This "event" wasn't too exciting for some of us. A couple of us made it out to make some test and tune passes and they did zero track prep. Not a single drop of anything. It sucked. The only thing that I got from this was annoyed by the idiots who were parking in the staging lanes blocking people from getting around them to actually run. I realize that it might be better this time, but I won't be there to find out. Hopefully for the rest of you it's better than it was.

Does this car have any suspension work other than lowering springs? I'd say that there is plenty left if that was only a 1.86. I wonder how it will run in cooler air.

What was the 60' on that pass? I guess the magazines weren't lying about the times on these cars afterall

I hate to be the one to do this, but what do you think the Whipple is? It's a Ford Racing Blower and looks an aweful lot like the one sitting on top of the motor in the article.....

Haha. I'm ready to get a good cool down on the car and make a pass. Haven't had a chance to do that in awhile. Damn blower car really hates warm air and the top half of the motor just stays so hot. Oh well. Just means that it will run better here soon.

Well, a few of us went out to Kilkare last night and all of us had a best of some kind. Air sucked and the DA was 3200 at 6 when we made our first passes. It was better at 9 for the last runs, but was still 2500-2600. I found out that some nights the shittos just don't hook. Last time there I cut a couple of low 1.8s, which suck, but last night the two shitto passes were 2.01 then spinning and a 2.35 spinning out of the hole. My friend was nice enough to loan me his well worn BFGs and I ended up running an 11.67@121 with it spinning to about 4500 in 1st and going a 1.81. Pass before was a 1.75 60', so I guess it's time for a big boy tire on the old thing. It's the first time that I have really had the car dialed in this year and the air sucked along with the car being nice and hot. Can't wait for some good air now.

Yes, but I had some other issues that I didn't know about. I had to replace the intercooler pump, get a new chip, and play with a couple of other things to get it right. The chip had been in and out so much that the connection wasn't very good. One minute it would be fine, then the next it wouldn't run well at all. Got another one in there and it seems to be fine now. I haven't been back since then. I hope to go this week, so I'll let you know how it runs then.

Have you done your alternator and clutch yet?

It's not just you at all. That is not a good decision at all. For the guy who asked why just a 50 shot, when it picks up more than 50 wheel and a ton of torque from cooling everything down you'll know why.

The T-56 that Ford used in the 03/04 Cobra had a 10-spline input shaft and the 26-spline input shaft is an upgrade for that. The GM T-56 has a 26-spline shaft already, so as far as spline count it doesn't need an upgrade. I don't know if they make a better shaft for the GM trannies or not.

I have a catback from a bullit, but it had to be cut to get it off. The cut was near the axle. Let me know if you would still like to have it.

High 11? Not with that car weighing what it does. Nice to see that they do run as well as the magazines have claimed.

Just quoting to emphasize the rehab portion again. It will hurt during rehab. My favorite was when they did the bending and straightening stretches at the end of the session. It didn't feel good, but it was necessary. The therapists hated me, because they didn't get the usual puss out when they pushed harder. I think those guys have a weird liking of inflicting pain on others.
