Post your holiday themed photos! Snapped this one tonight of my friends baby girl. The iso was cranked up due to the low lighting and no tripod. I touched up the picture did some dodging and burning to try to highlight the ornament and the light on the baby's face, also burned the back a bit to isolate the effect of a dark room. FWIW I had great luck with my 10-20mm Sigma. It was half what the Nikon cost. I figure if I like it I'll get the real deal in 5 yrs. This has nothing to do with your question except that I like the Sigma. They've also extended their warranty 3 yrs on top of their 1yr warranty so that takes you up to 4 yrs.

I like turtles.

Best Buy had their black friday items on sale yesterday for premier members. Got everything from thre I wanted, now I just have to go to sears to get some tools and i'm done.

My only objection to going with one brand and then switching is that the lenses you buy after the fact won't work when you decide to switch.

Man, you are really going to get a mix of input. Most people are loyal to their brand. I just got my first DSLR this yr. and Its a Nikon D3100. I absolutely love it. You can pick up a kit with 2 lenses (18-55 and 55-200mm) lenses and the bag and everything for $700 at costco. The menus are intuitive, the camera's potential is awesome. Also its light. for $200 I got a 35mm prime lens F1.8 and it rarely leaves my camera. Makes it great to walk around. Also it does 1080p video. My friend just picked up a T3 for his family to use. And I messed with it for an hour with as much of an open mind as I could. I just didn't like it. It felt cheap, lack of grip? The menus didn't work for me, but maybe its because I've already been nikon brain washed. They did purchase it with a 75mm to 300mm kit lens which is nice, plus their kit lens had a metal mount. All the nikon kit lenses were plastic mount, but my other ones purchased later were metal mount. However the lenses for Canon are a bit cheaper, but I don't think its a huge deal.

Thanks duder. I'd have even put on an intake last night too. Really cool to see everyone again. I felt like i just didn't have enough time to catch up with everyone that I wanted to. I'm sure this feeling was mirrored by a few others. I'd have gladly spent 1 hr BSing with like 30 people one at a time. It was amazing to see some people have never change in 10 yrs and other have changed A LOT. For the most part we are so such a very different part of our lives in a decade. Was almost like a highschool reunion. lol
