  1. I have looked at it and looked at it, you cannot approach it from the perspective of you will recover the money you spend in less than 15 years.
  2. I think I am going to try to use a power antenna from a car, it has all the parts together and is designed for 12V.
  3. I want to open and close a door that a chicken can walk thru. I was going to use some cheap parts to get it all built. I don't have 120v available, I am going to use a deep-cycle 12V battery charged with a solar panel.
  4. I want to build a door opener for my chicken coop. The power source for the opener will be 12V battery. I will use a drill motor or something to pull the door open and lower it. The electronics are troubling me. I will use a DC timer to send the signal to open or close. I just need something that when it receives the voltage will run the motor in one direction and when it gets the signal the next time, it will reverse polarity. This is similar to a garage door opener (switch tells the motor to go up and down but it is a one position switch). If you know the circuit design, can you tell me the components I would need?
  5. Looks like graphics card logs. Rename the files to have a .bak extension and reboot, if your system is jacked, remove the .bak
  6. Epi is natural, daddy stitches are only available upon request, go buy diapers right now. get used to the price.

    need a new bed

That is exactly what you can expect. Sam's Club has the $500 one. Go to the sleep store and $3000 is about right. The Original Mattress Factory?
  8. My chief in the Navy, his wife had the same condition. There was an Austin Powers character named after this woman......
  9. They are based on huge volumes and low prices. Progressive used to be one of the little ones, now they are one of the big ones. I use State Farm because I have everything and some financial services there and since I am 38 and have a clean record my insurance is cheap.
  10. There are a few of us radical bee keepers that don't medicate. If I lose the colony it is because it would have and should have died, anyway. If you see a bee swarm, please ring me up.

    Headache cures

Potassium often helps, eat a banana and drink loads of water. I get migraines and have to have prescription meds for them.
  12. No, its the pussification that our commercial beekeepers have created. They medicate colonies that have poor genetics and have basically made the strains all weaker. I am building strong colonies, they don't get medication and have to be hygenic, etc...
  13. Doesn't change how I manage my hives at all. Strong bees will always survive, weak bees will die. Its simple genetics.

    Data retrieval

I have used drive rescue, they let you try to get the data before you pay to ensure it works.
  15. I went to Japan and ate Japanese Steak, it wasn't good. True Story. I think you are looking for that Teppenyaki style steakhouse. Flat grill, onion volcano, the one downtown is good.
  16. I run MacOS to host several OSs. I like Ubuntu (Backtrack actually) as my linux OS flavor.
  17. Go download ubuntu and run it in a vm on your mac. Total cost, like $79 for VMWare Fusion.
  18. I have a reverse osmosis system and use a french press, always good.
  19. The problem was the insulator at the top had deteriorated thus no voltage, $15 and I am back in business.
  20. I just replaced my curtain drain pump. Now my wife tells me the water isn't hot. I have a de-super heater on my geo-thermal and that keeps the tank hot but when we use too much the propane fires up. Well, it seems we haven't had the propane for a while and it looks like the thermocouple is dead. I hope this is as simple as it sounds...
  21. I have used TomTom and Android phones for GPS, by far the phone kills the TomTom as it is always updated and TomTom isn't. Having said that, if you go out of range of data, the phone sucks for GPS. As far as ease of use I like the TomTom interface and flexibility for locating things (find a gas station along my route, for instance). The iPhone is the device I would rate absolutely last as far as GPS navigation capability goes.
  22. I am going to take some technical training that relates directly to my job and is a requirement. I think I can write the training off but I have to travel to take the class as it isn't offered anywhere near here. I am paying for this myself. Does anyone on here do this? Do you write the tuition and travel off on your taxes?
  23. I travel with a minimum of 3 ways to get to the Internet at all times and I don't do support work. If someone calls me, any time of the day or day of the week, I am available. Its understood by me and my family that the roof stays overhead because I work odd hours. My company also gives me the luxury of being enabled to support my customers any way I can. This means that I can connect with anything and get my customers up and running.
