  1. It won't show for me so if you could get the pic I'd appreciate it:) ohiocichlids@yahoo.com I just looked at autozone and it says they align as well but remove the pin once it's installed. Didn't even mention tdc. Is there a trick to getting tdc easy on these? Also how do I know what stroke I'm on without pulling the valve cover?
  2. link? I seen a couple places that said it needs set at 8 degrees btc
  3. Can't remember lol. I tore it down in a hurry a week or so ago
  4. another thing I've only put a timing chain on sbc's. Do I align the marks on this engine as well? I've got mixed results from google and no pics:(
  5. 89 cav 2.0 When I get this timing chain installed do I pull the pin from the tensioner? Or leave it in?
  6. so tap it? As far as I know it's just the first 2-3. It appears so anyways what do you mean grind them up and chase it? sorry lol
  7. While trying to get the harmonic balancer off with a puller, I managed to mess up the first few threads in the hole. The crank bolt will not thread itself now. Am I screwed? What are some ways to get it to thread so I don't have to scrap this piece of shit car lol
  8. change the fuel filter and go from there:dunno:
  9. I haven't heard any noises no. I'm gonna have wait until the morning now to look at it again.
  10. 114,000miles or something like that. Has been running fine all day, parked it. Twenty minutes later started it and it ran choppy then died a minute or so later. Now it doesn't start at all but, it is getting fuel and spark. It spins over too easy and as if the valves aren't closing. So I start thinking the timing belt. I decided to remove the valve cover to see if I have a bent valve, broken rocker, whatever. Everything seems to be working properly. It's pumping oil and the valves seem to be functioning. Now whether or not they're traveling the full distance, I do not know(just eyeing it but I'd say they are). So that rules out the belt being broke, right? Pulled the plugs, they seem fine, and are getting spark. I used the paper clip trick to check for codes, and it's not throwing any. http://smiliesftw.com/x/madod.gif
