Went out yesterday and did a 3month old shoot of my best friend's family and their baby girl. Also a 'halloween' shoot. At this point in my photography I'm still learning every time I push the shutter button. For this shoot we were at the park at 1pm, which the light just burns everything and casts a horrible shadows but I used my built in flash to try and fill those in as best it could. Also I was shooting @ ~f2.2 to try and get some good bokeh but that was driving my shutter speeds beyond the limit of the camera and causing over exposure. Also my skies were blown out. Next time if I have to shoot with big apertures I need to slap on my variable density filter. I wanted to shoot more but 1hr was about the limit for the little one. comments welcome. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal21.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal20.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal19.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal18.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal17.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal16-edited.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal15.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal14.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal13vignettecrop.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal13.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal12vignette.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal11.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal10.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal9.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Kenli%203%20month%20photos/th_Kenli3mofinal8.jpg

We PM'd and I wasn't able to help but on another forum someone posted up this website which seems pretty interesting! Basically you make an auction for what you need to ship and get bidders from shippers that have empty trailers going one way. http://www.uship.com/

Where are you getting LS6 intakes for $200? I need one.

Its pretty easy, what exactly have you heard i'm curious. My car has been running for 2 yrs (with the swap) and just had my first failure.....an alternator. Truth is I gave the rotary a shot, actually two of them. Maybe my build skills suck or I was juts unlucky. The rotary is cool, completely different from other motors, obviously. I do give you guys props that stay with the rotary because of its uniqueness and keeping the rotary alive but I just was tired of funding the experiment out of my own pocket. If the rotary does come back out it will be interesting to see if they develop any new technologies to meet the requirements of today's car market.

Good Written I feel helpless. As much as I am personally ok with compromising some of my ideals to help move this country forward, there are still some in the government that can't do that. I think he is a victim of the inefficiencies of the congress and senate. There is nothing any president could have done/do. IMO

I darkened this a bit in post processing to give it the effect I was looking for. More than you can afford, pal. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/Ferrari-458Italia-engine-highres.jpg

Not that I am some huge expert but I really feel my photography was suffering. I'd get into places where a pano shot wasn't possible but really would have made a huge difference so it was clear that I needed (wanted) a wide angle lens. With the crop body my 18mm really wasn't 18mm. Went around at one point I was convinced I was going to end up getting the Nikon 10mm-24mm, but with the considerable price tag of $900 (I know in lenses thats not that much, but i'm a beginner give me a break). The only other lens I have purchased was the Nikon 35mm F1.8 which was only $200. I looked at options like the Tamron and the Sigma. Like many of you I spend hours, days, weeks looking at reviews and comparison shots. But being that I do not make money with my photography and also some of the comparisons really didn't show any difference between the Sigma 10-20mm and the Nikon 10-24mm to my eyes. I don't consider myself a Pixel peeper so with a price tag of $479 (UV filter inclued) it was definitely more reasonable. Also throw in that Sigma has added a 3 yr warranty to its 'US market' lenses bringing it up to a total of 4 yr warranty (Nikon is 5 yr) I was feeling more comfortable that they were willing to stand behind their product. Also, I wasn't entirely sure how much i'd use this focal range. If I use it a lot and it breaks after the warranty, I might be more willing to let the cash go for the Nikon, maybe by then I'll be able to make money with my photography to support my habit. Before anyone asks, I did consider the Tokina 11-16mm which is a superb lens, but would not autofocus with my camera. First Impressions - The zip up case is nice to have. Wish nikon lenses came with them. I won't use it much since it'll be in my bag but still nice to know if I store it I can put it in there. - It feels heavy but I have not compared it to the Nikon 10-24. I've been using my 35mm prime since I bought it, so i guess anything will be heavier. Usually heavier means sturdier...right? Also my little D3100 makes anything seem heavy, well thats what she said. - This is my first lens that has a focus range! Finally I will be able to get super long exposures in the dark and they will be in focus! - They have totally stole Nikon's lens cap design, which is awesome. Copy away. SNS (Seven Not Stock, V8 RX7 meet) is in Indy this weekend so it'll probably get some use and i'll post back. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Miscelaneous/DSC_0618.jpg shot of my totally awesome garage (20x20) standing in one corner. Shot at 10mm http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Miscelaneous/DSC_0622.jpg Pic taken with my 35mm prime, just for comparison. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Miscelaneous/DSC_0625.jpg

Oooooooooooh I like. I was looking at this manfrotto but it doesn't quite get high enough. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/755421-REG/Manfrotto_MKC3_P01_MKC3_P01_Photo_Kit.html I think i'm going to go with that benro, thanks for the find! I just need it to hold my d3100 with smallish lenses. Mostly for hiking/backpacking. I'll still keep my other tripod for sure though.

My manfrotto weighs 4.6lbs I was looking for something under 2 - 2.5lbs

Not really looking to spend over $100 but want something that I can stand behind without crouching down. I have a nice Manfrotto tripod with a pan head but its just too heavy and bulky. I had another tripod I was using for travel but its just too short and crappy. Any suggestions? I was looking at this one. http://www.adorama.com/SLSP2BGM.html But there are a lot of options.... any references?
