  1. No. The seven bolt's in the 2nd gen's are prone to crank walk. The 7 bolts in the 1st gen are not known to be any more (or less) prone to crank walk than the 6 bolts (I'm saying prone because any engine can, theoretically, crank walk). The crank walk has nothing to do with it being a 7 bolt.
  2. So instead of DJ's Kitchen you'd rather it be Hefty Jesus's Gigantic Bleeding Vagina? There's something really wrong about part of that question...
  3. Yeah, no way he had the fire suppressor on it. Stuff pours out like molasses with it on. I bet if you watched him after he left, he would have spontaneously combusted at some point. Regardless if he kept it down, that's impressive, doubly if he did keep it down.
  4. I think last time we were there I saw some bowling thing upstairs near the bar, but I didn't pay very much attention to it. You could call in and ask them.
  5. I chugged 151 ONE time when I was really really drunk. That's something one should only ever do if they are drunk, but never do if they are drunk.... I probably only had a few shots, it's hard to really chug with the fire 'proof' cap on. John, if you even remember, did that guy who you watch chug the 151 take that cap off? I think it would take about an hour to chug with that thing on. I tried to take that cap off once to make 151 jell-o shots, and it broke the glass. Luckily none went down into the bottle so we could still use it. :woowoo:

  7. Eric, Is that not the same engine that was offered in the Touareg? Info on the V10 being a 450hp engine, in the Touareg it's 310hp? And I don't know why they would bother making another, larger engine (the V12) that 'only' has 50hp more. Is the new 'low sulfur' diesel we have here 'good enough' now? Shawn, don't worry, from the sounds of it, you'll be able to get many offerings here soon enough.
  8. Some interesting articles on Audi's diesels at NAIAS. Check out the article on the Q7 V12TDI. Car is ugly as sin, but the 6L V12 turbo diesel puts out 500hp and 737ft-lb's of torque. http://www.audiworld.com/news/07/naias/
  9. It only makes a sound if the person in the car doesn't use their (ex)school email address as their forum name.

  11. What in the fuck does a forest have to do with racing?
  12. Dan, if that guy's making a good point no one would know because his posts (in this thread) are impossible to read. Note: reading involves comprehending the idea that the reader is trying to convey (easily, clearly?). It's not the grammar. A grammar issue would involve small problems with how, where or when individual words are used. This is a complete lack of sentence structure and logic. Proofreading is to catch mistakes, not mutilations of the English language and the inability to convey logical thoughts.
  13. I won't be in town that Thursday, or the 3 after that, or I would be there. I'll be planing one of these when I get back though.
  14. IIRC the westland one is always open on the weekends. Mike was just saying that because they won't have as much since they usually have that stuff outside and it's winter time.
  15. Hopefully you don't have to get shipped back up to Alaska.
  16. Isn't it supposed to get colder over there next week? Yeah, we had the same problem in December in Minnesota, way too warm. We were getting down to the grass in some spots on the snow VDA. Shawn, I was just getting the rust worked out the other weekend. Seriously, I've never bowled a 200, you guys go bowling way too often. Of course I didn't expect it to be this cold. I expected it to be average. I'm working near Cantil, staying in Tehapachi. Look it up. Average hi's in the 50's and lows in the 30's. They are talking about record lows this weekend. Actually it got colder than it was supposed to. It's 22 right now and forecasted to be 16 tonight. Good thing we are going to be in LA tonight and it's going to be a balmy 33.
  17. Vehicle Test Engineer. It's pretty fun. Like every job, has it's upsides and downsides. I've thought about moving to North Carolina for a while. Where are you at and what's the weather like?
  18. Yeah, a little. Helps keep the tires and brakes a little cooler. But that's really negligible on a 4.5mi road course in an SUV. This is dry testing, so we need dry. Temp doesn't so much matter. But we are supposed to get light snow the next two mornings. We are finished after tomorrow though. Cold here is good because it means cold everywhere, including Minnesota. So it's much easier to keep the snow up there and it might actually snow. I'll be home the 19th for the weekend, but I have to work at Mad River over the weekend, so I probably won't have much free time. I'll definitely give you a call if I'm doing anything.
  19. ... and it's going to be 26F tonight and 17F tomorrow night. Just ranting.

  21. Watching more than 20 seconds of that video was more excruciating for me than I'm sure the whole ordeal has been for that guy.
  22. My new years resolution is to edit every one of my post.
  23. Nevermind, I understand now. Thanks. But for this to work, we would have to get any amount of snow. Are you trying to convert me? Damn jews. I really don't care where it came from or the history of why people make resolutions on any particular date. Like I said, it could be any random day. Why even worry about doing/starting them on a particular day? What's the new year have to do with that other than some false psychological blanket for people who can't just make decisions to change things on any random day?
