The guy I sold my TDI Rabbit to has been talking about selling it. I'll check and see what he wants for it. BTW: 82 Rabbit with 86 motor converted to TDI spec, small intercooler from a GTI kit, pretty much complete Neuspeed suspension, and some other aftermarket parts. No interior behind the front seats though, and no radio at all.

Screwed to hell Cobra

And HIV has almost no UV resistance, and doesn't handle a high O2 level well. Hit that puppy with some serious UV light, and it'll kill everything on SURFACES. Then flood it with pure oxygen, and kill the soaked-in stuff. -
I've got a couple of throttle bodies that I need overbored, and new butterflies fabbed. Anyone know of a shop in town that would do a good job?

http://www.cumminsracing.com/images/dragster%20vs.%2010%20second%20mustang.wmv If you put some cargo in it, does it still count as a pickup?

Remember the Atlanta Olympics? GMC had some pick-ups for the opening ceremonies that were COMPLETELY CHROME PLATED.

It'll be a crappy movie, because of one simple fact: Jessica Biel stars in a movie that requires her to wear a flightsuit, and not tight hiphugger jeans. Dammit.

That's a little in-city delivery vehicle, made for JDM cities like Tokyo, where nobody delivers things more than 10 miles away. How the hell it got stuck in upstate New York....

For everyone but Alex (you'll thank me later)

damn her pictures are so fucking tiny WTF, each pic is like 3x4 pixels! -
Kinda threw me for a second, I saw the cowl area and thought "WTF? Why does a Vette have rust?". Must be the metal cowl trim, or something like that?

You know it is time to wash the truck when...
Avenger1647545502 replied to 1TrueSS's topic in Passing Lane
Nice conversion, I haven't heard of anyone doing that swap yet. BTW the praying mantis is a SHE, only the females have wings. And your truck isn't really dirty, nothing has sprouted yet. -
New Ford Racing Mustang Race Car 56k warning
Avenger1647545502 replied to 99BlownYellowGT's topic in Pics and Vids
This is the first Mustang since the original 65 fastback that I've actually liked the looks of. The reason for the blue stripes? The USA races those colors in FIA sanctioned events, such as Le Mans. Hmmmm...... -
Anything but BP. Hell, I'll buy that 10% methanol crap from Meijer before I fill up with BP Why? Well, aside from the fact that I get knock with their 91 octane gas on a motor with 9.1:1 compression and my mileage drops by 2MPG, I don't think much of a company that makes "donations" to the political campaigns of their former executives who were then in the state legislature commitees that decided Ohio did not need Octane testing, that companies could sell "Gasahol" blends without telling anyone, and that regulations regarding underground storage tanks needed to be "updated" in such a way that vapor emissions and leak risks are actually increased, but the small, independent operator stations couldn't afford the hundreds of thousands of dollars necessary to totally rebuild their system, thus driving them out of business, allowing the company owned stores to take over.

Huh, wonder if it'll pop again? We climbed St. Helens during a family trip back in 1987, when I was 13. It was a horrible climb, very dusty and a steep climb. But you can't even believe how incredible it is to look out over the crater and see how the entire top 1500 feet of the mountain SLID down.

Gotta go with the classics: HMS Victory, and HMS Dreadnaught. Victory: good blend of firepower with manueverability, and could sail very close to the wind. Dreadnuaght: Started the "all big gun" battleship race.

I wouldn't advise going to NTB, they have a habit of "discovering" problems that don't really exist. They also tend to be very slow, and they only have chick magazines in the waiting room. I know that mechanics want to "female-friendly", but c'mon, a Car and Driver subscription costs less than Redbook or Cosmo.

I gave up on Trails when I saw a bone-stock 92 AWD Talon spin all four off the line. And all the rice kids have gotten annoying, you can't get anywhere near the staging line fence parking anymore.

JET Power Module (side note on Denso Iridium plugs)
Avenger1647545502 replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Passing Lane
Those iridium plugs are great, but make sure you pull them every couple of years just to keep them from freezing to the head. I've seen some aluminum heads where the plugs had to be drilled out after being set for 100k+ miles. BTW if you want real fun changing plugs, try a 69 Cougar with a 428 motor. You had a choice, cut a hole in the shock tower or pull the motor. -
What swimmingbird said! LOL I should know better than to type while drunk. It's weird that I didn't seem to misspell anything though/ Basically, the situation is that a buddy is giving me a little hell because my Avenger is basically an import. I, on the other hand, know that the car was assembled in Normal, Illinois. So unless Abe Lincoln's home state has seceded from the Union, that means my car is more "Made in the USA" than his Quebec-built F-body. We agreed to let that lie, and just go by what percentage of parts are domestically sourced.

There's an s12 (I think, it was the squared-off late 80s 240 at any rate) sitting in a junkyard up near Toledo with a 300 N/A motor in it. I couldn't even tell if they had completed the project, the wiring certainly wasn't done properly. Looked like a decent fit, there was an easy 2-3 inches between the motor and the shock towers.
-
Does anyone have the addy for that website that tells what percentage of various cars is from the USA? I know it's out there, but I can't find it. Also, is there any kind of site that gives the rough count of individual pieces in a car?

Looks to me like the Neon t-boned the truck, truck spun around and hit the C6. I'm not sure if the C6 got knocked back far enough to hit the Ford behind it though, so there may be some rear bumper damage. BTW anyone else noticed the taillights on the truck are DUCT-TAPED in place? WTF, are there seriously companies that make these things without bolt holes? I mean, you HAVE the bolts that held the old ones in.

I had an 8 foot long steel pipe on the end my 3/4 breaker bar, trying to get the front axle nut loose on my Duster. My Dad and I were both lifting, we actually got the front end up off the jackstand on one side. It didn't come loose until we flipped it (the pipe, not the car!) and used the backhoe attachment on the tractor to push down on the pipe. My Grandpa once spent 2 hours cursing at the lugnuts on his early 60s Bonneville. Reverse threaded lugnuts....

Wait, if he doesn't have a jack, how'd he get it that far in the air?
