nice find! Best steering and 2nd best door handle pop (wierd I know- but 911 was best) of any car I have driven. I almost bought a stage 3 944 turbo (951) before the z06... sort of want one still. Where did you send those parts to get that clean? You may want to part it out on rennlist or ebay. There is probably more than 800 in parts there easy... but I understand wanting a project.

Got the exhaust off and welded a bung in for my wideband setup. I tried to grind off the galvanizing but it still welded poorly. Still need to check for leak and finish the driveshaft loop relocation (previous owner had it in the rear)- I can understand why he put it there as there is a lot more room back there but it is not nearly as functional protection. I am hoping we don't have to fabricate a new one but it may end up that way. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps9b389b46.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zpsd0180980.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps6d61d1cc.jpg

how much torque will this put out? I have a rodac and my dad has a craftsman professional and neither one is worth a @#%. A shop I used to work at had a tiny 1/4" snap-on that would snap 1/4" non-rusty bolts off with a passion. Thanks, Andrew

St. Petersburg, Fl. Is where we will probably go- that is what I am afraid of (catching a shark). What did you do cut the line once you saw the fin? I will ask again at the tackle shop when we go down - thanks

Hey all- Anyone know any tips to fishing off the beach? I have a casting net I play with and can catch little sand sharks, glass minnows and pinfish , herring maybe as well... A guy at the tackle store told me to hook one of the bait fish through the nostrils (somehow?- I did buy special hooks for it) and cast it between the shore and the sand dune and get read for a wild ride? some sort of jack fish I believe he said? I didn't know what I would bring in so I let the bait fish go but have been thinking about trying it next time we go... Do I need a special pole or line? I have a cheapie reel not push button but not much better and maybe 15 or 20 lb test some bobbers and weights.. Thanks!

Thanks. No, I can't make it this Saturday unfortunately... I still need to put the bung in for the wideband o2 setup I bought as it still isn't running right.

Got the 8.8 back and installed! http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps9328c24f.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps0041445c.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps1f9e0dae.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zpsc9566184.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zpse72825e7.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps265cc718.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps71c1b149.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps164a9ec6.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps44751635.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps579c0a45.jpg

Likely a rotted vacuum line on the evap system. Gas cap rarely fixes it unless it was loose/not properly installed at the most recent fill-up.

miss our old one... good luck!

I have very similar needs to you and to replace my 99 4X4 Explorer I will be getting an 01+ Subaru Outback wagon 03+ if I can find one I can afford. The explorer has been great and has 160K miles on it. I would prefer the H6 as it has no head gasket problems but they are rarer and the 4 cylinder head gasket seems to be more of an issue with the earlier models. I wouldn't touch another gm product other than the vettes or caddys and if ford or honda made the equivalent I wouldn't buy those either. My z06 has been great but it only has 30 some thousand miles... all other gm products I have had have not been enjoyable in the least. I have always heard better things about the little cherokee (XJ) they ended in 01 as far as reliability than the grand- isn't the grand plagued with transmission and rear end problems? I would consider an 01 XJ as well but I really want latch seat belts for the car seats and I really liked the Legacy sedan we test drove I was not a fan of the s60 Volvos we drove either - I know nothing about the v70.

Hey guys- It doesn't look like I am going to be able to put this wideband into the collector, so I will have to have at least one joint that could leak and mess up my AFR. How do you test for leaks other than listen (car is way too loud for that), have heard to stuff a rag in the outlet of the pipe that you are testing but then what? Soap solution would evaporate pretty quickly I would think- if there is a leak, other than repositioning the pipe slightly and testing again are there any other tricks? Red rtv? That would probably damage by o2 sensor... Hmm I guess I could start v-banding for practice for the turbo setup but they are kind of expensive to waste... Brian, Rob, IPS?

How many miles does he have? Does he also need new hubs/bearings/wheel sensors? That seems far beyond even stealership prices... where did he take it? You can pm me if you don't want to make it public as my dad has a 13 GC.

I think part of the problem is that it is a lefty.. did you try craiglist or ebay- may have better market population...

Thanks guys! Good point on the leaks...

Hey all- In preparation of some spring tuning of the gremlin I have acquired a wideband setup. The instructions say that it should be mounted above 3 and 9 oclock in the pipe (to avoid condensation) and near the catalytic converter. I read some people run them in header collectors but I think that is for non-heated sensors? I also have read that people use the exhaust clamp and run them in the tailpipe and are accurate except for idle readings... Soo.. in my carb, non cat, 355 sbc, can I put it as far back in the mid pipes as is convenient or is there some reason to stay near the a collector? Staying above 3 to 9 and screwing it in and out could be quite difficult unless I cut a hole in the floor panel up close to the collector.

This is brand new! PN 10331560 I purchased this from the local dealership only to find out that it was designed to fit the standard model Corvette instead of my Z06. The dealership will not take it back as I have had it for longer than 30 days. My loss is your gain- this cost over 100 dollars new. Currently on evilBay... for 15.00 + 25.00 shipping. Item# 230930231736 http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps76140543.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zpsb72389e5.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps4ad137b2.jpg

Hey all, Pulled these from the Gremlin. The Oil Pressure gauge was hooked up and working, the fuel pressure gauge requires an isolator and only the backlighting was hooked up. Included is an extra bulb assembly... http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps060fa775.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps6c4cf2cc.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zpsf7b1c0cd.jpg $30.00 OBO Thanks!
