my only critique of your review is the '400 miles out of the tank' But please know I have a deep rooted displeasure when I hear car commercials say that. "OMG HAI lets talk to this sokar mom about fuel ekonomies" "Hai yes, I got 500 miles in the tank!" Give.me.mpg.!!!! I can put a fuel container in my truck pick up bed and run 2000 miles on a fill up if I wanted to. sorry for the rant, thanks for sharing the review. I am very curious at looking at the inside of one now. Maybe the seats are made out of aluminum too? lol

I did 7 night jamaica trip all inclusive with airfare direct from cincinasty for $699 per person. The deal was through travelzoo/vacation express. Pretty much echo some of the items above. It was a 3 star resort. Be careful with the reviews there are a lot of posters with only 1 post....very suspicious of hotel staff paid to sit there and make glowing reviews. Also some of the bad reviews where it was people with just ridiculous expectations. I guess if i paid 2k a person i'd have been upset. The food was meh. Found a jerk chicken stand that was open all the time and it was pretty darn good. Ate jerk chicken all day err day. All food all drinks included. I was actually glad we paid less for the vacation because we didn't feel guilty about exploring off side and going on excursions. We were able to use money we didn't spend on the hotel to do an excursion every day. Had a great time off side. I heard dominican republic is a bit sketchy off resort but jamaica was just fine. Loved cliff jumping at ricks cafe. Seriously $100 a night per person including air I was really wondering how they keep the doors open on the place. Granted it was a smoking deal and others were paying excess of $1500. I'd do it again.

very neat. Interested to see your thoughts after some seat time. I personally will probably never buy another Polaris product. Its been junk. They have massive quality control issues and their service network is trash. If you do put anything aftermarket on make sure you can easily take it off and go back to stock before servicing. Even something like a wider tire than stock.

The whole system update excuse I got about 2-3 yrs ago also, hence my comment on making copies of the receipts. I also think its a load of BS.

I miss Jono at the Bethel Advance. I've been a pretty die hard customer of Advance. I've usually had better luck with the staff being smart. Though I have my fair share of awesome quotes from the latest high school kid that inevitably ends up there. At our old house there was one walking distance, which is convenient. There was a guy there that may not know everything but he was pretty darn sharp or at least willing to learn and reason with. Moreso he was usually very helpful and would do what it took to make me a happy customer. In the past I tend to go to advance for parts vs online depending on what the component is. Battery, yes (buy online with 40% off coupon). That way when it fails I can just come back and say gimme a new one. Same thing with other parts like alternators or coils, sensors, etc. I am the sucker that buys the lifetime warranty and then when/if it breaks I get it swapped out immediately without worrying about shipping junk. As Clay has learned (and I did a long time ago). They don't retain their records. Make sure you not only keep the receipt but that you make a photocopy of them. They quickly become illegible after sometime. So in short, it depends on the part i'm getting. I will say we went through 4! advance alternators. I paid premium for the NEW Delco Remy alternator with the lifetime warranty. yet when I got it it was this 'tough one' crap brand, supposedly its a brand of delco, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. Finally, an alternator left her stranded and I said...enough. They ended up taking it back and giving me a full refund. Got an alternator at O'reilly's and its been good every since. They've also treated me right on battery warranties. however their prices are INSANE. Even with the 40% off its on par with online prices. Oil prices are 1.5 to 2 times Walmart. That's insane too.

I got a refurb dyson from woot about 3-4 yrs ago. Works good.

yeah make sure you have something lined up. It took us 18 months to find our house (just got it in sept). We had neighbors at our old place that ended up having to find a rental to live in till they found a place....for 2 yrs. Market is crazy, we missed on a bunch of places before we got smart and grew some claws. Got lucky on our place. Truth be told 6 months later I still have my Zillow search active and nothing has come up that I am even remotely interested in, very happy with the purchase. Our house sold in 4 days.

I have Cincinnati Ins. also. First claim they were very hard to work with. Didn't want to do anything. I had to have a roof replaced 9 months later (URGH!) and it went surprisingly simple. No questions. Unfortunately because of those 2 claims they jacked me up in rates, but they seem to have gone back down when we got our new house. Insurance is $1200 a yr I think. But its a 3600 sq ft home. ($~250k) so I thought it was reasonable.

Thats good. Sometimes it takes different things for people to see things one way or another. Glad you've found the comfort you've been looking for. So do you not believe in evolution now? What about stem cell research? just trolling. Jokes aside don't ever for get what it was like being on the atheist side. My best friend, essentially my brother, is what I would call 'very' religious. He goes to church every week. He follows lent, closely. He and his wife didn't select either of their siblings as god parents because they didn't really follow religion which in their eyes was the purpose of a god parent...to lead their children spiritually. He has not once ever said anything snide to me. You cuss too much! Going to hell! You don't believe Jesus was your savior?! going to hell. You get the point you've been there. One of the reasons we respect each other mutually is because we realize thats probably the only difference between us but deep down we still are just good people and that is the purpose of it all. I have pretty high respect for him from a stand point in he believes in something non-tangible. They base their lives on something that there is really no way to prove. That takes a lot of personal strength and will power. Another thing I respect is he's not on facebook every day. Someone posts that their kid stubbed their toe and goes way over board "My brother I will pray for you and will the lord jesus have his will and heal that toe soon". The over the top religious stuff drives me bonkers.

