  3. Can I ask the question of why Clintonville? What's the draw? Are you looking to be close to Whetstone Park, or are you just looking for the charm of an older home? I just checked Realor.com and saw a handful of (what I would consider) descent homes ranging from 1-3 car garages, but it's hit-or-miss. Some 1 cars looked like they would be easy to add on to, others are locked in. From what I've seen three car garages are hard to find in most places inside the city. But I think it will be a real headache to build one down the road and deal with permits, city codes, angry neighbors, etc.
  4. Looks like a pretty good deal! http://www.groupon.com/deals/gl-detroit-belle-isle-grand-prix?c=button&utm_content=all-deals_detroit_ddo_highlight_4&s=body&division=detroit&utm_source=newsletter&sid=11173924&utm_medium=email&date=20120514&utm_campaign=gl-detroit-belle-isle-grand-prix&p=1&addxe=bWFsbGFyZDEwNTVAaG90bWFpbC5jb20=&user=698bcdbccbb82445b6c810365750a36c5640d225e0f6c3635ca816f3fdd7a82e
  5. Get a minimum of a 2 car attached. Personally, if I could do it over I would have held out for either a 3 car, or a house with some land and a pole barn in addition to a min 2 car attached.
  6. I'm not on voltstats, but I use the OnStar app regularly to see how much she gets out of it. With her commute it's rarely below half a charge, but on the weekends we use most of it. Not much is needed in the way of aero mods for it to be the same as an Eco. Don't they just have the active grill shutters? The rest was done with weight savings and high gear ratios.
  7. That sounds like a good deal on the Cruze. Is it a LS, LT, 2LT, Eco? What options? RS package? I haven't seen the first electric bill yet, but it will be higher than it should be in the future. Tonight I'm running a 220 line to the garage and in the next few weeks I should have the charger and secondary meter installed. Then I can charge with fewer losses, in shorter time, and at a lower rate. So far the gas gauge says it's still full and the engine has only turned on twice, for a total of about 12 miles or so. Typically we would spend around $120/month on gas for what the Volt has replaced. Supposedly it's only around $1 per day to charge the battery. We'll see how true that is soon. I was genuinely surprised I could make my commute on a full charge, but obviously that could only happen in decent temperature.
  8. No. You swipe a credit card or get a membership card for the charge station supplier (most often it's a ChargePoint station).
  9. There are some public charging stations around some downtown areas, malls, airports, etc. Some owners have convinced their work place to put in a charging station or allow them to plug into 110V outlets while they are there. The 110 charger comes with the car and stowes under the trunk floor. You will get your best mileage during city driving, or 50 mph and less, provided you are not starting and stopping every block. I managed my 46 miles on all city streets. Freeway driving drains it pretty quickly. In the month we've owned it the engine has had to turn on twice, and one time was due to an overnight power outage.
  10. The wife is on a business trip so I stole the car for a few days. Today, my first day of driving the car, I managed 46 miles in EV mode and it said I still had a mile left when I rolled into the garage
  11. The V has not been announced...yet.
  12. The most widely used fisheye lenses I know of are used on rear automotive back-up camera's. This things can go from 180-195 deg FOV, IIRC. Of course, those are much smaller and cheaper.
  13. Is there a ZL1 in any customers hands yet?
  14. $34-42k is not what i had in mind. I saw a V at a secret location and about wet my pants. I can't wait for these to hit the used market.
  15. The way I see this is the car ran the released times on the stock tires, however they tested with a set of drag radials to verify there is no power hop or driveline issues but will not be releasing those times. Typically all manufacturer released specs are on a completely stock car, down to the tire pressure. Otherwise, you buy the car, don't run those times, make those dyno numbers, etc. and you sue.
  16. They don't look that bad in person. I am surprised at the dimensional comparison with the Cruze, as the Malibu appears much larger. Although the article was written with a focus on the combination.ed MPG and they failed to mention that it's rated at 38 on the freeway.
  17. That's a lot of damage to come from a cart. That had to be something else. Someone rammed a cart into my car two weeks ago.
  18. Even Wiggs said it takes 6+ months for a UGR build if you want a numbers matching car, which is what his will be. They can turn them around quickly because they have stock sitting on the shelf.
  19. The car looks great. I always loved that body style. Nice work.
  20. The Sonic is not made by or even developed by Daewoo. It shares nothing with the Aveo, the suspension was tuned by the Corvette dynamics team, and its built in Michigan, just north of Detroit.
  21. It's a 1.4L turbo, not a 1.8L turbo. The interesting thing is, to be fast in a slalom you need to have some decent tires, no crazy amounts of body roll, and the narrower the track the better. Does the Sonic really have stickier tires and less roll than the FRS? The FRS has a very low cg and it's not that big of a car either.
  22. Has anyone done this yet? After reading about the latest release I think I'm going to do this next week. I think I would use and enjoy my TP more if the Incredulity is even half as good as my phone. http://androidcommunity.com/hp-touchpad-cm9-graduates-to-alpha-2-we-go-hands-on-20120224/
