  1. Wow, yeah with the flat 4 layout I bet you could have a nice, clean roots blower install. I would love to see one of these with a TVS set up, if the fuel system could handle it.
  2. Are you interested in advancing at your company? They will eventually stop asking, and then you'll potentially be stuck where you are forever.
  3. It's a 6.2L TT ZR1 engine (LS9) from everything I have read.
  4. Yeah, HKS likes to use Rotrex superchargers. Their 350Z kit is pretty clean, but that BRZ mockup looks like a mess of pipes. Maybe there will be a version that replaces the intake manifold with an integrated air to water IC, which will end up being much cleaner, but that's a neck of a bend to make it into the throttle body.
  5. It's a LS9 swapped to twin turbo's with two barrel A-W intercoolers. Lots of off the shelf parts in this car.
  6. I respect cyclists on the road, but they must keep right and obey all traffic laws. A few weeks ago I had a cyclist run a 4 way stop as I was making the turn. I almost hit him and he gave me a dirty look, so I past really close and honked at him. OBEY THE FUCKING RULES OF THE ROAD! You do not get special privileges if you are on a bike. The flip side is once I had to ride in the street because the bike path along side had a dead deer across it. People would pull up as close as they could and honk before passing, and this was on a 4 lane road with no traffic. Not like they didn't have plenty of room to go around, and its not like I had a choice.
  7. That's what this guy was originally going to do, but not sure what he was going to use. That's why the running engine was removed, at least. It would be a cheap shell to do a swap on, but putting the stock engine back in is still cheaper. It also sounds like it may have originally been an auto converted to a manual. Not sure if everything was done correctly or not. There's a guy in my area doing a 2JZ swap on one right now. Seems like sacrilege though.
  8. From the underhood shots I've seen, it looks like a turbo is a nightmere on these cars...but a Rotrex might be a clean addition. Just sayin.... (in 5 years when you finally cave in)
  9. One of my favorite all-time cars is the 90-96 300ZXTT. I just happened to see a clean shell for sale which still has the rear end, all suspension, and brakes installed and includes a set of awful looking wheels. It needs a front and rear bumper, front fenders, seats, and other misc. stuff. The stock engine and trans are separated from the vehicle but can be included for additional $. Any rough estimates on the cost to make this a running car (not including paint)? It's a 1993 T-top Twin Turbo shell.
  10. I agree. Henessey is claining all this stuff about how he's got the fastest open top car in the world, beating the Veyron. But the Veyron is levels of engineering above this car, and it doesn't have a web of roll cage piping in the way. Honestly, this is a really cool vehicle, but by no means is it worth $1.1 million. It's a small step above a kit car, and far from Veyron quality.
  11. How did this thread get ruined so quickly by trolls?
  12. I'm most surprised that an Asian guys junk could feed 5 people.
  13. I agree, to a point. Until we have a surplus large enough to cover at least the interest on the national debt, it will continue to rise. (i know, duh) The problem is there are so many entitlement programs, earmarked spending, pet projects by congressman, etc. that even if the president made sweeping cuts in spending, it would never pass congress. Until everyone gets their heads out of the assessing and decides to do what's best for this country as a whole nothing will change, no matter who is in office.
  14. Ever think about putting Rota's on it? Not sure what any of these weigh, but they're usually pretty light. http://www.rotawheels.com/wheel.php?id=31 http://www.rotawheels.com/wheel.php?id=81 http://www.rotawheels.com/wheel.php?id=64 http://www.rotawheels.com/wheel.php?id=70
  15. I wish I could, but that's the day my wife gets back from Romania, so I'll have to be around to pick her up. Any idea if they are doing these types of events in other locations?
  16. Looks really good. I'm gonna have to find a Scion dealer around here that has one available for test drives. This car really interests me, as it's nice to see a true 'drivers car' finally come out amid the mass flooding of high mpg, boring, econo cars. What happened to all the fun sport compacts? They all got neutered.
  17. We're continually running deficits, tax revenue has dropped, and we accrue interest on our debt, so of course the national debt will continue to rise, no matter who was holding office.
  18. A couple years ago I had a contractor over to my house to give me a quote. He would never quote me anything over the phone and always wanted to meet in person. He would then sit down with a blank sheet of paper and write a number down. "how does this sound?" I would ask for the breakdown of what was material, labor, what was included, how much each portion cost (paint, floors, kitchen, etc.) All he would do is move the amounts around but always end up the same in the end. I felt like I was buying a used car and finally told him to get out. I'm always weary of people who first ask "what's your budget." Who the duck cares what my budget is? What's your quote? I ended up going with a guy who came in once, talked to us about what we wanted, and a day later sent me an itemized quote for me to review.
  19. On what model? A crappy 1.8L n/a with cloth seats? Not a bad car, but the Volt is a bit more plush, and the 1.8L sucks. There was a dealer in WI doing $250/month on the Volt, and the large dealer in FL is giving $2500 off invoice, which means you could get ~297/month with $0 down.
  20. What about all those people who worked on your farm??!!
  21. I hate this crap. They do the same thing at the Woodward Dream Cruise every year. Sure, it's an issue they are passionate about and they have the freedom to demonstrate. But it's extremely inappropriate to put six foot tall pictures of aborted fetuses in the face of children who are just out to enjoy the day with their parents.
  22. Two disco stars die from cancer with 2 or 3 days of each other. They always say these things come in 3's.
  23. LOL, That pic is of a Holden / Vauxhall that's been in production since 2006, which the G8 and Caprice cop cars are based on.
  24. Just got my electric bill for the first month of ownership and it's less than $20 more when compared to the previous month, and we've been running the AC a bit too.
  25. Looks pretty damn good!