Its funny people get on here and complain about folks on .gov assistance. Then tell this guy he's an idiot for walking 20 miles for a $10 an hour job. The man takes care of what he's gotta do, hats off.

There has been a few threads on mech engineer specific stuff so i won't bore you on the details but. I feel my job has the good mixture of hands on. A lot of what my job is, is traveling accross the country installing prototype engines in customer vehicles. Integrating them to work (basically engine swaps). Then if issues arise we have to troubleshoot them document issues etc. The nice thing is i don't do the mundane work...oil changes, parts swapping. But when something goes down and need some experience i get into the interesting stuff like troubleshooting etc. That said minimum our area requires would be an MET degree. I joked with my parents about wanting to be a technician. Pretty much do whatever you want, after you have your degree, hah. As you are finding out, really no matter where you go, there will probably be some sort of ceiling if you don't have a degree. No that you said this, but I hate it when people say 'i'm just not built for school'. I feel like it minimizes other people's efforts because they didn't feel like going through with it. School was a challenge for me, and it is for just about everyone. I never got up in the morning and was like SCORE! FINALS! I love this!. IMO degrees are a small percentage of what you learn and will use later and more about your discipline to finish something you started, something that is a challenge. Like Jesse said. If you're making 100k without a degree i'd be hesitant to move. Specially considering most technicians I know, hit their 50's and their body catches up to them. All those hours rolling around on concrete and working upside down in a truck. Then at that point your 100k job probably won't be around and the reason you have it is because of the experience/reputation you had with that employer at that time.

Putting it towards my 30x50 shop. Fingers crossed hopefully this spring.

Gray out the cell with GBP and put no content. When someone clicks on it to try to see the content have a pop up box that says 'This is 'merica'

As much as I love to hear Cardale stayed. He should have gone to the NFL. As a backup QB his stock won't be higher. Article I read said he would go 2nd or 3rd round. Go make that skrill before you get hurt. Though I admire that he wanted to stay and be the first in his family to get a college degree. Can't hate the man for that.

Like I said on FB. Let them have their shirts, we'll keep the trophy.

I know preseason means nothing. Actually it means less than nothing, and I should be getting upset about it. Tired of hearing TCU fans say 'ok play TCU now'. TCU should not be #3 in the final standings, TCU should not be #1 in preseason. No teams should drop out of the top 4. Once you make the playoff you're basically playing for place 1-4. (I know, I know, FSU) but still. As far as this past season is concerned. All the numbers played out PERFECTLY. Could not have been better. Please feel free to disagree with me. Baylor - Didn't have a championship game, other teams got the edge. End of story. OSU beat WI 59-0 in the CG. TCU - Lost to Baylor. End of story, should be ranked behind them. Everyone has bad days but still. If VT was ranked 4th and bumped us from the playoff Ii'd say...yup thats our bad. Rest of the teams were 2 loss teams and had no stake in it. Then the two teams that under the BCS rules would have been in the Title game (Bama and FSU) didn't make it. That game would have been a slaughter. The #4 seed winning it all is crazy but there are no doubts, imo. The numbers all played out perfectly, when half way through the season everyone was screaming disaster.

2002 Season....we went Undefeated. 2014 Season....Undisputed. 2015 Season....Unstoppable? (too soon?) both were great but this one feels good, as a fan. Last three games were nothing short of amazing.

So still didn't answer the question what do you roll in? Please enlighten us with pics of all the 570s your kids own.

