The thing is, the iPhone was completely new to the world and no one else could touch it. Chevy Bolt already beat the Model 3 to market. i3 has been around for several years and you can lease one for pennies. Tesla is coming to market with a fantastically marketed but middlingly competitive product. It's nothing like an iPhone.

It'll all go to complete shit when the factory workers unionize and drive the production costs through the roof. Elon thinks he can deliver half a million cars per year. Tesla is, essentially, a startup still. Half a million cars. Their infrastructure may support it, but I know for absolute certain I would not buy the first generation of something that had well-publicized labor disputes regarding working conditions, and was quickly transitioned from producing another vehicle to a completely new platform of vehicle. I, for one, am grateful to the half million beta testers that are putting up the capital to make sure that when I get my Tesla in 10 years, it's much cheaper and much better tested than whatever they're producing now.

That guy was at Mid-Ohio this weekend. $39500obo in the window. No idea what original MSRP on that one was.

Pretty sure they're only delivering 30 of them for now. Even if it's more than that, they've been very clear that the initial deliveries will be to CA and NY, with the rest of the country getting them in 2018. Remember when Mercedes decided to build cars to a budget and we ended up with the monstrosity that was the ML320?

I think he meant the virtually unchanged 10+ year old EJ257 and 5+ year old 370Z architecture compared to a brand new car design.

For all we know a wife is making him "sell" it so he's doing right by her... maybe just not super motivated yet Sexy af car though, it'll make someone very happy.

Let me know if you need a referral for an attorney. I work with a lot of them, including family law.

Car didn't get stolen, but a couple years ago in the Kenny/Kinnear area someone got into my car parked on the street and stole my sunglasses, old school iPod, and a few quarters. They had clearly handled my garage door opener and yet they didn't open it and take the thousands of dollars worth of tools/bikes/motorcycle helmets/etc that were in there. Right around the same time as now. I've long been a proponent of all-year education in this country. Make it 4 days a week, year round, and I guarantee summertime crime rates drop and graduation rates go up. We already pay teachers year round, might as well get the money's worth out of them.

Sounds like I need to train with you. It's been ages since I've been to the range. CR does track days, should we do range days too?
-
Beautiful gun, I've been eyeing a 1911R1 for quite some time, this might be the tipping point. If you want to go to the range sometime, hit me up. I've got a Dan Wesson .357 revolver and a Llama Comanche .22 plinker I need to get practice with.

Probably a bunch of kids with nothing better to do. I noticed there's been a pretty steep uptick in crime the last couple weeks, obviously since school's out, but lots more car theft/vandalisms and shootings.

This. I went through a job change in November and rolled my 401(k) which was about $11k into a Vanguard IRA.

Campers and RVs- ownership questions
El Karacho1647545492 replied to mrs.cos's topic in Passing Lane
Family friend has a gooseneck/5th wheel in their 3/4 ton pickup, they drive all over the continent. In fact they just got back from a long trip to Alaska, and they can't stop talking about it. We met up with them at Mid-Ohio for the vintage grand prix (see that thread for my photo) and for 2 whole days we just hung out at their RV making food and enjoying the type of stuff we could never fit in a car; lounger chairs, tables for food prep, nearly full size grill, etc. -
https://columbus.craigslist.org/snw/6172676675.html Get him a Harley from the worst era of H-D, aka when they were owned by a bowling company.

Also, forgot to mention, Bike Week up there is absolutely awesome to witness.

I would suggest renting a house/airbnb/whatever you can find in Port Clinton/Sandusky/Huron/Catawba Island area by the end of this summer. It'll give you a good feel for what the area is like, what the drive is like, and I think it'll help make up your mind if you want to be on an inland lake or major body of water like Erie. I know if it was me, I would never be happy on an inland lake after spending time on Erie. It's much closer to being on an ocean than a traditional "lake house" IMO due to all the international shipping traffic and the size obviously.

FS: 2 Honda Indy 200 weekend tickets, Mid-Ohio
El Karacho1647545492 replied to B3NN3TT's topic in Other Stuff
This year has been great for Indycar and this race always brings out a good crowd (but not overly huge). If I didn't already have my tickets bought with paddock passes, I'd be all over this!! GLWS. -
looking for recomend: FHA certified contractor

Harold Davis, Creative Services LTD. Specializes in bathrooms and kitchens, he loves doing tile. I can't remember if he has a degree, or just experience, but either way he has a strong background in graphic design, so he can put the pen to paper and then make it happen for you. http://creativeservicesltd.com/ Tell him Alex Caxide (pronounced Casheed) sent you. If he can't do it, he can probably recommend someone who will. -
Some questions: 1) Will you be boating? If yes, how big? Sail or gas? 2) Which do you value more, privacy, or access to fun shit? 3) Do you actually want to be on the water/across the street from water, or just in the general vicinity? I ask because some foolish people think "lake house" means any abode within walking distance of a body of water. My fiancée's family has a house on Lake Erie in Huron, OH, very close to the Huron lighthouse. They dock at Harbor North, which is walking (or golf carting) distance from the house. There are 2 bar/restaurants, a cafe and a bowling alley within walking distance, and myriad other establishments within golf cart or car distance. There are public launches for friends that visit, and it's maybe an hour from dock to dock for a trip to Put-In-Bay or Kelly's Island. You can catch an Uber to the Jet Express to Kelly's/PIB if you don't want to get a BUI, or just get a boat big enough to sleep on. Cedar Point is just a little ways away and you could honestly ride bicycles there. It's almost exactly 2 hours to Huron from my place in Grandview. You can go up 71 to 30 to 250 through Norwalk, or you can take back country roads for better scenery and driving. I can't remember if you ride motorcycles or not, but it's a great ride up there excluding the highway boringness. EDIT: Oh yeah, and you can bring your passport and disappear to Canada if the shit hits the fan.

Are late 1800s silver dollars considered rare? Obviously there's some collector value, but I imagine it'd have to be uncirculated or something to carry much additional value?

Arlington Coin & Watch! I had my watches repaired there a couple times years ago and noticed the coins, just completely forgot about it til now. I'll have to check him out again.

About 6 months ago I inherited a number of late 19th/early 20th century coins from my uncle who'd inherited them from his father. I just got around to looking at them, but I don't know where to begin when it comes to finding out of these are worth more than metal value. Any recommendations? I may not sell any of this stuff, but would like to know what sort of value I'm sitting on so I know if a small safe in the home is sufficient protection and/or if they should be itemized on insurance.

Assume you're looking at an older one and plan to drive til the wheels come off? Self maintained Porsches can be hard to resell.

sent this to my buddy, he's unlikely but i told him to keep an eye on CL.
