8' != 8.8" I'm talking about the severe rear overhang behind the rear wheels, not the rear end itself. BTW, everyone swinging off the new panhard rod the Mustang has; the F-body has had one since 82; not really a big deal....just keeps the rear centered (unless they found another use for it in the Mustang).

My 94 GT is leaking fuel out of the fuel filler neck, where it meets the fuel tank. I'm looking for part numbers/item descriptions of the gaskets that go there. I'll fix it the next time I'm low on gas, and want to have the parts available to fix it the first time, w/ no trips to the store.

Yuck. Look ma; the Cobra still has an 8' rear end and that damn "I wish I was in the 60's" styling. It's sad the step backwards Ford took w/ the styling, as the 03-04 Cobra were the best looking Mustangs made in a VERY long time. And anyone trying to compare that to the new Z06 needs to get a clue....seriously.

Pontiac?? PONTIAC???!!! How could you even think that would be a possibility? They released the GTO last year, the G6 this year, and the Solstice next year; companies looking to axe a division won't do that. I'm sure it will be Buick. They just don't sell anything people remember; bunch of grandma cars. GM won't get rid of GMC; trucks/SUV's are their bread and butter, and getting rid of that division would do nothing but hurt, at the Chevy equivalent of all of the GMC models probably wouln't make up for all of the lost sales.

Blah; I'd much rather have an 03-04 Cobra. The new Moostangs look like ass. Bigger (yet uncomforable) interiors, and that oh-so-wannabe trendy retro-crap styling. They can toss all the bading and strips in the world on that thing; until the retro crap is pulled off and the ass end doesn't hang 8' behind the rear wheels, it will still look like crap IMO.

I sat in the entire Scion lineup at the auto show. Though the xA and xB are complete embarassing shit mobiles, the tC was pretty decent. I'd say it is definately at or near the top of it's class (aka econo-boxes). Only being offered in a 2 door probably hurts its sales, but IMO gives it a sportier appearance to buyers. Sadly, all these economy cars are getting to prices that I could never justify, at least new. When a tC costs what a decent mileage, good condition 6 year old C5 costs, there's no way I could sport the wrong wheel drive car. But hey, if it wasn't for people buying new cars, I wouldn't have any used cars to buy. (have never purchased new, and have no plans....I'll let someone else eat the depreciation).

Ronnie Duke's C5R blocked LS1, stock style suspension 10.5W car ran high 7.94 @ 176 a couple months ago. He's ran at the COFBA Norwalk event before too. Opps, and can't forget Mike Brown's / other dude I can't remember that co-owns the car, has a LS1 turbo Formula in the low 8's, stock style suspension, that should be in the 7's come racing season (would have been at the end of last season but broke the input shaft on the glide on what would have been his best run). Dayton guy there.

Ahhh, nothing to special for my birthday. Got some money from my mom and her b/f. My dad never even called me....nice. Tried to visit him Sunday, but no one was answering the phone, and I wasn't going to drive 1.5 hours and not have anyone home. G/f took me to dinner, got me a pair of jeans and some car washing stuff. Went to my mom's last night back in my home town, and she invited a good friend I haven't seen in a while over for dinner (friends since middle school), so that was really cool, and she made some good food too. smile.gif I'm sadly 26 now. I hate getting older. But thanks for the b-day wishes.

Some of us don't like boring, lifeless daily drivers. I could have gotten a newer, and perhaps nicer, Civic for the same money I paid for my Mustang, but I'd MUCH rather sport the Mustang daily.

Niffty. That said, I can't really see the justification of tossing in an LS2/LS7 into an already LS1/LS6 equipped car. The cost won't justify the gains. An LS6 intake (if an older LS1), cam, and heads will put in in the same ballpark as an LS2/LS6 with far less work and cost involved. But it is good that LS2 edit is available for those running LS2's and soon to have LS7's running around.