I went on a ride with Hoblick and Fowler l last year to WV. Awesome trails. I really like black mountain in Kentucky. Most places close by suck. Have to haul to go anywhere wowrthwhile. Get on the forum and meet some riding buddies, I try to avoid going out solo, never know when something is going to happen. I don't really care for EPS. I just have to blip the throttle on the way down sometimes to keep the clutch engaged. A lot of people go as far as saying they don't like it. Wont' let you coast down a hill or if you get into a situation where you want those wheels to roll freely. I was just talking to Hoblick about going out for a ride in March/April down to Rush offroad. Tag along. Brandon's deal on the artic cat looks solid, plus he's a good dude so don't have to worry about getting scammed. I hear the artic cat has a pretty darn good stock suspension but lacks in other places. If it has what you need just buy it! Yamaha's have issues too. I really wish Yamaha or Honda could come out with a sport model. Hey....we never ran out, got back jusssst fine. If you want I can send you pictures, its the same size as the 800, with the same acceleration (new efficient transmission design). So you are talking with absolutely 0 knowledge on the subject. I wasn't really too keen spending 17k+ on a 900 at the time for as little use as it gets. And as stated I wanted the 50" model. It doesn't make a bit of difference when there are very seldom any situations where trails allow for going over 30 mph. Of course the XP1200 is fantastic. But its a duner's machine. and MSRPs at over 22k last time I checked. I have other things to spend money on. If you want we can compare retirement accounts and see who's laughing. Do you have an offroad machine?
-
Yeah I can chime in. I have a '12 RZR 570. Its a cool machine. I was coming off a sport quad (LTZ400). I wanted something i could use for work around a future property (basically just a snow plow and moving trailers around). But I also wanted to be able to go out with the wife. I went the polaris route because of the sportiness and the sheer sales volume means a lot of aftermarket. Granted I know the 570 is the smallest motor but the machine is really capable. Still climbs anything I throw at it, and can get up to 58 mph on good open spaces (though its sketchy). I wanted the 50" widtch because I wanted to be able to load it in my truck bed, and also didn't want to worry about not fitting on ATV trails. After you get into it all, turns out its a PITA to actually haul it in the truck bed. I have short bed truck so the rear tires would be on the tailgate...plenty of concerns with that. Of course there are tailgate supports ETC but it just wasn't worth it. Also makes the truck very top heavy. I ended up just getting a trailer for it. I do generally like my RZR a lot. My biggest gripes have been build quality, design issues, durability, and warranty support. I spent a good part of time reading through the forums learning the common issues. Dumb shit like fuel lines rubbing on frame rails with no support. Rear hub bushings...with no zerk fittings (though all other bushings had zerks, had to drill and tap the hubs). Melted tail light lenses, which seem to be fairly common, had to buy LED bulbs to keep heat down. Some have melted beds, because of the high heat from the exhaust. Then you have the shitty designed Fan breaker which is on the under side of the cab and is not water proof. Resulting in a failed breaker and overheating. There are a lot of these little nuances that I 'think' i've taken care of. The 13's had a bad intake tube resulting in mud intrusion to the engine, polaris has been crappy about paying for the failures. The stock tie rods, ball joints, tie rod ends, and bearings are crap. Stock tires are crap. The body panels don't line up, looks like a 2 yr old assembled it. The factory cage is junk, as I found out when I rolled it at like 5mph and a tree crunched it down to just above the top of my helmet. (have a much nicer aftermarket cage now). Getting warranty work has been a nightmare. My primary clutch went out with 14 hrs on the machine. Those that know my know how meticulous and careful I am with things. First time to the dealer couldn't get it to replicate, then finally just went out on a ride and left me stranded. They were trying to blame it on me that I was abusive. Then changed their tone and saw it was a manufacturing defect. Then I had an axle problem the covered after complaining. I know a lot of this is your dealer and going to bat for you. I've heard many of these SXS's have a similar story. Coming from an ATV I miss the speed/acceleration (which if you got more power would be ok, like the 900 trail). But still you can't ride it the same. Its a different type of riding. I don't like that I spend 2-3 hrs cleaning it out everytime, where the ATV was just a quick wash. I have to scoop up about 7 gallons of muck from my driveway every time we go out (and I avoid mud holes usually). Seems like I have to spend $100-$200 on parts everytime I go out on repairs when I get home. Not repairs from wrecks...just stuff breaking. I miss just throwing the ATV in the truck bed and rolling out, its more of an ordeal to go out now. I do love having my wife with me. I also enjoy that I have a big kit/pack worth of stuff in the bed with tools, spare parts, water, oil, food, whatever you can take it with you. Long day rides are MUCH less tiring. One day in Black Mountain we covered 120 miles in a day. I really do get a BIG smile on my face when I ride it. But everything has its advantages. Best thing I ever did to my RZR were an aftermarket 1/2" umhw full skid plate and aftermarket coilovers with reservoir shocks. Night and day difference. Close 3rd is 8ply radial tires. RZR aftermarket is addicting. I have about $4k in mine in all this stuff. IF I could do it all again. I may look at the Can-am's. I haven't heard much on the John Deere's but they aren't very sporty. I'd probably end up with the 900 trail that just came out. Most places are loosening up on their width requirements, think you'll be alright. Here is mine with the new cage, before adding the doors. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/ATV/DSCN0688.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/ATV/052513_7961.jpg

I have direct TV because we moved to the boonies, since Sept. Works really well. I got all new hardware. I did move it to a pole mount because we got a new roof, didn't want holes in it. Should make it easier to clear off if it does get ice or snow on it. I've lost reception twice for no more than 5 minutes during incredibly hard storms. Happy with the service so far.

yeah curious too. Dumb.

interesting thread. I have a pond on the new property but i don't fish much. Maybe since I have a pond i'll pick it up again. I don' know if there are fish in there, def saw some big bullfrog tadpoles. I think that helps my pond is that a small creek feeds it when it rains, and then has a spill way into another creek. So water is pretty much flowing through when it rains. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Do anything for mosquitoes?
