  1. I sent a PM to Brady. I am also trying to find info on converting to 07+ front brakes. They get 13" rotors instead of 12". Baer sells a +1 kit, but it is basically 13" rotors and two brackets that allow you to run your stock calipers, at over $500 is a bit hefty of a fee for what you get.
  2. Almost...try all with money leftover. Gumpert's MSRP = 260,000 Euro = ~370,000. That's enough to easily buy all 3 w/ taxes, and money to spare. Not exactly a fair comparison by any stretch. And all 3 of those cars compared are WAY more of a street car than the Gumpert.
  3. Rub her nose in it??
  4. I need to upgrade the front brakes on my Avalanche. Stock, they suck, especially when towing. I warped the originals at 80k-ish miles (didn't have trailer brakes hooked up at the time + heavy load). Swapped with Auto-Zone specials, 30k later they are badly warped again. I will be flushing the brake fluid and replacing it with something else. I don't know what fluid I will go with, probably just standard Auto-Parts store stuff. But I really need to do something more about these brakes. Stock, it has 12" rotors in the front, 13" in the rear. They have two pistion calipers in all corners...you'd "think" they would be decent. I don't quite grasp why the fronts are smaller than the rear. I need the brakes to perform BETTER than stock. - Pad suggestions? Everyone seems to like Hawk pads, and they have a line of truck pads, so I was figuring on going with those. That said, they have 4 different pads for the Avalanche: HPS Performance Street, Performance Ceramic, LTS, and Superduty. I'm not fully sure which one I should choose. Now I am at the should I just upgrade the rotors with the good pads, try to go with an over-size rotor conversion kit, or spend a bunch of money on an aftermarket front brake kit. I really don't want to dump a lot of money into this, but don't want to flush money down the drain with something that has no improvement. Staying with stock-size rotors (cheapest route), brakeperformance.com has rotors for my truck for $130/pair...slotted, cross drilled, you name it. But I am not familiar with them. A lot of the Avalanche people on the Av forum (though I don't really fully trust their opinions), run the Durastop rotors, or the Raybestos (they are the same rotor). Brembo also sells an Avalanche front rotor (a cross drilled and a slotted one) for $231/pair, which didn't seem too bad for a Brembo rotor. Then there are the number of aftermarket brake kits, though some require going with a larger wheel (I have 17" stock rims), and I don't want to do that. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  5. I saw that car today (well, could be, hard to tell if it was a 550 or 575M driving 50MPH in the opposite direction) at 10:40 going N on 315 just north of 270. Saw the same car near my house a couple weeks ago. I also saw a yellow F430 Spyder yesterday on my way home too. Me likes.
  6. I would say no. I am making more than I ever have (well, if you look at cost of living now vs. 2001-02, then maybe the same/less). I have spent more money this year that I ever have previously. Last year I think was my 2nd biggest spending year. Same goes for my wife. We have cut back on some things (don't eat out nearly as much), but it has nothing to do with recession, but more to do with all of the other money we have spent this year. Hell, we are flying to Mexico in less than 2 week for an all-inclusive resort. This recession has made some stuff very cheap.
  7. So you are going to swap out to an all-aluminum frame, carbon fiber roof, etc?? Yes, you can get a standard C6 to outperform a ZR1 at all levels. And I will also bet you don't get it to be as reliable, comfortable, probably worse fuel mileage, and will probably weigh more unless you start pulling a number of comforts/safety items.
  8. And your car has much better brakes too.......
  9. No, post it on Craigslist saying I need an E-mail in less than an hour, get 10 e-mails, and have it gone right away to someone who actually needed it.
  10. Yeah, because I want a big burn mark in my yard. No. Anyone else...I want this gone in the next couple of hours. Fuck, I will drive to Pataskala for free at this point. I need to use my trailer today. I live in Powell, so I will be driving from there...I will be back home in an hour.
  11. I had a LARGE triangle fence in the back corner of our property, where the previous owners kept Saint Benards or something (don't know, forclosed homes). I kept the back two sides, as it lines the property, but the front side was an eyesore, couldn't get the mower back there, and sucked in general. Here is a pic of the fence that remains: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=168&pictureid=2786 Same wood pulled, other than a POS gazebo entrance. The fence posts are almost all broken, due to them putting an 8' post 4' into the ground (literally 4'...some with concrete even). A few came out of the ground intact. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=168&pictureid=2784 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=168&pictureid=2785 I need this gone ASAP...sooner the better. I need to use my car hauler as soon as I can, and this wood is more than in the way. I will deliver within reason (I live in Powell...I'm not driving to Pataskala for free). Free...you just do the unloading; I will help. Build with it, burn it...I don't give a crap, I need it gone. I may even deliver TODAY. I am leaving for a couple of hours; if there is a response when I get back (PM me your phone number), I will haul it off this afternoon.
  12. GM has been doing body in white for years...this is nothing new. No one cares about your obsession with Ford and how it is so much better than GM (which they aren't).
