  1. The sun doesn't track in one direction all year. From my back yard, the sun rises on the left side of my yard in the winter, and sets on the right side, tracking to the south of my house all day. In the summer it rises in the left, but sets in front of my house on the right. The angle the sun strikes the earth changes throughout the year, its how we get "seasons". At noon the sun is higher in the sky. so, I need to track left to right, and follow the sun into the sky and back down, 2 axis.
  2. I see they have some in stock. My mother in law works for Microcenter. I wonder if I can get the employee discount.
  3. I need big servo motors, its going to be 9-12 solar panels. I probably want to run relays, rather than control the motors, then I could have several arrays. Which arduino processor should I go after? Uno?
  4. I want to build a dual-axis solar tracking array and use open source hardware and software to drive it. I know jack about arduino so I wanted to bounce some ideas off of someone in the know.
  5. How many SROs does BMW have for this vehicle? Call their customer relations line and ask.
  6. When you googled "rent a dumpster columbus oh" what did you get?
  7. The problem with mono-cultures is there tends to be something removed from the soil that creates a better environment for various poly-cultures. You have large blade grass and it sucks the soil down so it can't sustain itself anymore and the low nutrient soil is available for robust grasses like crab grass. If it has taken hold, it will not be easy to remove. My suggestion, get a sod buster and pull up the whole area. Bring in some comtil or high-organic topsoil (don't use that promix crap). Now is the perfect time for this. Plant new grass seed, put the seed down fairly dense and use a slit seeder (100% soil contact is important). Once you have the grass seeded you can cover it with oat straw but that isn't important with a slit seeder. The important thing is to water, water, water. Get 1/2" on the ground in the morning and mid day. Once its up, you want to make sure you put down a pre-emergent EARLY spring.
  8. I have a severe seafood allergy, you would be surprised how few people understand that and so I have to go into detail about how they prepare their beef. "We grill it." "do you grill shrimp or lobster on the same surface" "yes" ok, then I can't eat here. Food allergies are scary and I know how you have to dig into their business to figure out if anyone knows what that means.
  9. I go to Hawaii every year. I like the big island for diving/snorkeling. Oahu has beaches and surfing. I have never been to Maui as I always go to the big island. Kilauea is pretty neat, so are the water falls - on the Big Island. I have been to Hilton at Waikoloa 3 years in a row, its nice there.

  14. I know that you probably don't want to look at it this way but, just looking at the truck reminds you of your grandpa. Your Dad wants to work on it. Do what you can and have great memories of working on it together. That is way more important than having it finished. My grandfather was a huge influence in my life, it is strange but every time I clean a fish it is because he taught me how. So, when I fish I honor his legacy. When my dad and I fish we always talk about how funny grandpa was. Keep that kind of legacy and you never die.
  15. The more you make, the more you shelter. Taxing the super rich will not pull us out of the problem, it will help a little, but not much. I pay $10,000/year in property taxes and am 25+ minutes from response of the police department, taxes don't ensure quick response. Fire is super close so they show up quickly. I should just call 911 and say I am choking, if I get robbed.
  16. VFW or Scouts will handle the old one. You can burn the flag as well. Make sure you get an all-weather flag.

  18. I take a risk averse position and have been beating the market for the last 5 years.
  19. I have been all over europe. You don't want to build up expectations, you want to pick one place and find one thing to find in that place. Then just go wondering off. I personally love Amsterdam and London. Getting lost walking around is the best way to see a city.
  20. I went to Ohio Dominican, no one really looks at the school that you went to. they look to see if you completed the courses.
