If anyone is mad, I'm guessing it's someone feverishly commenting to an internet forum post using an iPad whilst on the toilet. Work on your time management and task prioritization. "TMI" responses win you points towards your argument. You don't sound glad, and this wasn't a chat so much as you running around metaphorically-speaking, referencing case law and anything else that came to your mind, when all I was suggesting - as you clearly forgot in your unnecessary coverage of every other consumer protection tenant AROUND Dieselgate since there is no "fix" yet - is that people offered a buyout are still expecting more blood when there are greater corporate atrocities abound. It's a larger view I have the luxury of exploring since I'm not directly affected as a consumer of VW's decisions.

Let me try to respond to Kerry in a way that he understands. That's a terrible analogy to this situation. And you're passive-aggressive comment could be applied to anyone who bought a VW/BMW...where does the absolution come into play that German cars were built by people/families for murdering factions during WWII? Sounds like if you want to get in the weeds, it would be tough NOT to support any criminal enterprise because nearly EVERY company broke laws at some point. I'm calling the cops on Kerry...he's tearing labels off mattresses. That's judgy. How's your Jeep running? Old motorcycles running rich? Properly disposed-of chemicals/parts from mechanical repairs? They can still own and drive their car...no mandate for VW to take TDIs from customers, albeit with anticipated greater depreciation. If market forces and dimished values were a crime, Jaguar and Mercedes would never be able to sell a car in the U.S. Right...but Toyota isn't buying Camry's back after people died or GM's not buying back Cavaliers because people died...VW is buying back whole cars because they broke a law and people are STILL treating them horribly, with little regard to the double-standard OR whether they should've bought from VW in the first place, given their ideals. No...I'm disappointed that all the above entities you've listed serve a customer, a citizen, and/or consumer that has ever-evolving expectations to be served at an increasingly disregarded for personal responsibility or common-sense approach to what is reasonable, given an offense. I'm not challenging the laws, and I'm not suggesting that people should care any more or less about the environment, consumer protection laws, etc - LIKE YOU CLEARLY ARE COMFORTABLE JUDGING - but I am lamenting the absence of basic tenants that consumers should have. The consumer cannot be trusted to make purchasing and consumption decisions for their best interests - that's now the responsibility of the corporation; The more that we can litigate "caveat emptor" out of a free-market economy, the better. It's not like Takata, where a safety device ends up KILLING people...it's a company who knowingly worked around EPA rules but the vehicles STILL operate properly, just not as advertised. I'm all about taking a buyout when one is offered, but I'd do it with a smirk on my face...not some self-righteous attitude that my faith in Corporate America is shattered by VW and their lies... - Aren't there dotted examples of other OEMs doing the same thing? KIA/Hyundai and GM inflating MPG ratings? - Are people not offended that their information is being skimmed from phones, even though they are promised security? - Are people not upset when businesses cut corners to save a buck? Stop eating at fast food joints, drinking processed beverages, filling up through major petroleum company gas-stations, buying clothes from CostCo and devices from Apple, banking at Wells Fargo...

This was a recommended video, but I have to say this guy makes cleaning a car seem simple. I've seen pics of guys super-sudsing a car...never done that. I'm also not using microfiber towels in EVERY friggin step like this guy. Nice tips...definitely some stuff I can do to improve my cleaning game.

Your first paragraph - Facebook is that way because it's so open-platformed. My nieces/nephews and their friends sub 16-years old don't even use FB anymore...it's all SnapChat and IG...more focused in terms of content restriction. Same with Twitter and LinkedIn (bit LI is more the community...you add non-business noise like personal photos or political stuff and you'll be lambasted). Second - Can a tribe be accessed through multiple users/user IDs like FB?

What were they doing with a TDI? I have a hard time believing their first and third vehicles weren't a lifted Bro-Jeep on Rockstar wheels and a leased, black 2015 Mustang GT with bolt-on straight-pipe exhaust... ...and ALLLLLL the LED's eBay can throw at the guy.

So, thanks for the suggestions, guys. I tend to follow the Bill Clinton-led mantra of "Beg for forgiveness, instead of asking for permission" but happy I called the City of UA. Code and Building dude looked at my plot, and I told him I was looking at doing a 10x20' or so carport. He said that UA treats carports like detached garage structures, meaning cannot be within 3' of a property line, and max size is restricted by total square footage of property. He looked at an aerial map of my property and said I had plenty of room to add. The Building permit would be $50, and the design/construction plans needed to contain dimensions and building materials, to be approved by the zoning board. He said they've seen a lot of carports come up for approval in the last couple of years. Materials aren't as big of a concern as the "detached garage" minimums, like a 7' opening and what walls/screens would be used. Waiting for an email from then outlining the code minimums. Wifey OK'd the project. This should be a fun process!

So, I've been researching "temporary" garages, looking for a way to add some sort of rain/sun/snow shelters to cover 1-3 of my cars that are not in my 2-car garage. Also, this would be a spot to cover some of the kids' toys (cheap bikes, bigwheel, sports stuff) so I don't have to keep them in the garage, and easy access for the kids when they want to play without having to move vehicles. I've looked at VersaTube, which seems like a well-engineered solution, but admittedly I don't need something that is 10+ feet high, as most of my "toys" are lowered to the ground. Plus, in case it hasn't been assumed, I'm trying for something as low-key so my neighbors won't get TOO pissed. No sense in telling CR my intentions without outlining limitations. The other natural go-to on the cheap side would be a 17'x10' garage for $180-$250 through Harbor Freight, but I don't want a tarp solution if I can avoid one for the cost. Plus, props to the other automotive guys I've seen on YouTube, buying a HF car shelter and having to pretty much DOUBLE the number of tubes just to halfway strengthen the frame! I have a cold chopsaw, and a welder...let alone air tools and such...I realized this weekend WHY NOT TRY TO DO SOMETHING MYSELF? Has anyone made their own carport? I'm thinking I can source steel from Stargate Metals in Grandview, and use composite/aluminum roofing panels....make a frame that's welded and bolted together, anchored to the driveway. Looking for experiences. Thanks!

Same problem on our 2010 Odyssey...this snow shows that we won't be able to make it thru the winter. I'm just going to get new replacement A/S tires. If you were talking about getting new wheels/tires (upgrade in the spring), then do snow tires on the factory wheels.
