  1. Love the stance!!! Those wheels look great as well. The front chrome "skinny" bumper works really well with the chrome lines and rectangular headlights much better than I thought they would...also ties in nicely with the side markers. I enjoy your updates, man...help push Winter 2014/15 outta the way.
  2. One thing your post reminded me of...QUALITY. While cheap exhaust parts for most street cars is going to be Wagner, and interior pieces are going to be Dorman (regardless of parts store or online source), I appreciate the choice you get online. As Berto mentioned, I only need to do the "Alternator Dance" where I swap 3-4 bad parts for good ONCE and I don't want to ever deal with that part company again. QFT. Although a few years ago they had this cool pothead guy in a blacked out 1st gen Grand Cherokee that would give crackhead "corporate rate" pricing on everything I bought; the receipt would say "Dirty Trails, LLC" or some ish like that. If I needed a part I'd drive by Crown Pointe plaza and look for his black Jeep before going in to buy it.
  3. Agreed...that's like a Honda Civic in FL...tons available and easy for OP's to own. http://www.mercedesexpert.com/inventory/view/8227241/1997-Mercury-Grand-Marquis-GS-Naples-FL
  4. You went to Young's Dairy too???!?!? :gabe:
  5. I think the current rectangular lights look more classic...LR was trying too hard introducing the multi-lens headlights on newer Disco's. http://www.mercedesexpert.com/inventory/view/2686251/2004-Land-Rover-Discovery-SE-Naples-FL Funny that this thread pops up as this link above is from the guy I bought my BMW and Jag from in FL. That can be had for cheaper than listed and paintwork could be perfected for about $800...FYI :masturboy:
  6. Manual Disco's are like hen's teeth these days. Congrats on the new purchase! I've always liked Disco's but the 3 people close to me that had one or two always had a ridic amount of problems (granted, none of them were DIY car people). I remember my roommate had one leased around 2001 and I borrowed it to run some errands. I grabbed the rear door/hatch handle by the license plate and it crumbled in my hands. I sh!t you not, less than 3 years and 36k miles, and this metal handle totally rusted through. Thinking about it, one of the owners was my SiL, and she has a new LR4 that's an amazing vehicle...light years ahead of the Disco. Again...I do love the machine and they are unique to drive...just not at all the reliability I'd want in even a 3rd/4th car...
  7. Jack B. It's gone now...no need to go searching for old posts. There was a "purge" a few years ago of old user IDs where they were locked out due to duplicate users, bots, bans, etc...IIRC went from over 7k members to under 2500 active users and now it's building back up again. I'm pretty sure his username was purged back then.
  8. He used to be on the forum...had some great lines. I think he pissed off the O.G. CR guys at some point. I too follow his stuff on TTAC (as do a few others on here).
  9. Good call!!! I swear I overheard something in the first episode that made me think New Zealand, but Shropshire was a reference point that I googled: West Midlands of England. I hear ya. Wait until you see some of the solutions he comes up with in future episodes. The dry banter keeps me chuckling, but the impressive metalwork/welding keeps me engaged (how about the jigs/jacks he designed and made himself!)

  11. Wow, J...this things come a long way! Looks great. GLWS.
  12. Damn, Jason...there's 8 episodes...I'm just posting the first and it's up to you big boys to watch all of them!

  15. As with many of you, I lived at Advance Auto Parts with at least 2-3 visits a week. Within a very short timeframe - especially relative to my lack of technological expertise - I've shifted nearly 100% to buying parts online. Shipping is as fast as I could want it to be, given a busy family/career schedule, and of course the price/choice spread can't be beat. However, on Cleetus ('82 Ford F100) I still have a starter and power steering pump that I bought in 2012 for cheap, but with a lifetime warranty. Recently, the PS pump started whining like a bitch, but it still works. Really need to get the belts replaced also... I went just now to Advance on Bethel, and chuckled to myself as it had been forever since I was there. The guy at the counter was very nice, and said that they converted software programs and lost records more than 2 years old. He said it would've been difficult to retain everything given the extremely large amount of parts purchase info, which I appreciate. However, the $29 part is now $40-$57, and they don't have a record of my "lifetime" warranty? The counter guy gave me a handwritten note saying that he'd honor the return if I bring in the part. I thanked him, saying that if they couldn't honor the warranty for the exchange, I would've just gone with RockAuto. He said "Oh yes...I know that all too well." Which got me thinking..... There will always be a need for parts stores as long as we are all owning our own cars, but has the activity at parts stores dropped off significantly? Do online retailers like Amazon and RockAuto killing the retail parts industry? Curious what the numbers look like...
  16. Entertaining Kiwi's doing an impossibly complex resto/rally project. You're welcome

  18. I've got a Shark Navigator...at first I got it as a "secondary" vacuum as it had hose attachments and my Oreck XL didn't. After the fire, I just pocketed the insurance payment for a new Oreck. The Navigator has actually been very good...if anything I find vacuuming a 2000sqft house makes me have to dump the bin a couple of times... What are people's thoughts on a refurbished vacuum? $500 Dyson for $279 kinda deal...
  19. We just picked up a big rabbit this weekend and while it's been clean in our previously pet-free house, the Shark mini vacuum just won't cut it; I try to keep my abode clean. Anyone recommend a great vacuum? I'd like something not too expensive, so a Dyson is fine if someone thinks it's the greatest thing ever, but I'm happy with a good Hoover... House is a split-level ranch, mostly tile/hardwood flooring with wool area rugs. 3 flights of stairs so a good stair attachment would be nice. CR treats me well. Looking to buy something today. Thanks!
  20. Movie was really well done. It's 2hrs45min long and it needed all of that time, though thankfully it was well-edited so it never drags and stays on story line all the time. Kubrick's 2001/2010 series and other recent space movies like Contact will keep you reminded that this is a story often told....but Interstellar manages to be fantastical and somewhat believable, even with such far-fetched concepts. Loved it.:thumbup:
  21. Thanks, guys. I saw kickass.to but figured I'd field opinions from my CR brotatoes.
  22. We've gotten a few movies from time to time on Kickasstorrents.com...just went looking for it and found out earlier this week that it was banned/taken down. Any recommendations for other movie torrent sites?
  23. Can a tree maintain ownership of itself if it never knowingly entered into a contract in the first place?
