    next phone?

I kinda wonder when it's all said and done if more companies aren't guilty of this or something similar. I know our phones always get shittier right about upgrade time.

    next phone?

We just started looking at deals. Normally just go to Verizon. One year we did Best buy but I really saw no reason to go back. Verizon is doing a deal on the s8 now (BOGO) when you get an unlimited plan. That's about as far as we've looked so far.

    next phone?

I've never looked at the LG phones. I'll do that now. I'm leaning towards the note or possibly an s8+. I'm still open to looking at others though. Probably be next week before we go get them so I still have time to research.

    next phone?

Going next month or so to get new phones for the family. What's everyone using and how do you like it? I have really liked my current droid turbo 2. It's been my favorite phone I've ever had. I like the active display where I can just wave my hand over it to see the time. I like the chop feature for the flash light and twist feature for the camera. The problem is that we have 3 of them in the house and all 3 have charging issues. After a little research it's a pretty common issue with the droids and a little more research shows it becoming a problem with the moto z so motorolla is pretty much off my list which sucks because I really like this phone. I like a big phone so I'm thinking about getting a note 8. I haven't read about them yet to see if there's any common issues. I had a note 2 at one time and it was an ok phone. About the only plus to that phone was I could remove the battery so I had a spare battery I could just swap out. Seems that's went away so no longer an option. Looked at the pixel 2XL but know nothing about them or anyone that even has one. Had an iphone years ago and will never have another one. What do you guys have and what are your favorite features?
  5. Have you checked fuel pressure also? Miles on fuel filter? I'd start simple first. Gm is not known for their high quality fuel pumps.
  6. That's kinda how I see it. A pretty nice video if shot with a toaster but other than that it sucks and I can't tell what I'm supposed to be looking at. I mean cell phones have 8-12 mp cameras that also record hd video and yet we get this trash from a billion dollar airplane?
  7. I have no idea where I stand. I can argue myself in and out of reasons to believe and not believe. I will say I'm not a religious person so I lean towards science with most stuff. I also think most things can be explained away. That being said it's probably silly to think of all the galaxies and planets out there we're the only beings and we're the most advanced. I almost think life has to exist elsewhere.....some less advanced and some more advanced.
  8. I kinda forget but I'm pretty sure he took 2 of them at $360k and 30%.
  9. I'm always against teams trying to hold cities hostage for free stadiums. Get a stadium but pay the tax payers back like every other business deal works. No reason for them to get all the profits and have none of the up front costs for the stadium. Let them leave.
  10. Yeah....ask for Doug. That's my bro. He's into cars too....has a procharged 06 GTO
  11. my brother owns CBC and Milestone 229. You could always call him and see if he could do something for you guys. PM me for his number if you're interested.
  12. they continually make these bills more and more confusing so they can dupe people into voting based on commercials. I watched the debate and came away knowing not much more than I did going in. Just seems like a greed fight between 2 entities that no one likes much. My understanding is that it basically effects the cost of medicare and medicaid drug prices the state pays and those can't be higher than what the VA pays. The sponsor of the bill (Weinstein) at face value seems like he might be trying to do the right thing and he's the ceo of a healthcare company that does aids/hiv prevention and treatment. It does sound like they do good work but then you notice how much they're spending to get this bill passed here ($6M) and the limitless defense budget. It all starts to look like someone is going to get richer if it passes and someone is going to get richer if it fails. The NO vote is pretty much all Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and they're throwing money at it like there's no tomorrow. They spent $120M getting it defeated in Kalifornia and seems like they have the same game plan for Ohio. I've tried to read and learn about the issue but I'll be honest with you.....I have no idea which is the "correct" way for me to vote. I would probably slightly lean "yes" but only because it does benefit a company that does good in the world helping people who ordinarily wouldn't get help. A "no" vote helps who? Big pharmacy. Not sure I've ever noticed them doing much to help the less fortunate other than selling them drugs at insane prices. That's my take on it anyhow.

    He Gone

Condolences......sounds like you got some good time in. Be thankful for that.
  14. We've used a wireless one for years. I run 2 boxes....one in the house and one in the shed to give him more room. The shed box just quit working about a week ago so I need to replace it. It was used when I bought it and it lasted 6.5 years....not sure how old it was when I bought it.
  15. I found a cord for it. It's not the one that came with it...believe it's an aftermarket one my son had for his iphone 5 when he had it. This is a 7th gen nano 16gb. Let me know if you're interested....if not I'm going to throw it on ebay now that I've found it.
  16. Would be cool.sport to get into but lots of dedication needed. Over the years sitting in my stand I've seen a few Hawks make kills. I see alot of Cooper's hawks and have seen a few take small birds. A couple times I've seen redtails take a squirrel. It's a violent thing for the first 10 seconds. That seems to be about the time it takes one to get a squirrel under control Blows my mind every time. Last year right at dawn I saw a barred owl finishing up it's night hunting up the ridge next to me. I was wanting it to catch something so bad I could taste it. That would be cool to see in person.
  17. I found her nano but have yet to find the charger for it. I'll have her look for it when she gets home.
  18. that pretty much sums it up. I watched the Ken Burns film The Vietnam War the last couple weeks when it was on. A vet had a good way of putting it. He said "People say the army makes killers out of men......I say it's just finishing school."
  19. I would strongly suggest getting a touch. It will have more of a phone feel to her and you can put a games on it if you wanted. She will be more apt to using it vs just letting it sit. Somewhere we have a shuffle or nano we bought for our daughter but she never really messed with it because it wasn't even close to what she wanted. I'll look around for it but I haven't seen it in years. My daughter has a touch she still uses even after she got her phone.
  20. I meant that as my kids would do the same thing.....you put any kid on a bike and introduce them to a mud puddle there's zero chance that bike and kid stay clean. We go near VA beach every year for 2 weeks. The place we stay has a sandy "beach" on the back bay area. My son spent an entire afternoon with a shovel building a ramp out of sand so he could jump out into the water. We've never had anyone openly complain about the kids but in a campground kids aren't going to sit in a chair under the awning like the old people that like to bitch.
  21. Wonder if it changed hands or something? My buddy stayed there this summer and they had a good time but he's relatively new to camping so he's only stayed at 2 parks. If there's one thing you get at campground it's old people that have spent a few days memorizing every park rule and they also expect it to be peaceful and quiet at all times. I ignore those people. I have 3 kids that ride bikes and make noise....I dare someone to yell at them for doing so. They're respectful and we don't let them run wild but a kid + a bike + a mud puddle only really has 1 outcome.
  22. http://lazyriveratgranville.com Never stayed there but have heard good things from several people. It's on our list of places to try out.
  23. same way on my duramax....you get the dual batteries in parallel to provide starting amps and glow plug amps but only one powers the other electronics. If memory serves me correctly it's reverse on my truck.....I can unhook drivers side and not lose power to radio and things but will if I uhook passenger side.
  24. They all do that. I have some really thick expanded metal that I use to make my own. I also weld a piece across the middle that helps with the sag. You can always just order a spare for when that one gets too far gone. https://www.charbroil.com/Fire-Grate-CB020056
  25. got that bandera fired up this weekend and seasoned it. For $89 you can't beat it but glad I didn't pay $376 for it. Not as efficient as I thought it would be and the door definitely needs a gasket. I'm also going to tack some angle iron in above the racks because they want to tip forward when you pull them out. Like I say...for $89 it's a steal but original price not so much. I'm eyeballing those small electric smokers now. Never used an electric one but for $45 I may have to give one a try. If nothing else it would probably work well for deer jerky.
