Condition of dyno, kind of dyno, corrected vs uncorrected numbers, and a number of other factors can have an impact on what kind of numbers a car puts down.

Me and my roomate drove through Schott around 10 or so, but was mostly a bunch of rice, and didn't bother stopping. Jegs had nothing but a bunch of old people. Was "said" Z28 a 30th Anv. edition? If so, we saw him parked out there, and on High St. earlier in the evening.

Twin turbo 403 Z06 - Progress Pics. Discuss.
Nitrousbird replied to Dr. Pomade's topic in Passing Lane
I'm curious as to why you didn't go with an already established turbo kit? Such as the PTK twin-turbo setup. PTK stuff has been proven time and again, and I've heard nothing but praise for them in the Mustang and F-body camps (fastest LT1, an 8 flat in the 170's on a 398ci motor, runs a PTK kit for instance). Sure would have saved a TON of development time. My only guess was cost, but I assumed having IPS fab the kit up probably isn't cheap either. I'm not bashing IPS, John, or anyone else; rather just curious on the decision. -
As part of my profession, I go all over Franklin county. And I mean EVERWHERE....there isn't a part of this town I haven't been in multiple times. Hell, I know where all the zip codes lie around here. There isn't a single place in Columbus I wouldn't go alone in during daylight hours (and I'm just your regular ol' white guy). Even bad areas like 43203, 43205, 43222 (mostly heavy-duty white trash there), uzzi alley (Bexley by James/Broad), Hilltop, parts of 43201 (campus zip), etc. Now at night time, there are a few areas I wouldn't be comfortable going thru on foot, but that's about it. If you want diversity, Bexley would have by far the most in Franklin county. From the nastiest of neighborhoods all the way up to some of the nicest homes in town, and everything in between, Bexley has it all. I wouldn't dare live there, but it sure has plenty of diversty in an economic sense.

Kings Island used to be awesome pre-Paramount days. It USED to be that Cedar Point and Kings Island would try to one-up eachother on rides every year. I find it funny that people are complaining about ticket prices though. Take a trip to Universal Orlando. You think prices are bad here: try $79/ticket after tax. I wish I was kidding. Parking was still $9, and food was as expensive/more expensive than the Ohio parks. What's even worse, Universal's rides pretty much sucked. They had one 2 real coasters, and though good, nothing that Cedar Point and Kings Island don't have. They had a few copy-cat rides (power-tower type thing, water rides, etc.). Then they had their movie ride stuff, which most weren't all that thrilling, and few downright sucked. Actually, most of that stuff looked better on TV shows about Universal Studios than the rides were in person. Oh, did I mention they close at 7:00PM too!!! Grass is always greener on the other side, until you SEE the other side! I spent the whole day thinking for about 1/2 the cost, I could be at Cedar Point, which is 10x better.

So I purchased Maddox's new book (for those who don't know who he is: http://maddox.xmission.com/ ). Amazon is shipping it early; it's not supposed to even be sold until early June, but my copy arrived today. I've only read a small portion of it, but so far the book is quite funny, and I can already tell it will be a worthwhile read. Amazon has it for $9.57 in hardback. I added Tucker Maxx's newest book and Artie Lange's DVD to get over the $25 mark for free shipping. I suggest checking it out.

IMO the Mustang feels like I'm sitting too high up; I don't like the seating position (that includes the Cobra and my turd). This might have something to do with my height (6'3"), but I feel FAR more comfortable in an F-body and Y-body than I do in a Mustang. If you want to sit up high, buy a truck.

I've never read the book, and thought the movie was decent. Wasn't hard to follow at all, but was fairly predictable too. Hanks did a good job, as usual. Something worth watching once, but I don't see me buying it on DVD. It was a tad long too; they could have trimmed a bit of fat out of the movie without hurting the story line.

The interior of a 94 Mustang is VERY similar to an 04 Cobra FYI. And I don't like the Cobra's seats.

