I'm likely picking up a 2005 Volvo S60 from a neighbor for a price I can't resist. 110k miles, AWD automatic with the 2.5L 5cyl turbo. However, there are 3 things it needs to have remedied: - Timing Belt - easy enough. - P0302 Cyl 2 misfire - will do a compression check to make sure there's nothing wrong mechanically with the cylinder. Will swap coilpacks and spark plugs later as needed. - BATTERY DRAIN... The last one is going to be my biggest concern. He says it will die if he doesn't drive the car within 2-3 days. He's not driving it now hence why he's getting rid of it. I'm probably going to have to have a shop look at it, but anything I can do to diagnose the circuits that may be faulty? For all the multimeters I get through Harbor Freight, I'm not good at diagnosing electrical issues. Any thoughts? Googling "Volvo electrical drain" makes my head hurt.

https://jalopnik.com/you-cant-even-see-this-hypersonic-sled-hit-6-599-mph-1838027056 6,599 (not 6,600???) MPH speed is amazing cake; it's the meme's and comments at the bottom of the page that are the sprinkles on top of it.

So, Wags post the most race-related content on CR in days and zero responses in 8 hours. LOL. Love you, Wags! <3

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a28957090/2020-toyota-camry-trd-drive/ As you guys get older, and haven't succumbed to SUVagina life yet... - 0-60 - 5.8 seconds - 301hp - Under $32k (apparently, that's cheap for new cars these days) - 19" lightweight wheels - Hotboi-inspired body kit All kidding aside, it's crazy that there's a Camry that performs this well.

I've finally been seeing them IRL...it's a surprisingly athletic design and a great looking car. I'm still not a fan of the nose but at least they're trying zomething different.

I've got a guy in NJ that has cans of R12 for sale, would be like $100 shipped for 2 14oz cans I believe...I just haven't had time to research what the fill/gauge tool would be as he doesn't have that. I don't even know if a conventional R-134 nozzle is the same.

So, I saw this app pop up in my Insta feed, and I DL'd it....now, I'm not sure what to do. Would be cool if I could meet other peeps for a cruise every now and then but it seems I have actual *friends* I could probably text first. Anyone using this app for meetups or cruises? Any good groups to join? Always interested in broadening my horizons. Thanks!

Wow...those seats and that red stitching are beautiful. That FMIC is *slightly* larger than stock Congratulations on the new car! Curious, with you being in Wisconsin, that Byers in good ol' Columbus had the best deal on the right car for you? Very cool, but just surprised you didn't get it closer. Mind you, Trey is awesome...but still...

Great deal.

I'm reminded of Cordell's warnings every time I see a Lambda-chassis SUV from GM. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/08/29/2020-gmc-acadia-at4-pricing/#slide-1293416 So...let's abuse the chassis in the AT4 version, and stick a 2.0L turbo-4 in everything else? Wondering if the soccer moms and non-car people will notice.

Let's be honest...it's a turbo FD RX-7 in 2019: you could smear feces on the interior and it'll still sell for north of $30k on BaT. Well done as always, Tim!

My bad on the 1g/2g mixup. Logic still stands why the 2g still has lemon-esque problems.

I think that's why her BF was quick to post on Twitter that, to paraphrase, "there's going to be a lot coming out in the news about what happened". Everyone is quick to Monday-morning QB how/why it happened.

Srsly, doe. There's a whole lotta ingenuity out in poor regions that need creative engineering outlets, where people learn and practice skills that can get them a meaningful career and living wage to improve themselves and their neighborhood. SPARC could've helped with that when money events were over... Not like an Aarons Rent-To-Own or a Goodwill, where you can get a flatscreen to plug in and tune out stuck in your crappy home. The thing I've definitely learned in my 20+ year adult life is that greenspace matters. People will want to ride bikes, play games, or hang outside with friends and that is far healthier than people stuck inside.

TMZ and other outlets exist because people will pay to see that sort of video.

+1. I love the recent Ford offerings but the stories I've heard - just on CR - about... F-150 Transmission Mustang manual transmission GT350 VooDoo engines popping FWD PowerShift transmission issues ST/RS engines MKC powertrain issues ....let alone other things has been a big disappointment. My company Lincoln MKC has a seriously annoying heatshield(?) rattle at cold startup coming from under the car (brand new!) and a disturbing part-throttle/cruising hesitation rolling on the highway. I wouldn't ever really consider this over import competition if I was buying one used years from now for my children. Yes, it's turbo...but any joy that should come with boost is lost on the stupid transmission as well. OP put together a killer Raptor, it really is sad to see so many problems with a truck that should be building an amazing reputation for itself right now. Years from now people would be like "Tundra TRD Pro? Cool truck!".........."1st-gen Raptor? Yikes! You must've gotten that for cheap." At least the Ecoboost V6's seem to be doing OK....?

https://jalopnik.com/fastest-woman-on-four-wheels-jessi-combs-killed-in-jet-1837654356 Ugh, just read this as well. She was a GREAT personality when I saw her on TV (back when that was a thing 10+ years ago) and enjoyed her on cameos around YouTube. Died way too young. Very sad indeed. She did a ton for women in the auto-motorsports/aftermarket industry in her 36 years. Respect.

They closed that Winking Lizard - Bethel location down. Would be happy to join for drinks after kiddos go to bed. Gallo's on Bethel (next to MicroCenter) is a good dinner spot but I'll let you crazy kids pick a location.

I'm definitely a fan, it's just the yellow calipers that throw it all off. Congrats on the new ride!

Retail is looking more for appropriate space at a sq/ft rent that works with the budget, serving a per-capita that fits their customer base. Not sure how many bowling alleys have popped up since the 1970s but other new concepts (like TopGolf and Scene75) definitely try to find land that's big enough and cheap enough to build indoor space. Could be in a warehouse, could be out in a failed mall, or a new greenfield build.

+1. Although, Aldi has a nice produce selection for cheap. I've gone there in the past (off of Mound Street) when I lived downtown...easy to get to, fresh produce and canned soups for office lunches.

I am. The wife and I did talk about it and I'll put in a lower offer near the end of this season if it doesn't sell. I've offered to help her however she needs it now...and that would be in trying to sell it. I'd need to sell something I currently have, though...CTS-V would definitely have to move. Trying to avoid FB Marketplace

Trying to help my neighbor whose husband suddenly passed away a few months ago. She's looking to sell his Jeep. I don't have a ton of info but if you're interested please PM me for her number. 1970 Jeep CJ5 - 37k original miles - has top and backseat, as well as rear spare tire with a jerry can mount on the back. Some Jeep club member suggested she ask $9k for it.

Just saw a buddy of mine on Facebook is selling two tickets at 23C row 5 seats 23 and 24…

As a car guy that dabbles in sports when it's interesting to me (Buckeye football, Indians baseball, the drama that is Kitchens' Browns), I look at this evolving story from the standpoint of a father, watching my own kids growing up in a society that is, for multiple reasons, abandoning football. https://deadspin.com/what-andrew-luck-means-1837554491 Andrew Luck's decision is going to have ramifications throughout NFL. Really interesting event here... EDIT: If you're wondering where I'm coming from, understand the decline in students (and families) wanting to play football, and schools across the country moving to flag football or some wierd variants of it. I'm seeing it in UA and friends in other school districts; It's crazy how much it's changed in only a few years.
