I would also partially disagree as far as keeping the wheel straight (quoting quarter mile times) and say the the 5.0 fox body is the best budget straight line performance car. Even though the LS1 is a more powerful engine (44 cubes and newer technology) the car it is in just weighs a lot more. A LS1 fox coupe would actually be very tough to beat but a little more difficult to assemble. For all around performance suspension/handling/braking without ride comfort as a concern the LS1 f-body is the best out there as the engineering is far superior as its engineering dates to 1993 rather than 1979 for the mustang. Well I dunno the 1982-92 third gen did have a torque arm as well but I dont think it had SLA front suspension or 4 wheel disc brakes. For all around badass performance on a budget with ride comfort taken into account there is no question the C5 vette wins in every category but you lose the back seat.... I am sure an AWD DSM does handle/brake/accelerate pretty well and isn't too heavy but they lose MAJOR points for expense of repair (foreign parts, and non-reliable build quality) sorry to venture off topic. To the OP, are you the guy that wanted to trade for my car and I referred you here? Lets see some pics we may have already seen you out there.

lol- ohmy... clever. thanks!

Hey guys- Looking to get back into it--- anyone looking for extra players? I am about to sign up individually at soccer first and ncaa but figured I would ask here first. Thanks, Andrew

Is it just me or does this thing look extremely front end heavy? Maybe with a full tank of gas its balanced?

I typically don't like the looks of those locost 7s but the one you posted crossle does look good... I will look into that more... Dave- I have looked extensively into the monster miata and other swap kits- it is about 25 grand start to finish if done appropriately same with the v8 944s, for that I will buy a used c5 z06. v8 rx7 is the cheapest engine swap project using the FB or FC. BTW those that are mentioning the hyabusa engine locost I think they are called megabusas. Thanks! Andrew

I got mine at germain when I dropped the tank to put my 255 in.

Hey guys- Looking for something with four wheels and street legal that is extremely light weight and not too expensive to build that I can scare myself with occasionally-- What is that a rail buggy? Shifter Kart? Kit car? The closest thing I can find so far is the la bala by graberracing.com but that might be a bit too involved for me with that complex of a suspension from scratch. Thanks, Andrew

Dynamat's effectiveness in masking Exhaust Drone?
hpfiend replied to LPFSTheFett's topic in Passing Lane
There are kits sold specifically for the z06, well at least the c5 to replace the sound deadening which was taken out to strip weight by the factory. hmm what was it called.... found it: http://www.exoticvette.com/insulation%20c6.htm -
thats a sweet deal- too bad I have a 5 spd.

What is a modis? Electric impacts really work? You guys already named most of my favorites- well a good flashlight doesn't hurt things. My least favorite tools have to be ez outs- I despise those F@T@# R@# s, always give you hope until they magnify your issues when they snap

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/rearqtr2.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/HoodUp.jpg Well, in search of a corvette I am putting up for sale my pride and joy and four years of hard work. This car is extremely fast while maintaining excellent drivability. I bought the car basically stock and it has been built right with the best of the best. Modifications started with subframe connectors and torque box reinforcements and ended with a built 31 spline rear-end, a Trickflow top-end kit, a Novi 1000 supercharger, and a custom dynotune by Rob and Don LaSota for a very conservative 365 rwhp at only 5 psi. While the car does have 183K miles on the body the 1992 forged shortblock only has ~75K, the transmission, clutch, flywheel, shifter, entire top half of the engine (heads, cam, lifters, intakes, rocker arms), entire rearend (bearings, seals, gears, posi, axles, studs) etc have ~25K and the supercharger, injectors, MAF, and tune have about 10K. This car was recently featured in the May 2008 issue of 5.0 Mustangs. Click here for a video at idle: Click here for pictures, timeslip, dynosheet, and complete modification list. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2697057 $9,795.00 OBO.

I always feel sorry for kids like this. Seriously- he is going to have a rough life with or without the money- and it doesn't sound like its helping him. Paige Peyton- thats a unique name... If I knew what rep was I also would also give some for the term sexed and for the water baloon idea.
-
That sounds about like any non LSx based GM product ever built, and they don't even sound good but you need to add junk rear-end to that list as well. Had to- been there too many times.

did you get this from that guy that wanted to buy my mustang?

Ramsey, Yep those are 40 series 2 chambers- oh well- to make them louder just ditch the tailpipes and put some turndowns on it.... when I got my car it was practically stock with bbk shorties, offroad h-pipe, and dumped flowmasters- It was too loud for me so I added tailpipes- perfect for me- I must have less sound tolerance than you my friend... I then added the h/c/i and made more hp and effective compression and it got louder such that I had to get magnaflows with tailpipes.. I then added the blower, more power, more compression and it got louder yet- then had to lose tailpipes and it was unbearable- so the summit super turbos went on--- I drive my car every day- do you as well? HTH, Andrew
