I work with the operating entity for the Crew. Jalopnik is correct...Columbus is wise to not fall into the trap of throwing dumb money at a new stadium. If it wasn't for MLB tie-ins, I'm sure Cols Clippers would be also in the red, and despite a strong fanbase the financial issues with the Blue Jackets are public knowledge. Austin is going to have the same problem after the initial shine wears off: throwing money at a sports franchise in the face of declining attendance. Sad!

Man, that was a FUN TIME. Really glad I went. Aaron, thanks for trying to get my son Joel in. Tom appealed to Ryan as did I, but I totally understand the liability. I just appreciate the camaraderie amongst everyone. Ryan did a great job and it's good to see everyone out there. Cody, you looked good hustling that 9-5 out there! I took some terrible pics...sue me, I was working the field at the time. IF ANYONE IS THINKING ABOUT DOING THIS....JUST. DO. IT. It doesn't matter what you're driving. I was very pleased with my 4-cyl BMW. It was fun pretty much running the entire course at redline in 2nd gear. My best was a 53.1sec but I know I can do better with a rear sway bar and some updated struts. Looking forward to next year!!!

Thanks, guys. I'm good until Thanksgiving when I get down there to see how the car runs. FWIW, car covers don't do much from my experience if the paint isn't the best to start with (early '00s GM ). I keep a cover on it and was amazed at how bad it still got. I think what the cover may have done for blocking UV doesn't cover the salt-spray or intense heat. The key is to have a garage or carport to protect the car from direct sunlight contact.

You're also assuming my comment meant that people COULDN'T afford a $30k Kia, when I was implying my faith in this automotive community that, given $30k in cash or loan approval, my CR brethren would pick far better choices for their automotive conveyance. :burn: If, however, you took my comment as squashing "dreams of a $30k RWD Stinger" as a negative, then yes...there is no hope left.
