  1. Nature abhors a vacuum. If someone figures a way to integrate those steps to improve the business process with a meaningful result, then you’ll see a change.
  2. “Durango exudes personality”? I also agree...a used Charger seems like a good option. What you trade off in reliability, you make up for in a platform that will have cheap parts/servicing. If you’ve broken the seal on an automatic, why not check out a Cadillac or Lincoln? EDIT: can’t go wrong with Infiniti Q-series, M-series used...
  3. +1. Noticed that too. Great idea, Tim! ...because when your rockstar pics ARE blasted over the intarwebz, at least you can get some free advertising.
  4. At this point I wouldn’t even bother with a ‘90s LT1. The aftermarket is too expensive for the power you can make. The only reason would be for weight to keep the 928 as 50/50 as possible. Would the Renegade kit support the LS? That, or an aluminum-headed L98/SBC should be fine. It’s not going to need more than 300-350hp.
  5. With that much mold now, I can almost guarantee the drywall/insulation/HVAC is going to be ripped out and replaced. How is the circuit breaker? If it’s not up to code, the electrician will have to replace/upgrade everything to bring it current. (No pun intended)
  6. Yes...sounds like just the kits. Despite the internet valuations, it sounds like you have a solid runner with some minor issues that don’t hurt it...but won’t command a really good price. I would focus on keeping it and doing the Renegade swap, with working A/C.
  7. David, text me and I can help you in the evenings.
  8. Andy, great seeing you (and the M2 in person) at CC&C. The tires look extra meaty in person when you take away the wheelgap. EssFo, the transformation on your truck is ridiculous. Looks awesome!
  9. LOL! Love that it made the TV. I got that turd to shine. Had a blast at the parade; you know I’m a ham to get the crowd happy. A little bit of red fringe to cover the rocker panel rust for now... We’ve got high hopes for our neighborhood float. My V6 Silverado pulled a 26’ trailer like a champ, rattling flexplate and all...
  10. He's got the $20 Spider-Man board now...trucks that don't turn worth anything, wheel bearings that hardly spin. Not that he's thrashing now, but if he doesn't get slightly better equipment soon, he'll likely give it up. Plus, with the go-kart I got him, the lawn mower, and his bike; anything I can get him that causes him to understand maintenance and modifications is a good thing. Great ideas, guys (Old Skool, ads in Thrasher, blanks). I like the idea of understanding more about quality trucks/bearings/wheels and just getting a cheap board.
  11. My 8-year old has a hand-me-down skateboard that he’s definitely been using. I rebuilt the wheels (repacked the bearing grease) but it’s still an older bird that doesn’t seem to work well. Some of his friends recommended going to Zumiez...for board recommendations. $150???? Not part of the budget. Anyone on here have kids that skateboard, or still do yourself? Recommendations for a board/trucks/wheels?
  12. Here's the fun, somewhat relaxing part of having an open mind: - If there is alien life that got here at some point (or will), it comes through technology and understandings we cannot begin to fathom. - If you feel the need to staunch-ly be anti-aliens, you have to be on the negative all of the time. In the face of any new technological breakthroughs, new views/readings on furthest reaches of the known universe...you have to shit on it. No matter what we discover. What a crappy way to live. EDIT: Rogan pretty much confirmed my comments at 2:05. Just finished the video (shit that was long)...great conversation. Really interesting concepts discussed.
  13. This. I got a Predator motor and some other bigger HF items in years past at the W. Broad location using 20% or 25% off coupons, but they are definitley sticklers now for "qualified" products. I just got a HF mailer with bright orange coupons on the cover: 30% OFF* *any item under $10 Wow, HF...you're...uhh...too generous?
  14. I got the 3ton low-profile Steel HF jack (with a T-handle), and it’s been awesome. Great lifting power (for my Lincoln and Silverado) and a huge height range for lowered vehicles.
  15. I like the idea of any tile solution not really caring about the quality of the pad underneath (concrete: cracks, oil/paint stains, chips/spauling). Only concerns I would have with ceramic/porcelain tiles would be impact damage, or if water gets underneath the grout and freezes in the winter...but if you're doing this much to your garage, you'd think it would already be heated. With the amount of water Tim's looking at with his side hustle, I'd highly recommend perforated composite tiles.