You have to be kidding, right? I'm stuck w/ Sprint for my work phone; you could honestly give me a free contract w/ a free phone, and I wouldn't use it, it sucks THAT badly. There have been countless times I've had to whip out my personal phone (Verizon), because I couldn't make a call w/ my Sprint setup, or the stupid Sprint phone would drop calls constantly. We are talking in-town stuff too. Oh, so you think it is my phone, do you? Did it with my Samsung I330, and both I500's I've had (my first I500 had a screen issue). My co-worked all report the same thing; a bunch with Treo's (mostly Palm based one, though a couple Windows Treo users have also described this), and my boss's Razor-type phone also does it. It's not the phones, its the crappy service. Their data service is unreliable as hell too, which sucks, because I use it a lot.

Never said they didn't like the front seat..........

Eagle did my 3" true-dual setup (currently dumping at the axle). Did a good job, especially w/ a couple of the challenges he had to work w/ on my car.

The one guy was on the show twice; lost his bike in one race, and almost lost his Mustang in another race (ended up everyone agreed to a "draw"). The guy w/ the chin hair was on the first season with the Wolly Mammoth, and won that episode (he owns his own shop), and seems far more knowledgable than the other guy. IMO the show is interesting, and you get to see some creative things going on by different teams. The sandbagging is getting pretty bad now. The imports have done an impressive job of being pretty pathetic on the show. I feel they need to start getting a bit more selective on what cars they allow to run.

My Moostang is fully loaded, and though the seats are quite adjustable, they aren't anything to write home about. I've sat in a couple 03/04 Cobra's, and honestly I didn't like the seats very much. I've taken a C5 on a road trip, and can say without a doubt the seats are FAR more comfortable than my Moostang's. I don't have any kids, so the back seat is about as worthless as they come. I've found chicks aren't overly impressed riding in the back of it.........

Luckily the C6 Z06, which is a FAR better car, is only being marked up to about 80k on a loaded 70k car. If it meant 70k for this new Mustang or 80k for a loaded C6 Z06, that's 10k very well spent. You keep touting this Mustangs new power (and from a quick google, I've seen nothing said over 475HP, but I could believe 500), but forget that the weight estimates are 3900+ lbs (and people call the GTO heavy!). That's 300+ lbs more than the 03-04 Cobra.

Please explain this one. The back seat of a Mustang is pretty much useless. I throw stuff back there in mine, or in the trunk; I don't try to torture people by making them sit back there. If it didn't look so retarded in a Mustang (and the fact I have no reason to mod the slow thing any further), I'd just pull out the rear seats like I did in my Formula. Hell, comparing the front seat of a Mustang to a C5 or C6, the Mustang is pretty pathetic in terms of comfort, and especially space.
-
Damn that is in good shape. But I couldn't imagine spending that much money on a CRX.
-
I sure would. Then I'd sell the stupid thing for a Vette.
-
Guy at work said his is in roaming anywhere outside of 270. No thanks...I'll stick w/ Verizon.

I need an SFI approved balancer for the Formula now. My main choices are ATI, Fluidamper, and Jegs. The ATI and Fluidamper are both about $100 more than the Jegs setup. If I was running a supercharger, I'd have the ATI no questions asked. If I was running over 7k RPM, I'd go w/ the ATI or Fluidamper. But a street/strip motor never going over 7k, I'm not sure. Has anyone here actually ran a Jeg's balancer? I gather there are a couple other choices for SFI approved LT1 balancers out there, but at the cost of the ATI/Fludamper, I'd just go w/ one of those. I just don't know if I can trust the Jegs balancer. I'd hate to save a $100 then wreck a couple thousand in parts because it failed. But if people have had success with them, that's a different story.

Now I am a car guy, and love cars. I'd love to have a big collection of cars. But even I find that to be a bit excessive. -
There isn't one single thing that will solve this problem. It is a combination of things that will take care of it, and just combining a number of the ideas in this thread would probably take care of it: - Felony for employing an illegal - Deport illegals, and deport them heavily. Round them up and ship them out - Guard the borders heavily, with a shoot on site policy Add to that, a felony for renting housing to illegals. If they can't make money, can't find a place to live, are being chased and deported in groups, and will be shot if they try to come back, that would probably discourage most illegals.

1/8th mile, and I dunno if I even believe that. Not all that special of a deal IMO.

In the end, none of this mattered. Even if the event was a full go, it would have been cancelled due to weather on Friday, and the rain date most likely will be rained out too.
