  1. I think there are recommendations depending on well size. Relates to well casing size I believe.
  2. You should also watch which cleaning products that you use which contain bleach.
  3. Here's how I shock mine. Dump 3-6 gallons of bleach down the well. Shut off/bypass water softener. Run water from farthest hose til I can smell the bleach. Let it sit for a day then run water from same spot until I can't smell it anymore. Then run water at each point to clear each of those out. Then turn my water softener back on. Note: I have a septic system and bleach is not good to I try to limit the about of bleach that gets into it. Some people will run the hose back into the well (to conserve the water) however, my wellhead is 1200 feet from my house and it isn't practical for me.
  4. Did you switch brands of fuel? My car gets 29 with Certified fuel, but 35-39 with Sunoco.
  5. First saw is a 288XP This saw has just had a new piston and ring installed. It pulls 160PSI of compression. Chain brake is not installed. Bar and chain not included. This saw is a beast. Asking $425 http://columbus.craigslist.org/grd/4372152048.html Also have a 181SE with 18" bar and .58ga chain I picked this saw up from the original owner who couldn't get it to stay running. This saw has just had a carb kit installed and now runs great. It pulls 140PSI of compression. 20" Bar and 58ga chain included. (Chain is usable, but has been sharpened many times) $375 OBO http://columbus.craigslist.org/grd/4372158642.html
  6. Me too. I'm setting the next maintenance replacement at 40k. The tensioner and water pump bearings still seemed good, but why chance it. So I put in new ones. Thanks, Rich
  7. Thanks. I did confirm that it was interference. I put on a new belt (aftermarket, not OEM) but did replace both the water pump and tensioner (both at 95k and now). Cam and Crank seals are good. no oil leaking from either. Scoped all cylinders and didn't see any damage or marks that indicated the valves hit the pistons. Put on the new belt and did a compression test. I don't have a leak down test kit. All are within 20% and didn't indicate leaking valves. So I put the plugs in and started it. It appears that I have been very lucky and don't have any other damage. I'm now going into hiding until 2015 as I think I just used up all of my luck for the entire year. Thanks again, Rich
  8. I'll run the leak down test as well. Just hoping for no major damage. The timing best is supposed to be good for at least 90k and I was only at 50kish. Didn't have any indication that it was about to let go either.
  9. I have a scope. I'll run it down into the cylinders and have a look. I have to pull the valve cover to do the timing belt so hopefully I can see if there is any damage from up top.
  10. I replaced my timing belt between 95k-100k Today at just over 150k it broke in half on the way home between 40-50mph I'm looking up the parts and everything is saying that the engine is an interference engine. Can anyone confirm? I know I turned the motor over (by hand) when I replaced it the first time when I was trying to figure out a incorrect timing and it never seized up from the pistons hitting the valves. Also, before I realized it was the timing belt, I tried starting the car several times thinking it was due to low battery (had my booster pack). TIA Rich
  11. I'd say 1.5-2 inches of snow near Slate Run Metro Park in Canal Winchester. Sleet/Freezing rain started at 11PM. Also, I have snow drifts over 8 inches next to the garage where there is usually none. Driveway likely has drifts over 15 inches.
  12. I have a copy of GTA5 for PS3 $30 - Sold -Rich
  13. I think most fireplaces just don't provide enough radiant heat to make up for heat (hot air) going up the chimney that has to be replaced (cold air from outside). I believe that most inserts have a blower on them. the insert heats up a tube and a fan blows air through the tube and therefore warm air into the room. I also think that most inserts use the fireplace chimney with little or no modification.
  14. Bump. Feel free to make offers. Also, found my other 2 wii controllers.

  18. True. Sears also had a "BBQ Master" grill that was a 4 burner instead of 5, but look exactly the same. (it was $179, but not on closeout). Who knows who actually makes the Kenmore's.
  19. I had a gift card that I had to spend on something before they close all of their stores. It looked like 75% of the items in the Lancaster Sears store was on clearance or closeout.
  20. I bought this one tonight from the Lancaster Sears. They may only have floor model left now. I think I got the last one that was boxed. Only $50 after my $100 gift card. I was also given a $10 off next $50 purchase within the next week if anyone wants that coupon (in store only)
  21. If the blades are sticking, I'd likely take it to Midwest. Otherwise, you can get sensor cleaning kits (also at Midwest) as well as a rocket blower that will get most loose dust out. http://mpex.com/giotto-rocket-blaster-aa1900.html
