  1. If you're posting on CR at 10:10am on a weekday morning, your dreams are already crushed anyway.
  2. This is CR...NONE of you are paying over $30k for a Kia. That being said, Randy Pobst cracked me up with his review of the Stinger and it does seem like a great platform. I've got a CTS-V that I'm going to drive into the ground so aside from the hatchback, I've already got everything the Stinger could offer me that I'd want (plus I have a stick )
  3. I'm a fan of the SyTy body kit! Looking forward to progress pics.
  4. Rick, sorry I only got to judge 1 group before having to go set up tailgating, but those QR codes were CLUTCH!!! Superfast. Keep me in mind for judging next year...I love throwing my weight around at car shows. Congratulations on a successful show for the students! I'm sure it'll grow. The folks I spoke with all seem to really, really love Tolles and happy to support the school. Thanks for all your efforts in putting it together!
  5. Signs that winter is coming: 1) Leaves fall off the trees. 2) Air gets cooler. 3) PP starts trolling. 4) Birds fly south for the winter. :gabe:
  6. Chevrolet Camaro (third generation) Dimensions Wheelbase 2,565 mm (101.0 in):no::fuuuu: Length 1982–1987: 4,877 mm (192.0 in) 1988–1992: 4,890 mm (192.5 in) Width 1,850 mm (72.8 in) In the spirit of Nascarlo, I love the idea of something rusty to skin the chassis, as it can be obtained for cheap, and no one will miss it if it's hacked to death. However, an Eastside or Southside G-body with crap engine will do just nicely as well, I think https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1986-monte-carlo/6340378812.html Also, 9th Gen Cadillac Eldorado (1986-1991) - 108" WB, but 71-72" wide.
  7. Keep in mind, guys...whatever the body is needs to be from a "street" car with a VIN so that it can be titled. Ideally, Matt, I'd assume having an Ohio-titled donor (especially old enough for historical tags) would be ideal to get it in your possession easily, and then get the work done to transplant the body without the hassle of DMV inspections, etc... If you get a donor from out of state, you'll DEFINITELY want to Ohio-title it in your name as it sits before doing the body swap!!
  8. Well done on the wheelbase database... ...but what about 72" width? I'd love to see some forgotten '70s junk show up as a donor. For example, a Chevy Citation is 104.9" WB, but only 68" wide. However, a Chrysler Cordoba is 115" WB and 77" wide. G-bodies are 108"WB but 72"wide...
  9. I've been backing off FB, personally. Also, this post was more "I'm surprised I ran into someone that's also on CR" out in the real world, aside from C&C, race events or car shows. Unlike social media, I appreciate that most of what goes on through CR stays in this community. Just thought it was a small, SMALL world when we met each other at a random event through common connections we didn't know existed.
  10. Matt, I love the way you're thinking. As a big fan of Roadkill, I read that first paragraph, saw that chassis and instantly thought Nascarlo myself. why spend a bunch of money hacking up old metal to try to make it perform like that chassis....when you could just RESKIN THAT THING? Also, I'm waiting for Kerry to chime in with his auto-savant knowledge...
  11. Looking to repair some rust holes in my '82 F-100. I do have a welder, but I'm only expecting to get a few years out of this rust repair...treat the areas with Corroseal and just cosmetically cover it up. Anyone have some fiberglass sheet, short- and long-strand Bondo? I've already got some Bondo to do final coats of filler. Just checking what CR has leftover.
  12. I love the placement of the turbos in the fender openings. Great Corvette indeed. Those C3's were styled well for sidepipes.
  13. Myself and Supplicium (Andrew) just met at the Blue Jackets game. Post up your pics of CR members!!!
  14. Love a sleeper, even more love for a beater (using spare parts/junkyard metal and pocket change to go fast). Still not the biggest fan of FWD cars with a lot of money being built to go fast. This isn't the 1980s...there are PLENTY of really solid USA/Euro/Asian RWD or AWD platforms to use! That's all I'll give up to your "co-worker".

    He Gone

Indeed...sorry for the loss of your father!
  16. Looking forward to Indians tonight! I went to their 100th win last Thursday. Beautiful game and the team just has a bunch of contributors. It's a great time to watch the Tribe.
  17. The good news is that the longer you delay in building that project, the better/cheaper the tech will be to do it. Think about a wrecked Tesla drivetrain in something like a Saturn SL... :woowoo: EDIT: I just realized that kids these days have no idea who Bubb Rubb was...
  18. I don't think so. Respectfully, if the need for additional EV infrastructure (charging, electricity storage, on-the-road electric transmission) grows, it's directly correlated with the mainstream adoption of EVs. Outside of government regulations mandating the transition to EV, OEMs will have to incentivize the market to buy EVs: make them cheap/desirable to purchase and operate. This means that, pound for pound, EV's will have to be better/cheaper performers than gas cars in order for it all to work long-term.
  19. If you also look at Mazda, their new HCCI engine... http://autoweek.com/article/technology/watch-how-mazda-built-new-engine-technology ...will extract a lot more efficiency over the energy harnessed in conventional gasoline. In addition, while battery technology keeps getting better, there are still a lot of hybrids that utilize range-extending engines...still requiring petroleum-based fuels. Still good times for us internal-combustion fans!
  20. I try to stay connected with the aviation industry, and this Zunum blew my mind. Over decades of propulsion improvements that never made it mainstream, this article perfectily encapsulates the need for 1) more efficient air travel through viable evolutions in jet/turbofan tech, and 2) Better use of our FAA-approved national network of airports. https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/05/how-zunum-aeros-hybrid-electric-planes-aim-to-transform-flight-starting-in-2022/ Very excited to see where this goes. This. 1000% this.
  21. Avoid doing that at 12:45am, when there are cops around! :gabe: I've done this procedure before: You don't need to do a lot of swerving in your lane, just turn off radio/AC, roll down both front windows. Try to be on a straight stretch of highway with concrete walls; the sound should bounce off and make it easier to hear. Give it a slight side-to-side motion and listen if the whining gets louder or goes away from one side to another.
  22. Whatever it is, it's lost on Kerry because: 1) the social suffering is difficult to define. 2) comparative data reinforcing disparity between classes is nonexistent. Therefore, he'll label you an insensitive caveman and dismiss your opinion or life experiences.
  23. Motherfuckers...I just got a back-to-back cell phone call from 614-335-6452. I left a business meeting (gotta go back) but barked at the b!tch on the line about the gaul they have double-calling me from a telemarketing firm. Their customer service "line" is a Gmail account: http://kfor.com/2017/01/24/mysterious-call-will-leave-you-scratching-your-head/ I seriously wish I could find out where these were coming from. It's incredibly annoying.
