Just curious,what's it cost to get started in this? Watched a couple of those video races on that site and looks interesting...

Don't buy new, buy a VERY slightly used one and save a TON. A friend of mine bought a 2008 LX coupe, with all the basic options. AC/pwr windows/locks/cruise/cd/keyless/etc with 8000 miles on it for $11,500 like 6 months ago. I think the car stickered for like $18k.

looks sweet, you got a loaded up one. we went cheap when we bought new, but the ford discount was awesome. we bought a base model fwd,still had keyless/cruise/power options but not lthr etc....anyways, msrp was 26,xxx and we got it for $19k OTD new, LOL ford. congrats on a new vehicle, probably better you didn't buy a tow vehicle as the edge averaged 20-22mpg for us and you wouldn't see that out of a v8 vehicle.

what do you guys think of bmw's with 145k miles? lol some people say they run forever, others don't. LOL, nothing really. I just know have a month or so to look. Got lucky because my lil sis came home from college for thanksgiving and decided she's not taking her car back for the last month before xmas break. So she said I could drive it if I want. Takes some stress off my back and now I can really search for a good deal on a sweet car. its a 00 jeep grand cherokee, loaded up, heated lthr and 4wd will be nice for winter. Anyone wanna go offroading? Hope we get some DEEP snow before xmas.

Edit: have something to drive for a little while, so not so rushed but still want to buy. $8k MAX REALLY prefer a manual trans, but may consider auto. Cars only - must be able to find a car seat in back. No junk/project cars/etc, need something I can get in and go.

Sounds like what my 01 GTP did a few years back, replaced the pump and all was dandy. i bought a used pump from ed morad,never gave me any troubles and saved me some dough.

We bought a 2008 Edge new last year. It was great and rode/handled awesome. It fit both our car seats in fine but the trunk space could have been larger. Once we put the wagon in the trunk that was it. We ended up putting nearly 15k miles on it in a year and traded it in on a minivan. Much happier with the 2008 Nissan Quest in terms of space and usability. Depending on your intended use I would hesitate to recommend it. For 2 kids and an active lifestyle, its a tad on the small side. But as a suv/vehicle, no complaints whatsoever.
