Just chop the springs and be done with it.

I'm actually curious about the economic impact of statues like this. I know when I've visited other cities, it makes it a lot more interesting walking around if there are things like this, and makes me more likely to come back. I'm sure it could draw people in, just by itself too. It very well may pay for itself, or even have an ROI, from the increased tourism.

I'm guessing that's a real Robocop that's waiting to be activated if things go completely sideways.

Awesome looking Doc. What's that based on, who makes it? Same company as your Viewt? Just assuming since it looks to be Nissan based. Any plans with it?

1995 Jeep YJ - a project car 20 years in the making

What's up with the leaf springs/mounts ruining the approach angle, was that just the design on that ear? -
Sounds like a huge money grab on the NRAs part, at the detriment of the students and good instructors like yourself. Can you setup to have the students do the online portion, or at least part of it, at your place? That way you could still lead them like you currently do. Can you do a day long class where, whatever time and money portion is the CHL part.... and the rest is your own class? That way you technically meet what the NRA is requiring but can still do your own thing. Ok, I'm not a 'gun guy', so here's the part I really can't wrap my head around about all of this. Why is the NRA even involved in the CHL process? CHL is a issued from the state/county, under the guidance of state laws, but the only place you can get the certificate from is from this not for profit political group. Seems very confusing to me.

Continuous improvement, problem solving, and innovation
Trouble Maker replied to wagner's topic in Dumpster
Which part? I will say, I'm at R&D and have been (at various companies) my entire career. So, I can't say that what works here from a work place structure necessarily translates perfectly to manufacturing. But, I'm honestly not sure how a flat, 'open' structure leads to "this concept actually constricts us to always doing the same things. Those who are very good at what they do are rewarded the exact same as those who constantly fuck things up." I've personally seen it foster innovation, from any level. That last part is the key to me, at any level. "Those who are very good at what they do are rewarded the exact same as those who constantly fuck things up." This just poor management, completely separate from the concept of the work place being a level playing field. It's a conservative company about everything, and as such, will seem 'behind the times' sometimes. There are also positives to a company that plays things a little conservatively. From what I understand, lack of automation and focus on (flexible machines) humans, is a purposeful strategy. Maybe that's a line? I don't know, but it is what it is. I personally like the idea that Bottom line, yes, Honda doesn't do everything like most other companies, especially ones of their size. But, maybe that's kind of the point. Love it or leave it! -
Continuous improvement, problem solving, and innovation

I'm not sure how it would apply here, but one of the things I love about working at Honda is the 'open doors' type of environment. No one at any level is considered less than or more than in a problem solving situation. Of course, people are people, and there is still some hierarchic. But this is organization is flater and larger at the same time than anywhere I've ever worked at or even talked to anyone about them working at. As someone else mentioned, it's really a top down, total organization mindset, that seems to make the best environment for things like innovation, creative problem solving and continuous improvement. Since these things require mgmt to allow people the freedom to work in their own way rather than 'the way that's always worked'. Another good byproduct is that, for the given size of the origination, these things can help a place become more agile and flexible. It's also amazing about how much better of a work environment these types of policies can create when they are fully embraced. Do you want to work in a place where your ideas are constantly shot down or a place where, when you have a good idea, they are given a chance? -
Bump, still for sale. I'm not interested in parting it out at this time.

Thanks for taking those parts off of my hands Rob, hope you can find a good use for some of them!

Red "Park" is the parking brake light. Yellow "Brake" is a brake system trouble light (pad wear, low brake fluid, ABS trouble code). But what's the funky one on the left under the tachometer? Danger, car surfing (or maybe actually the air ride system)?
-
I'm a little confused, is that at IG on; trouble light check. Or is that all of the current issues in the car? Maybe my internet sarcasm meter is broken right now.
-
Is that seriously not enough?

Maybe it's just me, but I completely can't see what's more exciting about a Range Rover compared to a Toyota/Lexus SUV. 2 sides of the same coin. Can you get the Cayenne turbo with an MT? I've driven a GTS (V8 non turbo) version. I imagine the turbo version, if they make it with an MT, would be about as much fun as one can have in an SUV. But, that seems like about as different of an SUV as you can get compared to a Lexus GX or RR. Maybe more than $40k too, unless you get an old ragged out one?

Just to clarify. The car was in running order and I started a project to update the sus. Took off all sus parts, brakes & maybe 1 or 2 half shafts. I removed all of the bushings & bearings, and had the rear toe control welded. I have a brand new set of delrin bushings to put in and all new brakes (pads, rotors, calipers). I have some new bearing parts, but not all. All parts will come with the car and are in the back right now. The drivetrain is still in the car; engine, trans, diff. So, that's why I said project or parts car. The car could be put back together, or stripped for parts. There is some rust forming at this point; IIRC on the rockers, so the body is not perfect.

AWD, iirc its an early 92 so 6 bolt. Any solid way to double check? It's out at my parents so I can check the strut towers next time I'm there. Just the tops OK?
-
I have no desire to put this thing back together. My laziness is your gain? I've been out of the DSM game for so long, I have little idea what it's worth. I'll throw a number out, but this is clearly OBO. $500, OBO. Was running when I took everything apart. Everything is there to go back together, minus maybe a few wheel bearings, misc pieces. Brand new in the box brakes all of the way around, delrin sus bushings (old ones are already out of the arms), trailing arms have the toe control out and welded, small 16g already on the car. Or you could use it for a parts car, or tear it apart and sell parts for a profit? It's an auto car; from what I understand those parts are harder to find. Obviously been sitting for a while. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=960&pictureid=8404

Trying to clear some stuff out, figured someone might be able to make some use of this stuff before they go to the scrap yard. Front sus parts, some of them had some bushing so I did a full front arm & steering joint kit. Some are still good though. Also a coolant reservoir. I thought my coolant leaks was coming from there, but it wasn't, so it should be good. 1 Mann oil filter, not sure what all this will fit. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=960&pictureid=8405 01e 6 speed transmission, stock clutch & fly wheel; had the typical 1st & 2nd gear issue, torn apart by the dealership during warranty replacement. It's been sitting for a while. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=960&pictureid=8409 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=960&pictureid=8408 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=960&pictureid=8407 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=960&pictureid=8406

Just to clarify, are you saying what he said wasn't racist?
-
I hope you find a good area and school that can teach your children the good christian value of racism.

Unless you feel you 'need' the suburb type of area, you should really look at nicer parts of Columbus. It's really pointless for you to pay the higher taxes and not use the schools, imho. Or maybe border areas that are 'in' the suburb, but have 'bad' schools, if that exist. You get everything from the suburb (and pay the taxes on that part), but the schools and taxes of Columbus. I honestly don't know if this exist. Just 2 ideas to look into or consider, or not.

I mean, the MBZ is a great car for the money, but the same guy is selling a car that the OP actually listed as wanting. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123853

Coworker got a refurb Lenovo T420 at Micro-center for stupid cheap. Though, at least per their website, they don't have any right now. It's what I use at work right now. Everyone I know who uses Leonovos for work loves them, they are tanks. I wouldn't want to use anything else at work. I think the Thinkpads are their 'business' laptops, they are probably built better than their normal use/personal laptops.
