  1. Pretty sure I remember Grant throwing challenges Miller's way...

  3. I didn't realize taking a more modern Porsche 911 and tweaking the body so it looks like a '60s/'70s 911 was a thing until I started paying attention to what Singer was doing, as well as some other Porsche tuners. I have to say...I'm really liking the concept. This thing is amazing in it's simplicity and lightweight. I love it! https://jalopnik.com/the-worlds-most-hush-hush-porsche-911-build-sounds-like-1820949099
  4. It's not even a 1.0L 3-cyl turbo... #pointyelbows #shannendohertyeyes
  5. Empty beer cans are not $8k. I'm glad it's a stick.
  6. I did the Nest Thermostat E deal for $19 ($75 rebate!) but when I got it I used the online compliance site and it ended up not being compatible with my furnace??? Just sent an email this morning to EFI, to start the refund process.
  7. Depending on how perfect you want it, I think that bumper cover could be buffed and a new grip-strip to re-install the bumper to the quarter panel could be done cheaply. Sucks that it looks like a bit of the quarter panel was dinged too.
  8. Driven this at CC&C...ridiculously fun! GLWS
  9. This same guy had an '03 Civic that we took to Carmax Sawmill. It had 140k miles and a bad brake shimmy, but it was a 1-owner EX 5-speed with cruise/AC and a sunroof. I offered him a grand but said "let's take it to Carmax to see what they'd offer". They gave him $1,500 for it. No H8 whatsoever. My deal for this Silverado is $1400. If Carmax comes out higher, I may match it. The dude just doesn't like dealing with BS and wants the truck gone once his new car gets here.
  10. Yes, every Ford/GM from the early '00s is prone to rust like crazy. I'm thankful this was a fleet vehicle that didn't have many miles on it and was taken care of well. Unfortunately, it's a V6 but at the price point I'm not going to complain that it's not a V8.
  11. This one is actually really solid (just looked at it yesterday). Owner wants to keep it through the holidays but then we're going to take it to Carmax to see what their offer is. Hoping it's a low one so I can beat it. Only rust is still surface over much of the truck. Rockers are just beginning to rust. Basically, if I can coat the underside it should hold off the spread of damage for awhile. It does have a drop-in bedliner that I would need to pull out to check on bed rust.

  13. That's a low-blow. I have family/friends where the same thing happens in Atlanta, New Orleans, and Florida from first-hand observation (look up "Jewfish"). You wouldn't say something like that unless it made your understanding - or lack of it - align with your perception of people around you. Wide brush-stroke much? Racism is everywhere...nothing "sneaky" about it. Change is gradual, and speed of change is better in some areas than others.
  14. A friend of mine has a 2001 Silverado 1500 regular cab/long bed that he's looking to sell to me for pretty cheap, as he got it for free from his father. It's got the 4.3L Vortec V6, RWD, automatic tranny, and only has 74,000 miles. AC works, which is one of the reasons why i'm interested in the truck. It's an old fleet vehicle, so it's a little scuffy on the outside, but everything works. Rusty rear bumper, and some body rust (rockers) that needs to be addressed. Anything to look out for on these '99 to 2006 Chevy/GMC pickups? This would just be for commuting, and suburban yard waste hauling. I can't leave anything stock, so in addition to updated maintenance, I'd do a 4/6 drop and some bigger used wheels/tires.
  15. That sounds like pussy talk. Sssh....you guys hear that? Sounds like a big pussy talking right there...
  16. Cops block off Woody Hayes/Lane Ave at Kenny. You won't be able to exit off of 315 anywhere near the stadium. Great points above: Lennox, Schott/Fawcett Center will be as close as you're going to get unless you get there EARLY and tailgate.

  18. ...unless the yokels get wind of you pushing in on their turf, and then the contractor/suppliers and competition squeeze you out.

Hey, Wags...Looking at the tires: why does it look like they have the contact patch so far inward, relative to the quarter-panel openings? Seems like a lot of rubber without much in the way of rear width.
