  1. The engine has the nicoseal (sp) cylinders instead of steel liners. They switched to the liners 2001. Also had a plastic timing chain tensioner that gave them a fit. They also chnged that around 2001
  2. In the past they have let bikes run cars
  3. I will already be through the traps before you hit the spray though We can make it for pink slips so that it's worth your while????

    KABOOM

They were the lunati pro billet rods. The bolts are stamped lunati but I am sure someone like ARP or A1 makes them. I almost think the rod with the busted up piston went first because there was so much more damage to it but I will never know for sure. There definetly was a broken bolt on the one. The other is still bolted to the crank I may call you later next week about some parts for the next engine, I need to get this stocker together first.

I get around pretty well for an old man. With any luck at all I will be there on the 9th. I was probably over at underwoods car when you came by, he had a bent rod. Not nearly as bad as mine though.
  6. I wont be able to put anywhere near the # per hour that I was with the stroker. Youre right it wont last long but I dont need it to. If I can run a 9.50 that will be a new stock bottom end record. I am already looking at my new racing engine.

    KABOOM

two broken rods. After one broke (the one that destoyed the piston) it sent metal up the intake into all the other chambers

    KABOOM

Was at norwalk on 9-11, on the second pass it let go with a bang. These rods (lunati pro billet) were 5 years old. I thought about replacing them last winter, just didn't have the funds with the rest of the work I did on the car. I have the bone stock (12,000 mile) ls1 that came in the car. I am going to put it in for now. Maybe chase the stock LS1 record. Car is very heavy, 3825 on the norwalk scales. Good news is the aluminum block will get me in the low 3700 area. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08058.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08047.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08048.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08049.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08050.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08051.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08052.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08053.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08054.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08055.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08056.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc122/koolrayz/DSC08057.jpg
  10. It's about time someone did a feature on your car. Congrats! It's well deserved!
  11. It hooked a hell of a lot better than trails did. Bring it to door wars and run street assassin.
  12. I ran a 9.03@155 there with a 295 drag radial on a friday night test and tune. You just have to adjust your tune up. It aint no norwalk
  13. Dont bother checking the door tag. The car could not have come with the 3.42 from the factory. Could have been changed later though.
  14. Okay we can start with you? Heads up for $20
  15. They also have a secret radio band width that allows them to make the clock radio in your bedroom a transmitter. It works even if it is unplugged with the battery out of it in a plastic bag under water in outerspace.
  16. It may not last forever. It only has to last long enough to beat the 9.6x stock BOTTOM end record. I am working on another engine as we speak. I would like to place this one back on the stand and have it in the wings,,,, I can pull it out anytime a pesky nitrous or superchaged car gets to frisky The rod bolts and main bolts will be the weak link. Hoping the ethanol and my ninja tuning skills will keep it together with the high compression. Cold plugs and single digit timing
  17. I checked the stock engine that came in my car over the weekend and it looks to be in great shape. I will be installing a COMPLETELY stock ls1 in my car. I have an old set of springs I will be installing and shimming the crap out of. The people talking about how fast there stock BOTTOM END cars are will soon be destroyed by a COMPLETELY stock motor. I dont care how shitty the stock heads and cam flows I will boost the crap out of it,,,,,, They will flow!!!
  18. I have seen grizzly bears in the wild no less than 6 times. My favorite was near fishing bridge in yellowstone. The rangers had everyone held back at the bottom of a hill and said there was a bear on the other side. I went back to the parking spot and followed the road a couple hundred yards to a tree line. We followed it to the lip of the hill and saw a grizzly bear about 200 yards away eating bugs out of a dead stump. After a few minutes two rangers on horseback came from over another ridge. They were riding at full tilt. The bear jumped up and started hauling ass. They were pretty close to him when he started running but he quickly smoked there ass. I was shocked at how fast it was. Anyone that thinks they will elude one with the ninja speed will be dinner for sure. On another note I recieved a pic on my camera today that is a cougar with a dead white tail. Supposedly it was a recent picture from a trail cam near Perrysburg.
  19. I was just looking at them last week, trying to decide which one is best for my engine.
  20. You still have that oil pump for sale?
  21. Threw a rod. I will have the motor out tonight. Not sure why yet. Looked in the "window" and the crank doesnt look like it spun a bearing where the rod is missing. Turbine wheel has some damage but looks like it will be OK to run. Just hoping the heads, lifters, etc are OK. I have another junk yard block I will try and get in the acid tub this week to clean it up.
  22. I talked to dave a few times friday. It appeared he had a BAD rod knock. Lutz thought it was in the valve train so he took a valve cover off but it was all good. More bad luck for Dave.
