  1. Now wait a second. There are WAAAAYYYYYY more hockey fans in Columbus than Soccer. Soccer is just cheaper to operate all around.
  2. The only CBJ games I've ever been to have either been free tickets through work (which have always been great seats), or scalped right after the game starts for well below face value. If it goes away, so be it. We are taxed enough. So what if downtown goes to the shitter? There will always be people wanting to go bar hopping/clubbing, so there will just be another Arena-type district somewhere else in Columbus. Oh noes, the ghetto will invade. Invade where? To the east and west is already a shit hole (43203 and 43222...do an aerial map of those areas). Gerbil Village will feel the impact, but that's what you get for fixing up homes next to shitty areas. Short North would feel the impact a bit, but I think they are far enough away to not get hit too hard. Businesses will close, but others will open. Plus, with the Casino coming, buy the time the CBJ would leave, the Casino will open up, therefore keeping businesses in the area going. So where does paying extra taxes help us?
  3. Why, so I can enjoy not watching Blu-ray and getting the red ring of death? I'll pass, thanks. As for the other suggestions, I added a couple of those to my list.
  4. I've had my PS3 since March, and never played a game on it. My wife wants me to put together and X-mas list, and since my relatives from Newfoundland want to get me something, I need small stuff that will travel easily. I have a Wii and every GH / Rock Band game you can get for it (modded Wii ). Only game I could think of was Resident Evil 5. Wouldn't mind a Gran-Tursimo-ish game - but nothing with a bunch of riced out BS and lame racing. Anything else? I'm not a big gamer, but wouldn't mind a couple games for it.
  5. So your wife found your stash, ehh??
  6. Actually, the market is up compared to where it was a year ago. The first time home buyer credit (now extended and includes a number of current/recent home owners as well) has helped the market, especially in first-purchase type of homes. A conversation with my realtor (who is very good, and I will suggest to anyone in need of one) was telling my wife and I that many of the 75-150k homes listed right now are going fairly well. That said, the time between Thanksgiving until the new year is always an aweful time to sell...my realtor won't even list a home during that time, as it is a waste of time. I will be listing my Reynoldsburg property at the beginning of the new year (it's not finished fixing up yet), and I am pretty hopeful to have it in contract in a couple months after listing. My realtor thought what I needed out of it was reasonable, and she was able to sell our condo quickly while other similar units for similar money have went unsold, so I trust her judgement.
  7. So I've messed with it a little more this morning: - Though the disc looks/feels like a DVD, it can only be read by a Blu-ray drive. - Disc is in a standard Blu-ray movie format; mt2s, all standard format folders - Easily ripped to my PC hard drive with AnyDVD HD and my Blu-ray burner. - 174mb total. So sure, I can copy the stupid disc they sent me for free, but that doesn't do much for me. I can mount it as an ISO. PS3 Media Server will read ISO's, but you can only play the m2ts files, individually, with no menu support. Of course, the menu support is what you really need. You could copy the files to the PS3 hard drive, but the same result. I'm now stuck at the point where I might be SOL, other than using the disc, unless I can find a media server that can play ISO's with menus (or any other container format with menus). From what I read, the reason you have to use a disc is because of Microsoft's XBox deal with Netflix; it is good until late 2010, at which time there will be a PS3 firmware update and will no longer need the disc. The disc is a way to get around the Microsoft deal.
  8. Hell, just look at the weekly dog sales/give aways here in the for sale section. There is no way in hell we would ever, EVER consider getting rid of our dog. Not a chance - he is a part of our family.
  9. Ehh, V6. Only good V6 F-body was the 89 TTA.
  10. Now is the time to buy that mower...off season. If you come across any 50"+ deck zero-turn mowers for cheap, please let me know. For washer/dryer, Appliance Mart usually has good deals on new front load washer/dryer packages. That's where I bought ours. New, not scratch/dent or overstock. I also got a REALLY good coupon from Best Buy rewards for a matching Samsung Steam washer/dryer set for $1050 for the pair (I think it is last years model, but who cares?!!).
  11. Yes, you have to have the disc in there. But I'm going to see if I can rip it to the PS3 hard drive and do it that way. I'll take a look at it some time this week.
  12. There are hundreds of movies you can pick from the menu + you have access to your instant que.
  13. netflix.com/ps3 One less reason to own an Xbox 360 now. PS3 could always stream Netflix if you had the PlayOn media server, but it was a PITA. Now, Netflix supports it directly. I've watched a couple movies so far with it, and it works flawlessly. Picture quality is pretty decent - Full Metal Jacket and Shawshank Redemption are almost DVD quality.
  14. 2/10. Under-roo's and a pogo ball (mine was black and red IIRC...not sure what happened to it).
  15. I have a PS2 w/ I believe 2 controllers and two memory cards. PM me an offer. It's not that slim crap either.
  16. That's the right neighborhood for that car.

Sounds good. But for the price of that car, I think it should be making that kind of power from the factory.
  18. Since I wasn't familiar with all of those other surfaces you mentioned, I did a little googling and discovered they are all engineered quartz. I 100% agree courian is out. We have it in out house (kitchen and master bath), and it sucks. Scratches like mad, the only way to make it shiny is to use a corian cleaner that makes it greasy, and looks like crap when you wipe it down with a wet rag. All for a similar price to Granite and Quartz. Now for the Granite vs. Quartz; IMO either would be a good choice, and are fairly similar in look / function.
  19. They are allowed to at any time of the day. Cable channels are a subscription service.
  20. Looks like a solid find. I fucking hate it when assholes put "tags" in to have their car show up in unrelated searches.
  21. WOW and TW don't carry them because NFL Network wants extra MILLIONS a year in programming fees for a couple out of town games. They won't let us do a per-person subscription for those games. Complain to the NFL Network for trying to rip everyone off. JD Power would disagree with you. WOW just recently won the 3 awards for customer satisifaction for Cable, Phone, and Internet. Insight didn't win any. Neither did DirectTV. Not only did WOW win it for the North Central reigion (JD Power does 4 regions across the nation), the scores are higher for each of the 3 awards than the other winner, meaning WOW has the best customer satisfaction in the nation. http://www.jdpower.com/corporate/news/releases/pressrelease.aspx?ID=2009219 http://www.jdpower.com/corporate/news/releases/pressrelease.aspx?ID=2009238 http://www.jdpower.com/corporate/news/releases/pressrelease.aspx?ID=2009199
  22. I am comparing Insight, WOW, and Warner. Seen on multiple TV's, and identical TV's. DirectTV isn't as clear, period. HDMI for all, normal view. LCD and DLP comparisons. My buddy with his DirectTV even commented how it isn't as clear as my other friend's WOW connection, with similar TV's. TV is setup correctly, and looks outstanding with Blu-Ray.
  23. LOL. No. As for Direct TV, you will notice the quality of the HD signal isn't as good as cable (be it WOW, Insight, or Warner). They simply compress it more than cable does. Same goes for U-Verse. It is a noticable difference.
  24. Am I the only one that doesn't give two shits about the 33? I like the rest, but those hot rods just don't do it for me at all. Give me a muscle or sports car.