  13. Anyone notice who the husband's lawyer is? Dominic Barbara, a semi-friend of Howard Stern and a regular caller on the show (who they give shit to on a regular basis - MAYDAY, MAYDAY!!!). Good lawyer though...... Sad story overall. I have a feeling there is a significant amount of money involved with this situation.
  14. Yes, just PM me your issue. Watching Heroes, it looked pretty good (DVD quality), with network utilization of 3-4Mbps. Put on Hancock...same network use, yet that little bit of chop I was talking about. Broken Arrow didn't use nearly the bandwidth (1-2Mbps), didn't have the chop of Hancock, but didn't look that great.
  15. I totally forgot about your PM, I will respond tomorrow when I get in the office. So what is your video quality on the 360? DVD quality, a little less...what? I just played with it a little more. It seems that Stepbrothers was a bad example to test on. I tried Hancock on both the PC and the PS3, and they looked similar. But the issue is still it looks really compressed. I have the movie on DVD, and it looks a LOT better; video is a little smoother, sound is better of course, the colors are more vibrant, the picture is more crisp. And that's just DVD. The movie just looks really compressed on Netflix. Does anyone have any idea how big the movie files from them are? That's a really easy way to tell how good the video is going to be.
  16. I have Netflix, and decided to try out the Instant que. Sony doesn't have the deal Microsoft has w/ Netflix, so the only way I've found to use Netflix with the PS3 is using a program called PlayOn. The program was simple to setup, and seems to work fine. My question is video quality. It deems my internet connection high (stuck w/ an 8Mbps Warner connection ), but that doesn't seem to be an issue. I'm not even close to maxing out my CPU when streaming, everything is hardwired for the network connection...plus I regularly stream ripped Bluray movies without any network issues, so the LAN bandwidth is there for sure. The issue is the video is just slightly choppy. You notice it a lot in action stuff, where it isn't as smooth as it could be. Audio is fine (lame 2 channel audio), but the video just seems over-compressed. I wanted to make sure this is a Netflix thing, and not something PS3 related. I ask because when I streamed w/ their browser player, it looks like total dog-crap, and looks a lot better through the PS3 on our TV. I want to make sure there isn't anything else I may be missing, or if it is an issue with the PlayOn software vs. a Netflix issue. The video quality is watchable, but honestly I could only see me using this for like a comedy DVD or something like that...a movie is just not good enough quality for me to watch it without constantly noticing. The quality to me looks like taking a movie and compressing it to 300 Meg...just too compressed.
  17. Yeah, I took a quick glance at Autotrader and Craigslist, and couldn't find anything locally even close to that price, so it doesn't surprise me that this thing has issues. I think the right thing to do would be e-mail the buyer, and let them know the shaddy crap this dealer was pulling + the true condition of the vehicle. Not that I'd suggest buying something like that anyway, but that's just me I guess.......
  18. How do you tihnk a number of criminals are caught? Nail them for a traffic violation, find out they have warrents on them, and take them in. They likely couldn't pull the plate if the car was running...car could be stolen. Just because CNN isn't given that info doesn't mean there isn't more to the story.
  19. I am going to guess that if those people that ran were driving a car they stole from you, your tune would change dramatically. Or if those same people in the car had just robbed/raped your mother. Or were wanted for killing someone in your family. All of a sudden, it becomes a whole different story, doesn't it? People normally run because they are innocent. They usually run because they have done something (beyond the traffic citation) that they don't want to be caught for.
  20. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=210&pictureid=1287 Really? We enjoyed ours in Vegas a few months ago. I wouldn't own one, but it was pretty cool.

    Everclear

I'd be interested in a bottle or two. I like to blow fireballs with it, and would like to make some Hairy Buffalo with it.
  22. https://performancemanager4.successfactors.com/career I did a couple interviews for Broadband Technicans this past week. Never hurts to send your resume in.
  23. WOW, that sucks. I know how it feels to have bad luck on a move...helped 2 buddies movie to FL a few years ago; let's just say it ended up with a totalled S-10 and Grand-Am (S-10 was towing the Grand-Am), dual-trailer Semi damaged, 5k bill to tow everything out of the ravine, U-Haul trailer that seized a wheel bearing, broken driveshaft U-joint on another vehicle (which was then repaired and broke again a mile later), damaged 355 motor on the K5 that was being towed behind the U-haul truck until the accident. But at least we didn't have some BS like that; and had 4 of us to deal with the problems. Long moves can go well, or suck a fatty. Luckily your brother in-law was okay. The accident on the move I was part of, from the highway it looked like my buddy was a goner, but not a scratch on him.
  24. Hmmm, let me talk to the wife today. We planned to buy a slate table in the next few months. This might be an alright alternative. What is the condition of it? Any scratches or marks on the table/felt? What condition are the accessories in? Any other pics?
  25. No, with the poor economy, companies need to do anything possible to retain their current customer base...especially those that pay their bill. I only wish Verizon offered a plan with less anytime minutes to save a few bucks. My wife and I are on a family plan, lowest anytime minutes available, and still never come close to usesing them (most of the people we talk to for any period of time have Verizon).