  16. Srsly...a beefy 7.3L gas engine, off-road chops, and looks the business? https://jalopnik.com/the-2020-ford-super-duty-tremor-is-an-off-roader-with-a-1835903734 INSTA BRO-DOZER Well done, Ford. I'm a fan, even though I'll likely never own one until one pops up 20 years from now for dirt cheap after we've all gone electric and I can buy it for giggles. Does the Ram Power Wagon sell well? Now that I'm thinking about the "factory bro-dozer" space, I don't think I see many running around Ohio...
  17. +1. The maths around interstellar travel are ridiculous. Given a long enough timeframe, there has been or will be a visit from alien life at some point. Although, if you watch the movie "Life", you'll definitely hope that it stays far, FAR away from us. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_(2017_film)
  18. Hit up Eric on here (ec_E92). He just installed the RaceDeck(???) but took his time and did a great job making it edge up to the sides of his garage. It wasn't cheap - like $2/sq ft - but I was thoroughly impressed when I saw the finished product and having a perforated surface makes perfect sense for trapping water and dirt. Plus, damaged tiles can be replaced. We had an epoxy garage floor in our house in FL, and the hot tire pickup was ridiculous. Mats or tile floors are the way to go for sure.
  19. Install a shift kit. The most expensive one I can buy. GOT IT :gabe: Thank you, Scott! Your GM expertise is succeeded only by your deft touch with words. Didn't even know the computer (PCM? TCM?) could be tuned.
  20. The fact that the Camaro has had to endure embarassing refreshes in the face of a Chrysler product that is 12+ years old, and a Ford product that outsells it globally by a 2x-3x multiple, tells you something. The fact that Camaro's great Alpha platform and strong powertrain offerings can't help it is even more telling. I want to like the Camaro, but where it seems Ford and FCA know what they're doing and have a finished product that sells well...Camaro needs to be better. 2018 Sales (USA) 1. Ford Mustang | 75,842 | -7.4%*** 2. Dodge Challenger | 66,716 | +3.0% 3. Chevrolet Camaro | 50,963 | -25.0% ***add another 40-45k units sold around the world, where Camaro sold less than 2k.
  21. My '01 Silverado has ticked 84k miles, and as I've had it for more than 1.5 years and put close to 8k miles on it, I'm realizing the one fluid circuit I haven't touched yet is the automatic trans. It's running fine, but there is a persistent rattle that sounds like a flexplate. I'll have to pull the trans to get that fixed, so I'm considering getting the fluid/filter changed as well. - Has anyone ever installed a shift kit? I've seen dozens of videos over the years with guys taking the valvebodies out, drilling little holes for the steel balls and replacing the tiny springs...never done it myself because I'm proud to say I haven't had too many automatics aside from our Odysseys. https://www.amazon.com/4L60E-4L65E-4L70E-Transmission-Rebuild/dp/B00B5H7ZRS/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=4L60+shift+kit+transgo&pd_rd_r=c3608c8c-cac7-4c1f-b2cf-d2181fc7d271&pd_rd_w=UtDbC&pd_rd_wg=GZNgk&pf_rd_p=59f9fe0c-f23e-4cfc-a058-a740164e1168&pf_rd_r=1SVV493JH8P85E0150QR&qid=1561471055&s=automotive&sr=1-1-catcorr&vehicle=2001-47-491-20--31-6-7-1306----145--&vehicleName=2001+Chevrolet+Silverado+1500#customerReviews - "Corvette Servos" seem to be what people also talk about replacing to firm up the shifts. Anyone do that as well on a 4L60? https://www.amazon.com/WCT-700R4-4L60E-Corvette-Servo/dp/B0081H7E58/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Is it worth the effort? I'm not expecting better performance, but if it makes the trans a little bit smoother/firmer and at least guarantees better life behind a 4.3L V6, then I'm happy to do the work. Wanting anyone's feedback on doing this mod...
