  1. Since I still have to be at work, I've been going out at lunch and running, walking, or roller blading around the Arena District. It's been pretty dead, but there were more people out yesterday. Roller blading has been nice, because there's so few cars and people out, I'm not in really in any danger of running into anyone...
  2. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but this is a great interactive map: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html On that map, they have JUST started to update the US Recovered Cases. As of today, the US has a 1.45% Death Rate, based on the numbers there. However, this doesn't include the thousands of cases that were not reported and people have already recovered. I'm sure there have been many that already got it, didn't get tested, didn't go to the hospital, and were able to recover on their own. Of course we'll never know those numbers.
  3. LOL, stupid auto-correct...
  4. I have the same letter. I'll keep it in whatever car I'm driving to work in my crazy fast Corona Commute. However, what other restrictions can there be? Other than Marshall Law, this is it. All nonessential businesses have closed. Other than police / military patrolling the streets, I believe we've hit the max of what we can do.
  5. Well that depends on where they are going. My company / plant will have an exception and I'll be going to work because we manufacture essential nutritional products that hospitals use. All of our lines are running full out right now to keep up with demand.
  6. Finally some good news: Talked to my manager in our tier meeting this morning, he had a call with one of our China groups and they are back in the office, the virus is started to subside there. Nice to hear it right from the source and not the news.
  7. I for one 100% support his speaker response. They make noise, I make noise back. See who blinks first. Police aren't coming out for that sort of complaint.
  8. LOL, love how you threw that in there...
  9. I stopped at Walmart last night on my way home from work, the one on Sawmill Rd. It was a freaking madhouse. I literally only stopped for some milk and a birthday gift for a party this weekend. Lines were crazy long, people were ransacking the paper goods aisle for anything, and my favorite: People with carts full of bottled water. Do they think the water in their faucet is just going to stop working?! I didn't want to wait in line for my 2 items, so I convinced the guy working the paint department to check me out...
  10. With everything closing including OSU, I've been enjoying my new "Corona Commute" to work. Stupid fast with little traffic...
  11. Take care of yourself, live a healthy life, you won't have anything to worry about. Not scared. More media bullshit...

    Texas

One of my Air Force friends lives in Austin and he says the California invasion is real and he hates it. Same thing going on in Phoenix. As long as our shitty winter keeps those nutbags away from Columbus, I'm staying here...
  13. The dash lights have been broken in my '86 for a while now, I'd love to tackle that, but I have very little experience in diagnosing wiring issues. There's always other little things on that car that could be fixed, such as the rear speakers, rear defrost, and the fog lights don't work anymore. The biggest "for sure" fix needs to be the gas tank. It's got a leak in it when you fill it past the 1/2 way mark. I've got the new tank, just have to put it in. As for the Cobra, there is a bad ABS module and I've also got a new clutch cable, as the stock one is finally starting to rattle / break down. So no performance mods, just upkeep shit...
  14. Do you have another car to drive while your car is fixed? If so, here's a way to make some extra money: Make sure you submit a receipt for your "car that you rented from a friend." They have to cover a car rental for you and that's a way to get some extra cash out of it...
  15. Interesting. I considered looking at one when I was trying to find a winter beater that I could drive back and forth from Powell to downtown, as I put 50-60 miles a day on a car for work. I really wanted something 40+ MPG and a 5 speed, but the online reviews of the Mirage were shit. So I tried hard to find a previous generation Yaris sedan, as they are a great value, but ended up with my 2013 Fiesta instead. Thankfully my Fiesta is a 5 speed, so I was spared all of the transmission issues the rest of the world is seeing. It's been a decent car, a couple of minor issues, but I'm averaging 41-44 MPG and it's great in the snow. When we get snow...
  16. I'm not on FB anymore, so are they talking about shutting the site down?
  17. Don't have the same car I joined with, but I have had my '86 GT for 15+ years now, so about 3 years after I joined this site. I technically have 3 "fun" cars with a couple of other daily drivers mixed in.
  18. Yeah, I have no idea on that one. I was coming home from hockey practice on 42 heading towards Delaware. He was on the side of the road and pulled out right after me. I wasn't "speeding" (maybe 58 in a 55?), so I figured it had to be the tint or no front plate. And yup, that's what it was.
  19. Ah, OK. I figured the officer would know for sure, but I didn't even ask or push my luck.
  20. So currently I'm assuming you still need 2 plates? I was pulled over in my G8 a few weeks ago for no front plate and dark window tint. Got off with a warning, but I was under the impression you didn't need a front plate now? Unless these bills get some traction, of course. I wasn't going to question the officer (Union county sheriff), I was too busy kissing his ass and showing my military ID to get out of the ticket...
  21. Also people that do as a little as possible to clean off their car really piss me off. A scrape here and there, and fuck it, I'm good, let's get driving. Clean all your windows off, you lazy, unsafe POS...
  22. That's a huge pet peeve of mine. I passed some woman this morning who apparently doesn't know what a rear defrost is, or how to work it... :fuuuu:
  23. I've done this a few times, or rather you beat them to the punch. I was filling up at the Giant Eagle at 161 and 71 (before it closed down, this was probably 7-8 years ago) and some guy walked up to me and started to say something and I said "Hey, do you have any cash? I need it for this gas." and he just closed his mouth and walked away...
  24. That actually seems to be a pretty reasonable price for that...
