Same as 2 Sweet: I'm not driving the truck everyday, but in inclement weather i'd rather put wear-and-tear on the tee-ruk over one of the cars... or when I have to double-duty the DD drive with a pick-up or drop-off, I can do everything in one trip. If I was driving a 20ft long, 6000+ SUV with one person in it then YEEAAHHH...it would get old! I'll take 260ft-lbs, beefy 2-piston calipers and a 3/5 drop for the time-being.

Political dumpster fire Part III Greg and Kerry Vs CR

Nothing is ever perfect, but it takes an amazing level of ineptitude by a President to: 1) Alienate his own cabinet and network of close advisors. 2) Divide a country and denegrate much of what makes the USA great on a global stage (diversity, human rights recognition, compassion). 3) Make economic and geopolitical decisions/comments that make his "short-term gain, long-term loss" wins not even that fruitful...while setting us up for imminent economic failure. I still stand by my decision at that time, given Hillary as the alternative. It’s just....I didn’t think....he could be sooo bad... -

https://www.apnews.com/7a5a0eb3f15c4f4a9f7fd34680c1bc68 Just a reminder, that significant turnover within the first 2 years of a presidential administration - often with multiple new people in several posts - are the hallmark signs of a healthy presidency. Can we slow down the greatness a bit? I’m having a tough time digesting all the #MAGA. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2251016002 -

Guys, thanks for the advice. I'll keep it no-rinse. Looking forward to temps breaking above 40 degrees

I've got an electric powerwasher that does a great job for car duties during warmer months. Every winter though, I contemplate getting some Sharkbites and tee-ing up some water lines out to my garage so I can wash - or at least power wash the salt off - of my cars on a more regular basis. Instead of running a whole new hose faucet, I have also thought about simply splicing a couple valves into the existing water lines in my basement running to one of the existing outdoor faucets, repurposing it to warm/hot water. Has anyone done this to their home - hot water or hot/cold faucet for winter washing? If I'm running a power washer, can I run straight hot water (105*) or do I have to have some cool water as well?

These are factory-sized 245s on 16x8 wheels. seemed like a lot to me...though I may be wrong. Any info I can read that may explain that amount of weight being acceptable?

Props to FCA...the new RAM is just an attractive-looking truck from every angle. It's just so disappointing how rust-prone they are. Ford has my interest, with a combination of engineering and styling that works for me.

While I'm ragging on GM "phoning it in"... Interesting, GM! Instead of using your corporate logo, something you hold in high regard and cherish, you're going with an industrial script? How clever... Ahh, that's right...Ford did that back in 2010. Way to be original and groundbreaking in truck design, Chevrolet.

Appreciate the post. Friend of mine was installing his Tacoma tires on some new wheels (same diameter, more aggressive offset and width) and I recommended Mr. Tire on Reed Road. They are great guys who have treated me well in the past with multiple vehicles. Got a text from him last night saying that Mr. Tire recommended almost 5oz of weights per wheel. I said that sounds very excessive. He confirmed this morning that Mr. Tire "doesn't work much on trucks" and suggested I balance them somewhere else. Gave him a 25% discount for mounting but not balancing. I referred him to Lewis Center Discount Tire. This is important in that, most of us on CR know what we want or need done. I feel for the 95% (and climbing) of sheeple who can't turn a wrench or are completely ignorant of mechanics. Can't tell you how many calls/texts/conversations I have every week from family friends who need car advice....

Forgot the new Blazer has the divorced lighting elements in the front fascia. https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/chevrolet/blazer/2019/overview I've always liked different, but despite the "new" (mid-'00s European design) Chevy is using, I will never forget there's some crappy, lease-only engineering to this vehicle. At least GM is smart enough to know that the loyalists that berate the New-Ugly Chevrolet can go to Caddy, Buick, GMC for their fix.

I have a blue MX500 that I can check to see if my 7yo still wants it. We got it for free and I bought new batteries at Batteries Plus. (Ssh...he's getting a go-kart for Christmas)

Ford did it first (like it or not). Seriously, just extend a chrome CHEVROLET bar and it's the same design. http://image.trucktrend.com/f/9663924+re0+ar0+st0/163-0806-01z%2B2008-best-in-class-work-truck%2B2008-ford-super-duty-f250-front-view.jpg GM: phoning it in since 1978.

People said the new-for-2014 Jeep Cherokee was hideously ugly, with it's wierd light display...then the Nissan Juke copied it, Hyundai Kona, 2020 Chevrolet Silverado... I'm not supporting this hideous design, but if you see it a few hundred thousand times, it may grow on you after awhile.

Just heard it on NPR. “Breaking news”. They never do that.

That Anderson cam lopes nicely...not too sluggish but with a nice chop. Car looks amazing. Great job getting everything done!

Great write-up, Andy! I know that wash bay... I've got a bottle of Iron-X I've used from time to time on wheels....is it OK to use after a wash directly on body panels or does it need to be diluted? What did you use as a spray lubricant for the clay bar in the Zep bottle, just soapy water? Looks like Optimum No-Rinse...

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-05/u-s-trade-gap-widens-most-since-2015-china-deficit-hits-record So, two things to take away: 1) China is importing less of our goods (led by aircraft and soybeans in declines). 2) Imports rose. We're not manufacturing enough in the U.S. to satisfy our consumption needs. U.S./China trade war is working, but whom is it benefitting? -

LOL. Waiting for Trumpers to rail that the article was from the Washington Post. -
I would love to be a fly on the wall in one of Cordell's training sessions: - Corporate trainers that are thrice-removed from the actual product engineers that designed/manufactured the parts...watched over by managers that are forced to know a product only through confidential corporate documents. - Required classes filled with ASE Master Techs who maybe have faith in 50-75% of the components they are trained to service. - Side-jabber about new technology being introduced to an unprepared market. - Feedback from said ASE Master Techs to said Corporate Trainers about ways to improve the product.....after it's already being rolled out. - Jaded people drinking themselves to sleep before moving on to the next region. I listen to Cordell with great respect for his experience. When an all-new product comes out and he's already complaining, it gives me pause and helps me appreciate the LS-engine and Ford's EcoBoost lineups a little more. If you're talking about me, hey...hope springs eternal. I didn't put a reservation deposit towards that schyster! What can I say? I'm a fan of new technology not as a bleeding-edge innovator, but someone that appreciates watching an idea come through the process all the way to a finished good for the consumer to buy...and maybe buy second- third- or fourth-hand years down the road at a discount.

Comment amended for relevance to the new Silverado 2.7T. EDIT: How do you stall a new truck on center ice at a NHL game? https://jalopnik.com/the-new-chevy-silverado-trail-boss-stalling-on-detroits-1830769305

Sorry I'm not more familiar with Ford dealership servicing centers in the area, but you're right in starting there. Germain Ford is up in the Sawmill/Powell area? Good luck! Just before Thanksgiving, our 2012 Odyssey (63k miles) had a couple of alerts pop up. Googled it to find it might be a misfire. Roush Honda confirmed it was a known issue with the piston rings not being oriented properly in some Honda 3.5L V6's from this era. Rebuilt the engine last week while I was out for Thanksgiving. Extended warranty from Honda on this specific issue covered it all. My point is - as much as we do our own work, if you're not sure what's wrong with the Fiesta, or don't want to be on the hook for repairing, you're good to definitely get it checked out. There may be a free-fix the dealer will do that Googling can't solve.
