more...
  8. And since you brought up the automatics, the reviews for them were not good. All kinds of transmission issues. Even a class action lawsuit against Ford. However any review I found for the manuals was great. Hence I bought that one...
  9. I have a somewhat long commute (to me anyway) of 50-60 miles a day, so I've been wanting to get a decent economy car for a while now. I had been driving my SVT Contour for about two years as the daily beater, but that wasn't in my long term plans. I wanted something approaching or above 40 MPG without getting a hybrid or Smart Car. I also wanted a 5 speed and that of course limits it even more. I debated between a Yaris and Fiesta, but finding either in a sedan form (in case the family rides in it) with a manual transmission is really tough. I also didn't want to spend more than $8K. So last week I picked up a 2013 Ford Fiesta. This isn't the exact car, but it's the same exact color and trim level: http://wease.net/pics/2013%20Fiesta.jpg It's the base model and it's literally as basic as you can get. Crank windows, no CD player, no cruise. About the only options are power mirrors, tilt, and an aux port for your MP3 player. I drove it back from Michigan this past weekend and got 43 MPG out of it. The dealership had it for a few months because people just can't drive a stick anymore...
  10. Still for sale. Giving it another few weeks and then I'll try again in the Spring.

    Buffalo, NY

If you have time and have never been, at some point you absolutely must go to the Falls on the Canada side. You're not too far a drive from Buffalo. I grew up in Rochester, about an hour from Buffalo and have been to Buffalo / Niagara Falls more times than I can count...
  12. I just missed this crash. I drove by not that much earlier while taking my son to hockey practice in Dublin. I'll drive by again tonight and get a good look at the aftermath...

    RIP Tom Petty

Very saddened by this. He was one of my favorites. I saw him and Joe Walsh just a few months ago here in Columbus...
  14. Still for sale, listed on CL and Cars.com now as well.
  15. LMAO, reading his hawk thread is literally why I dug this one up. I realized it was the same dude and wanted an update...
  16. Any update on this? This and the first thread were fun to read...
  17. Probably way below what you're looking to drive, but for basic transportation with killer MPG and rock solid reliability, it's tough to beat a Toyota Yaris. If you can find them for sale. The last generation came in a sedan and the 5 speeds routinely get 40 MPG or more on the highway. But of course, you're looking at a basic Toyota with not a lot of features. I've been working on locating one since I drive 50-60 miles to work / gym almost everyday.
  18. The air suspension in my Infiniti QX56 has stopped working. Pump won't ever come on. I've replaced the pump, checked the fuses, checked the relays, a few other things. I really want to avoid taking it to a dealer, so I'm hoping one of the shops on here can look at it, or someone knows someone who can. Anyone?

  20. The moon is blocking out the sun, like 88% coverage here in Columbus. It's been 99 years since a coast to coast Total Eclipse, so it's kind of a big deal.
  21. Custom mask and glasses complete with bleeding eyes from staring at the sun, ready to go: http://wease.net/pics/EclipseGlasses.jpg
