D3100, shooting whatever in the dark? Star pattern? super long exposure shots, etc
-
I figured out how to manually focus. Not necessarily in the dark. But when you turn it to manual focus mode there is a green dot in the view finder that comes on when your subject is in motion while manually focusing. Maybe not earth shattering to some of you pro's but i'm still learning some functionality Also the rangefinder wasn't on, which is an option.

no I wouldn't ask about something like that. I meant the lighting there where the neck meets the shirt collar.
-
What happened around the neck line there?
-
So is it a plug in? Is it compatible with elements?
-
RPM transmission FTW. They are in Muncie. Wonder if they have a built trans laying there they'd take yours in as a core......? might be worth asking.

I was curious about this and called my insurance. As I thought camera was covered under home insurance. but if I don't want to have a deductibe, specifically on camera equipment he said it would be $14 (p/year) per every $1000 insured. Which isn't bad.
-
So how all do you do that? special plug in? I did a photoshoot with a black background with the intent of changing it, but I just can't get it to look right.

Someone school me on how to take pictures, please.

The automatic setting is going to be fail for night pictures. It will want to use the flash. Unless you have an automatic setting for no flash? Make sure you take a tripod. -

View from Crowne Point towards Portland just after sunset. I-84, quite possibly one of the prettiest drives in the country through the Columbia River Gorge. Moar piks to come. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Oregon/DSC_0305---edited.jpg

I think I may have figured it out. If I have the camera on autofocus, it will cycle through the focus range and then default at the 'infinity' focus. Then you just flip it to manual focus and shoot without touching the focus adjustment. Still playing with it to verify though.
-
either my kit lenses or my 35mm 1.8 They don't have the infinity mark and cranking them all the way to the right doesn't get things in focus .
-
So the problem I keep getting time and time again, is sometimes I have my tripod, its pitch black out but I am prepared for a 2 minute shutter opening. But I cannot get the pictures in focus. Obviously the autofocus will not work, but the manual focus makes it very difficult. When manually turning the focus there is no visible marking for the 'infinity' focus. how do you get around this? Thanks in advance.
-
OK so I couldn't wait any longer so here are some completely untouched 'teezar' shots, until I get to chopping them up. Pics deleted as to not taint the final product.
-
dang man, took some of those same shots today! but you're going to make my look bad, lol. it'll be a week or so till i process them. However I used my variable density filter and was able to get a 6 second shutter speed so the waterfalls have some nice motion.
-
What camera did you end up getting?
-
Sorry for my ignorance...but what is the purposed of this product? just to be able to control the radio while swimming?
-
Thanks! took those with my new 35mm F/1.8 lens

Since this was a public issue I feel a public description resolution is due. Even though there is no way I could have known of a stator failure before I sold it and on top of that I sold the jet ski with no warranty. It was still a pretty unfortunate event of timing for this to go out on Paul shortly after buying it. With that said Paul elected to have the jet ski taken to the dealer for diagnosis and repair. Being that I personally believe/know that dealers are a rip off there is absolutely no way in hell i'd ever take a vehicle there (unless it was warranty work etc.). Looking at just the part price they were quoting paul it was I think over $100 difference from buying the part brand new online (motogrid.com). The part was going to be just under $300 on motogrid, so I agreed to pay half of that ($150 for you social studies majors) to Paul as good faith. It was his choice to pay the dealer mark up and labor. Honestly I feel really bad this happened to you hopefully there are no hard feelings. And if anyone else reading this for some reason still thinks I'm a crook and never wants to buy anything from me, thats your call you'll be passing up on well maintained vehicles.

I thought it be a good idea to just start a thread where people can post pics of cars. Not just crap you copy and paste off the web, not great pictures that you just happen to have on your hard drive. Pics should have been taken recently. Not dedicated to any special cars....just cool car pics. Pics of the suds cruise in from today. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/th_DSC_0007-edited.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/th_DSC_0006---edited.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/th_DSC_0003.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/th_DSC_0002-BW-w-color-highl.jpg
